Blundering Baby Face
« on: April 27, 2008, 12:14:33 pm »
Stars flickered in the dark abyss of space, a face reflected in a clear window as the man drifted about the nothingness.  All vital signs were down, only a shallow breath showed that the man was in  fact alive.  How long had it been since h lost all power?  A week?  Two weeks?  He was not human, but even his body needed nourishment.  Pains of thirst and hunger rocked his body to the very core, making eyelids close tightly over cyan ovals.  Tears streaked along his round cheeks, tumbling to the knees of the baby blue jump suit he wore.

"Aye..."

That single word left his lips as if it were his last breath, his afro pressing softly into the plush leather seat.  It had been days since he last ate, but his features were still soft and babyish; Baby Face was not the man's alias for no reason.  An adam apple trembled for a moment, a cough erupting from his lips.  His heart hic-upped and he leaned forward, the palm of his right hand catching saliva.  Crows feet popped at the crooks of the man's eyes as the violent bursts of air continued, blood trickeling between the slits of his fingers.  Those crimson droplets would descend to the floor, shattering into red shards.  Was he ready to die?  Was he?

Again, he leaned back into his seat, plush lipes dyed by the color of his plasma.  Deep breaths made his chest heave and then lower, his heart beat throbbing in his temples.  Had a lived a full life?  He assumed so, but that did not matter now.  No one would carry on his name, and he would die a virgin...  How sad.  A hand seemed to grip his heart, and he let out a little cry of agony.  Tears fell freely from his eyes, mouth now agape as he howled into the hollowness of space.

"I'm too young...  Too young...  Too young!"

Beads of sweat popped up about his face as he clenched his fists.  The boy was eighteen-years-old, and he actually had not lived a full life.  He still held onto his V-card--what woman would love a baby face--and he had not even had a girlfriend.  Maybe I was too shy?  he thought as he continued to torment himself within the confines of his cranium.  Fists beat at the arms of his chair as he shook violently, body spasming as its need for nourishment rose.  Muscles cramped throughout his figure, eyes bulging within their sockets.

Lips pulled taughtly over the ivory of his teeth, tongue lulling out; water, water was what it craved, not the stagnant air that surrounded it.  Fingers dug into the arms of the chair as he thrust his hips forward, his body devouring itself as it searched for protein, fats and carbohydrates.  Unlike a human, his body would withstand hunger and thirst until the last possible moment--which sadly for him was now.  Moisture was ripped from his flesh, making his skin crack and blister.  Sores broke out across his lips as a dry cry escaped the depths of his throat.

"Please...  Please...  Please...  Don't...  No..."  fat was stripped from his body, leaving a lean, skeletal being in the seat where Baby Face once sat.  Once round cheeks were now prominent and sharp, a butt chin jutting out where a soft chin used to lay.  Fingers tore at the collar of his blue jumper, clawing at his neck.  Long, red lines appeared where is fingernails scraped across the dry protective organ.  Flakes of dead flesh fell into his lap, and he fell from his seat onto the cool floor of the craft.  Convulsions grasped his body, his figure grooving like a fish out of water.  His body crashed against various instruments of the fighter craft, opening up wounds that would constantly widen as time passed.

Baby Face's metabollic rate quickened, the fat that protected his vital organs now dissipating as he curled into the fetal position, hands covering his stomach.  "Just let me die...  Please... Please..."  bile poured forth from his mouth, spilling onto the ground as the man blacked out...  Stars circling above.
