Amristah Angels - Abandon No One!

The Amristah Angels
Combat Medic Field Surgeon Squadron

When angels fall with broken wings, I can't give up, I can't give in, When all is lost and daylight ends, I'll carry you and we will live forever, for ever

I. About the Angels

The Angels are the saviors of the battlefield. Despite their name though, they are daredevils usually with some thrill-seeking issues and adrenaline junkies. They are the Pilots daring and reckless enough to run out before it has been declared safe to do so. They are both soldiers and medics trained to both fight and defend. Angels must be physically strong enough to carry the weight of another on their shoulders as well as all their gear and equipment. They are also incredibly resourceful, able to think quickly on their feet in order to use limited tools to preform the necessary life-saving surgeries needed to get the wounded into a stable enough state to be transported elsewhere for further care.

They do not have a set combat doctrine, as their main focus is on getting as many wounded and dying out and saved as they can. Due to this, Angels must be moderate to strong telepaths, in order to remain psychically linked at all times on the field. This effectively allows them to not only communicate across the field with each other but to work as a virtual hive mind during complex procedures that require concentration and delicateness. For this reason they are incredibly selective of who they let into their ranks.

When not serving in the field, Angels are expected to be training doing either simulations or rotations in the Amristah hospital. They deal in trauma surgery in order to keep their skills honed and up-to-date. Additional training exercises also consist of simulations and workouts (lots of weight-lifting and weighted running). Field exercises have the Angels practicing in the wastes where they perform a twisted form of doctors without borders at some of the wasteland settlements. Better to perform that new technique on a Waster than lose a good Pilot over it.

Angels Headquarters is currently located in the west wing of Amristah's hospital and is called Gan Eden.

II. Objectives

  • Get in
  • Save as many as you can
  • Get out
  • Repeat!

The Angels are specially designed to be a healing force, first and foremost. They're trained and equipped to enter the front lines and get right into the thick of it, treating fallen brethren and dragging them out of harm's way. This is done by any means necessary. That is not to say though that they are not also soldiers. They will defend their lives and those under their charge with the same fire and prowess with which they heal.

IV.Squad Roles
[These are specific sub-roles that are fulfilled by specific members of the squadron to form the full unit. The basic structure is that of a ten man squadron, headed by the two commanding officers, the Squadron Commander and Squadron Leader. This particular role structure differs wildly from team to team, based on that particular team's specific modus operandi (ie. a stealth based team will have far more supporting/stealth based operatives versus heavy weapons experts).]

At times the Angels will break into separate teams in order to cover more ground and help more people at a time. Each team is meant to have enough similar abilities across them in order to perform the same duties. That is not to say though that members cannot be switched as needed.

TEAM A:
Commander Blu Moon as Lead: Retrocognitive
Rain: Biokinetic
Mercy: Electrokinetic

TEAM B:
Squad Leader Sidney Dawson as Lead: Hemokinetic
Rose: Electrokinetic
Grayson: Dermakinetic
Viktor: Telekinetic

V. General History

Pilot Royal Blu Moon had served as a Combat Medic during the Edani War. She also was often in trouble with her commanding officers for breaking protocols in order to race out onto battlefields to search for the wounded and dying. It sickened her to know good soldiers were dying in droves simply because it was impossible to recuse them and get them to a hospital fast enough.

Those sentiments and memories would haunt her for over a decade before she finally became fed up enough to do something about it herself. She formerly approached Amristah's PR department about instating a new squad. Blu argued that doctors and surgeons at DoSaM were all fine and good in times of peace but were virtually useless during times of war or mass casualties. They were not trained to deal with the pressure of the field anymore than another squadron's combat medic would be prepared to handle the complex surgical needs that might be required of them. However, a highly trained squad that could fly at a moment's notice to the front-lines of any problem and be ready to both defend and heal would be indispensable.

So was born one of the newer squads. PR gave a nice spin twist on them making them purple as a joke towards the newly appointed Squad Commander and naming them Angels for the task expected of the team. Currently, Commander Moon has been working hard to find the best of the best recruits and train them to expect the worst and perform the impossible.
