This sucked!

This sucked more than having the hull of a ship torn off while piloting through a worm-hole.

And Xizzix should know, since she's the one caused the catastrophe in the first place.  But sitting the in the far corner of the bar was a cataclysmic event worst than such a disaster according to her.  It was obvious in her golden eyes that she was isn't in the best of moods: her brown locks remained as ever combed in a ragged fashion and her brows furrowed as she stared at the bubbling liquid that was to be her toddy for the day.  Or was it night?  She didn't feel like searching her software right now to figure out the trivialities of time in space.  With her once smug expression replaced by the most morose, screwed face she could muster without initiating her shapeshifting programs.

At this very second, she was convinced that there was no place in the whole galaxy that she would rather drown her sorrows in than this particular bar in the Red District of Space Station Cancer.  She believed to the core at this second that it didn't matter how many forms she could take in disguise: from a junkie prostitute to a senile old man; or how many ways she could kill: from delicate, poison to blasting away with her favored heavy pistols.  Nothing remained pertinent now, not her skills, her looks, her reputation.  Immediately, as her heady swiveled from one corner to another, she estimated that she could take out everyone in this entire joint and nobody--Nobody!--would even give a passing glance.

Damn, did it suck to be an out-of-work assassin!  Her fingers were just itching to pull a trigger.

Xizzix paid no heed to the strangers that walked in and out of this place for she was no stranger to their kind.  This was the bar that was smashed into a dirty part of the Red District for a reason.  And it was precisely by this reason that she chose to roost her service to anyone needing a "hand" with a certain someone(s).  But alas there wasn't a person in the room who had the 'connection' or else she'd be tracking her target by now.

Yet she didn't care in the least anymore if she found work today--or tonight, whichever the hell it was!--but only in that she found something to take her mind off--the goddamn Martian pop that flowed so smoothly through the sensors!  Ahem, her boredom.  Unable to contain herself, Xizzix found staring at her drink only slightly more appealing than actually sloshing it down her throat.  With little choice left she yanked her feet from the table and snatched the cup into her somewhat large hand and downed the it in one fell swoop.  The taste was vile but the buzz was worth getting her mind off her worries.

[Just a starter post, nothing special.]

It was a crude creation of humanoid design, very reminiscent to the lesser races of his previous galaxy. Metal folded upon metal concealing inferior technology keeping the vessel functioning. It was slightly euphoric being on this station, it stunk of flesh and acrid chemicals, renewing a different hunger not to feed... but to understand. For such a festering pit this place was, it seemed to be the center of the universe for many. If you needed anything, chances were it could be found here. However Ihsahn knew not what it was he wanted. But his curiosity led him around the never ending corridors, bustling with new alien creatures.

Never had he appreciated life so much before in his existence.

This machination was called Cancer, also another name for a disease according to the information logs he had assimilated from a archive computer in one of the District's libraries. It was quite an experience what with all the new languages he had to sort through, the technology was painstakingly backward and took for ever to categorize and convert to intelligible information. Also provided with the bundle of knowledge was a rather detailed map and schematic of the station which he took from restricted files with little effort.

Many businesses in this 'Red' district seemed to be of a liquid dispensing sort, providing fleshlings with 'alcohol' which seemed to temporarily distort their senses and corrupt their mind processing. Already he had encountered a few intoxicated individuals first hand, he easily strode past them despite best efforts to swerve in Ihsahn's direction.

The hum of a red neon light above labeled yet another bar, casting an eerie glow on the robed figure. Drawing back his hood Ihsahn revealed his new face, that of a human. His skin seemed to have a somewhat gold hue to it, which could easily pass as tanned. The face was youngish and handsome, a curt smile set frozen upon it. Unnaturally bright green eyes flashed before settling into a darker more natural level of green. Brown locks of hair grew quickly to a medium length, as he stared at his reflection in one of the advertisement monitors.

It would do.

So he walked into the smoke filled bar, rowdy and bustling with people. His eyes scanned the place quickly. So many to process and all seemed quite preoccupied with something. Perhaps he'd settle with one for the moment, scanning the room again he lingered upon what appeared to be a female human sitting in the corner of the bar. Her facial muscles seemed rather loose and her mouth was in a neutral posistion. His information banks revealed this to possibly be sad or depressed, they were the best percentages compared to the others listed besides. The irritating noise referred to as music seemed to drone in his sensory units, with a blink he switched off the certain decibel levels to mute the irritable sound. But the bustle and chatter of people continued, at least he was picking up on the slang from those drunken locals around him.

Moving over to the table, through the people with a strange swiftness he sat down across the sullen looking humanoid. "Hello there." Ihsahn's true being flared inside his necrodermis body, eager at material contact once again. His data banks surged with possible conversational topics but the star god ignored them, he'd let the conversation lead itself. Shutting off his extra memory units, Ihsahn eyed the female eagerly for a response.

Vedrit, newly arrived to the station, strode into the bar, needing to pass the time before heading off to find a quick job.
The smoke irritated his throat, Vedrit simply swallowed the coughs as they rose.
As he looked around the bar, he wondered if he should have chosen a different one, one a bit less crowded, or had cleaner air. Heck, one that had better music would have worked too.
Shrugging against his complaints about the place, he walked over to the bar and sat down, wondering if the drinks were drinkable, or just recycled spacecraft lube.
After a moment of the bartenders irritation, Vedrit decided on what was supposed water, and he hoped it was. When the bartender returned, Vedrit couldnt tell whether it was the cup or the water that was dirty. Whichever it was, he decided not to drink, but rather to turn around and casually look around the bar.
He had been in bad places before and knew if he looked at a person too long and was noticed, things could get bad fast. Regardless, he couldnt help but to linger on the brown haired person with a strange smile, talking with an obviously perterbed woman. By the looks of her, she could make someone leave if she wanted to.

A little bored, and time seeming to go slowly, he opened up a mental window connected to the VCN, or VirCom as he called it.
He checked the time, his mail, and the status of his ship, but found nothing that would help him pass the time, so he returned to watching the two in the corner, trying his best not to be seen watching them.

Xizzix sensors were never down, even if she got hammered.  And thus was alerted to a newcomer's presence honing into her area.  She failed to gaze up and kept her vigilance upon the empty glass, the remnants of the sludge within gently sliding down the edges to the bottom of the abyss below.  This certainly wasn't the best establishment for drinks or entertainment.  However, she made it a point never to enter such a place without a prior motive; and, as usual, that motive was to seek employment.  In all honesty, while she preferred assassination to any other form of work, she was not above simple escort missions as long as the pay was up to par with what matched other rewards for her skills.

She cared not what to expect what she peer upward to the face at her side, one that was quite handsome and would no doubt make an ordinary woman melt on the inside.  Bless alien military projects for making her anything but normal.  Xizzix glanced at the face that had the balls to approach her and replied with a simple, "Hello yourself."  She looked at him for a long moment, observing and calculating the data in her systems.  It was quite apparent that this creature was of no human origin, least not like her.  An alien, perhaps?  The prospect was open for questioning and she decided she would best leave it at that.  The culminations of events would dare decree that it mattered not who talked to her so long as it wasn't a waste of her precious time.

It was a deafening moment that was broke up by the dreaded resonating music that drilled at her ears, but past experience taught her it was never wise to close off her senses.  After a while of staring at the face, she uncrossed her arms and took a drink of the remainder of what was contained in the glass as she said, "You're obviously not just sitting there for your health.  You've got the credits, I got the time. Now what is it you need?"

The creature replied with a confident tone, perhaps a form of intimidation? Ihsahn knew little of such things, save 'fear'. Something he was adept at causing people to feel. However no such chance here in this current form anyway. Turning slightly to look at the holograms above the bar advertising all manner of products he caught the eye of another humanoid creature, he stared blankly at the person for a moment as curious as a mouse. Most people would avert gazes with others.

Slowly he turned back to the female across from him, he looked her up and down again. It didn't take him very long to realize she was more machine then flesh, to his slight disappointment. But then he became intrigued as why a creature would abandon the flesh for a more artificial body. Most of the fleshlings from his galaxy seemed ever persistent on remaining as mortal as possible. It was interesting that this galaxy seemed rather dependent on machina to the extent of melding with it to such extremes. Only the race that gave him his physical body were willing to sacrifice themselves for an entirely metal body. But they were long gone now, only ash remained.

Again the creature replied, "You're obviously not just sitting there for your health. You've got the credits, I got the time. Now what is it you need?" Credits? Oh that was the universal currency... currency what was that? Some form of tribute to acquire things with. This was rather perplexing. He decided not to delve into it very much. Time... she was giving her time for credits so that he could explain what he needed. Well that was hard since he knew not what it was he needed. "I need... understanding." A strange thought crossed his mind causing him to smile rather unnervingly. "You can provide that?"

His attention span seemed to be all over the place, his eyes wandered off quickly again to survey the bar. He stared once more at the humanoid he had made contact with just a moment before and looked him up and down again. Then he returned his gaze to the table and then to the female's beverage. "I want what you're having." Ihsahn said simply, his voice was like honey yet held a slightly metallic ring to it. The certain decibels he used to project his audio was calculated to be the best tone for positive response from most humanoid females.

When that...thing, whatever it was, looked at Vedrit, he gagged, though he hid it in turning his head quickly, as if he had heard his name. It was as if it had been fashioned out of rotting corpses of one handsome people; the thing just didnt seem to fit its looks.
Whoever that woman was, she didnt seem to see the same thing Vedrit did, or perhaps she had come accustomd to it. Whatever the case, Vedrit was more concerned about how long it was taking to refuel his ship. It seemed to him as if he had been in that bar for hours, many bored hours.
Again, Vedrit opened a mental window connected to the VirCom and checked the status. To his delight, his ship was finished, and his services requested by a small merchant convoy.
Charged with energy, Vedrit payed for the water he didnt drink and took off towards the docking bay.

By this time in her years of wear, tear, and function, Xizzix had witnessed a multitude of things and creatures that little surprised her now as she sat in front of this creature that seemed content in the form of a man.  She doubted she came across one of his kind before or else a name would have sprouted into her databases like a seedling taking root on a barren world.  But her banks were of no comparison to a barren world but, in fact, the records of her experiences; dating from her bitter beginning and would continue to do so down to her glorious end.  Xizzix planned on living a long time.

But, even for a cyborg who'd seen her fair share of malevolence and taken part in mindless, brutal violence, she was a little unnerved by this 'person's' penchant for silence.  Under normal circumstances, those that approached her tended to want to finish their business with her as quickly as was physically possible.  Yeah, she had that effect on people.  However, the mere fact that the thing persisted it's sitting beside her--well, to put it frankly, was starting to get on her nerves.  But she was once a practitioner of patience once in a great while and this person's presence was a welcome change from the absence of anyone who cared to converse.

Understanding?  He sought understanding?  Hm, maybe he didn't know how this whole exchange thing worked.  Perhaps he wasn't here to purchase her services after all.  Offering only seconds of thought to the prospect before storing it in the back of her mind, Xizzix squinted toward a person at the end of the bar who seemed busy peeking at her direction.  It was a human, this was obvious even if she hadn't been human before, and had a seeming distaste for this establishment.  This irked her, without a doubt in her mind.  She never did like tightwads that walked into the cheapest bar they could find only to mock those within, making them feel cheaper than they were.  Perhaps this person needed a special greeting.

Returning her attention to the man at her side, she grinned a little and nodded in understanding.  "Wait a moment, if you don't mind," she said with an eerie politeness and grabbed her empty glass.  Striding over to the bar, she snapped at the bug-eyed bartender, pointed to her glass, then nodded.  The alien behind the bar needed no words to understand that she wanted a refill and, upon knowing Xizzix for some time, knew that it was better to follow orders when than delay them.  She was close to the man that was headed toward the door and quickly caught the glass he'd been drinking from in her gloved hand.  She took a single large step before she slapped a heavy hand down upon the departing man's shoulder and said with an expertly crafted congenial tone, "You forgot to finish this, friend."

He watched his new 'friend' pondering away, her mind ticking like clockwork too him he was curious to see as to how it worked but then lost interest and his eyes once again began to wander around the room, flashing an unnaturally bright green for the tiniest of moments. That human he'd made eye contact with appeared to have moved from his spot on the table, living behind a glass of some liquid. Ihsahn turned back to the cyborg whom had just gotten up as she said, "Wait a moment, if you don't mind." Her vocal tones had changed slightly, they seemed more warm then when she firs greeted him. His artificial eyes followed her as she walked over and grabbed the glass the human had forgotten and caught up with before he left the bar.

Standing rather suddenly he walked over to the bar, replicated what he had seen the female do by rapping on the table and nodding his head. The alien barkeep poured a glass and extended a hand, "You got the credits?" it asked in a thick alien accent. Ihsahn searched data banks for this said credits and also cross referenced general information about bars. "Put it on my tab," he simply replied before walking back over to the vacant booth he was just in. Where did that hybrid go? Locating her frequency outlet almost instantly he saw her through the fog of smoke talking to the human. Though not one to intrude, well sort of, Ihsahn sat politley drinking the flavourless liquid known as beer as he watched and waited for the cyborg to return. If she did intend on returning.

The bar keep however was less then impressed and was talking to some of the more thuggish types sitting along the counter and pointing over at Ihsahn, to which he paid no attention. Not because he didn't care, its just when you've been alive as long as he and done things that no mortal could comprehend, a few disgruntled humanoids paid little importance in his mind at all. Though he'd be quite happy to break their fragile bodies as if they were made of glass. Now, now, no attracting attention. Already some creatures could tell there was something not quite right with him. Most would never find the reason why.

(Well, I thought I had left)
Vedrit was about to swing his elbow at whoever had grabbed his shoulder, but saw it was the woman from earlier.
"Go ahead and drink it. My treat." he said, somewhat in a hurry
He didnt want to start a fight, considering he needed to that very moment, but he might not have a choice, "Im sure you understand that when someone's in a hurry, they dont always finish what they were doing. Now, if you'll excuse me." he said, trying to escape the womans grasp.

[Oh, well you can if you'd like.  But I felt kinda bad that I was leaving your character out.  But I was merely writing from Xizzix' crude perspective since she doesn't take notice of everyone walking through a door.]

"Well, that would be rude of me wouldn't it?"  Xizzix pushed forward.  "I'm not trying to cause any problems, but I don't think a fine gentleman like yourself would be trying to offend that hard working alien back there would you?  He was trying to be courteous, not many humans walk into this kind of establishment and it seems you were quite genteel enough to do so.  The least you could do would be to thank him for his fine services."

She flashed golden eyes at him and casually referred to the creature behind the counter staring blankly in their direction.  The alien approached the farthest corner of the bar near them and glanced at the human expectantly.  "Of course, you'll be free to go once you do.  I've no ill intentions.  Now, please."  She gently squeezed his shoulder, her grip not faltering in the slightest.

Two creatures sat either side of him, one was the common human species that seemed to infest this universe while his partner was some similarly shaped creature but had an ugly face and tendrils covering what may have been a mouth. Gulping another mouthful of the tasteless liquid he put it slowly down upon the table, ignoring his new companions. The human grabbed the glass and shattered it against the table, his mouth set in an angry scowl, veins bulged under the map work of scars upon his face. He oozed intimidation, which was having apparently no affect to the man sitting next to him.

"You got the credits to pay for that too then?" The barkeep's thug asked, "Or do we have to extract them from your dead body?" The tendril'd creature across from him raised a pistol aimed for his chest. However Ihsahn was still busy examining the broken pieces of glass upon the table, much to human's discomfort. "Fragile..." Picking up one of the pieces slowly he handled it curiously in his hand, "Fascinating. The human lost his temper and gripped Ihsahn's hand tight crushing the glass into his skin. Normally he'd feel bone and muscle pulsing under the tight pressure, but to his avail he found it was like he was crushing steel, "You listening to me smartarse!?" Ihsahn turned slowly to him, eyes flashing a bright green. "You dare to touch me?" A spark of his old self returned, he despised the touch of dirty flesh, impure, imperfect.

Crushing the hand that held his like a guillotine bones snapped like twigs, the thug reeled back in agony groaning in agony. Not loosing his grip he raised his other hand to block the other thug's blaster. Red light flashed and seemingly scorched the flesh upon the palm of his hand. It showed a tiny glimpse of dark silver before the skin regenerated in seconds. A spark of green light shot from his fingertips into the blaster causing it to overload and explode in its owner's hand. The smell of burning skin filled the air as the alien collapsed on the floor gripping what remained of its forearm, face scorched with by laser. Still groaning the human tried to escape Ihsahn's deadly grip swinging a punch at his face, again the sound of bone breaking rang through the C'tan's audio preceptors.

"I'll kill you goddamit! I'll gut you like a fuc-" Ihsahn's smile had long since vanished and turned into a cruel scowl as he slammed the human's head into the table and pushed him out of the booth, finely crushed glass glittered in the air for a moment. The thug lay unconscious on the floor while the other alien groaned in its foreign langauge. Ihsahn sat quietly re-examining the broken shards on the table, oblivious to the many shocked faces from the rest of bar's patronage. "So fragile. The C'tan muttered before looking up to see where his female cyborg friend had gone.

Vedrit wasnt the kind of person not to give thanks, when reminded to.
"Thank you for your services." Vedrit said, before turning to the woman "Everything as it should be?" He asked, not trying to sound as if he were just saying things to make her let go, although thats what he was pretty much trying to do.
Do be honest, he really didnt much care for this woman. Nothing personal, but he just didnt really like people who chose to forsake their humanity for the glamor of cybernetic implants, beyond what was needed to be in contact with the rest of the universe.
