It was hard not to burst into laughter as Valentina tried so, so hard to sound brave. It was too easy. Never mind that there had been a point where Aries had felt just as afraid and intimidated--she was past that now so it didn't count! Snickering, she finished cleaning between Nuriel's toes and started working on his leg, listening in on Atara's conversation.

"You did?" Arrow asked Finaa, eyebrows raised. She actually cried? That made Arrow feel a little better about her own fear, knowing that it was nothing unusual or shameful, and it even made her feel a little proud that she at least hadn't burst into tears or anything.

Feeling a little more confident and reassured, she picked up a sponge, soaked it in soapy water, and started to scrub the dragon's scales, and she was about to ask Finaa something else when the blonde Pilot's outburst grabbed both she and Finaa's attention.

"Nothing!" Gabriel snapped in response, though his cheeks had darkened and he was pointedly staring at Finaa's eyes, because everything below that was jiggly and distracting and a lot more of his candidate than he wanted to see! Not to mention his baby sister! But here they all were, lured here by a lecherous Pilot and his dragon, and Rachel--what was she doing? Bart was shirtless and she was practically pressing herself up against him, her in her one-size-too-small bikini that she was practically popping out of (both in the top and in the bottom) as she tried to reach Nuriel's teeth.

Gabriel felt himself go rigid with horror. But just before he could say something, Nuriel cut in.

Invite Roman instead?!

"Don't you DARE!" he said, trying to keep the sudden panic out of his voice. Roman would love this. Roman would love this way too much. He would wallow in this and objectify these girls--and his sister and candidate, his babies!--and he would just not have that! He'd order all the bikinis small! Or worse yet, have them do it naked!

"Don't you even think about inviting him, Nuriel, or I'll--"

"Yo, Gabe!" a new, male voice suddenly called from across the way, and Gabriel turned to see Shiloh, that new obnoxious Pilot, striding off toward where the other dragons were. And he was wearing a shit-eating grin as he eyed Gabriel. "Thanks fer givin' Finaa tha' extra assignment, bro!" he said, and snapped a cocky salute before passing the group by to go find his dragon.

Gabriel stared uncomprehendingly, blinking slowly. Extra assignment? What was he talking abou--NO!

Finaa was NOT! With HIM?!

With a gasp of horror and realization, blood draining from his face, Gabriel left his post, but only so he could drag Finaa into a protective hug, arms crushing her head against his chest.  "Finaaaa, NO! Not HIM! You could do so much better! You DESERVE so much better, to be treated right and be given good things! So why? Why HIM?"

Rachel froze for a second in the midst of her brother's freak-out, then rolled her eyes. She was...fairly used to this, sadly, and anyway, his attention was on the other girl (poor thing) so hey! At least she had a distraction!

Turning her attention back to Bart, she did her best to feign fright and pressed her side close to Bart's, leaning into him. "So he won't bite?" she said, gazing up at him from beneath her lashes and, tentatively, reaching forward with her brush to try and scrub an incisor. In doing so, her tragically small top shifted just a little too much, and a bit of nipple popped out of her top. She pretended not to notice. "Am I doing it right?"

"Nuriel, this is sooo not romantic, but A for effort!" she told the dragon. At least he got them close together.

Syvli couldn't help but stiffen up a little when Atara scooted closer to her. It was like a reflex now. Whenever the white haired candidate ever got close to her anymore the only thing her body would end up doing was freeze up. Even if she tried to stop herself from doing it never ended up going the way she wanted to.

Rather than say anything in reply she just frowned a little. What was there for her to say? Even if she did say something what good would come of it? Most likely nothing. She didn't even know what she could say to help Valentina. Though the girl seemed to be handling herself just fine.

The only time she ended up looking up from what she was doing was when Gabriel started to have his freak out. Then again who wouldn't have heard that? She didn't even really understand what was going on though. Not wanting to be caught staring or anything, she quickly went back to scrubbing.

What was Atara's problem!? Gah! The older candidate just infuriated her! She dropped her sponge and spun to face the blonde. "Is this what you do for kicks? Huh?" Her voice was getting higher and more cutting with each word. "Pick on lower level candidates? Why is that? Are you not strong enough to pick on those on your level? Is that why you stoop to picking on us?" She kept clenching and unclenching her fists. She wasn't so far gone to forget the official consequences of actually hitting the older girl.

She turned to face the other older candidate. "And you! You don't even try to stop this! You practically encourage it! How can you look at yourself?" The venom in her voice was clear. She was getting angrier with every word but it felt good to rant at the two older girls. Their later retribution would probably make her regret this outburst but she was not going to allow herself to be picked on.

The sponge flew into the fairy's hand but it went unnoticed in her rage. "And you Syvli! You do nothing to stand up to these bullies! You're practically as bad as them." She couldn't be around these three any more. With an exclamation of frustration, she took to the air. She would clean the top of the dragon and everybody else could just deal with it. Hopefully Nuriel wouldn't mind a rough cleaning.

Atara grinned at the little fairy, "We aren't allowed to pick on candidates our own level. And it's a time honored tradition to pick on those weaker than you. Toughen you up." She had gone through the same terror and violence when she had been a gracie. And had gotten stronger, learned to fight back, to fight first.

Blowing a kiss as the girl took off, she wrapped an arm around Sylvi, "It's because Sylvi doesn't really want me to stop. She likes it." Leaning down, she pressed a kiss to the girl's cheek.

At the girl's outburst, Finaa turned, confused when the baby of the group was suddenly flying away when she noticed Shiloh walking by. Perking up, she gave her best friend a wave, "Oh! Arrow, that's my frie-"

Then Gabe was yelling and his arms were around her head, smothering her. What the fuck was going on?! She tensed in panic, ready to fight her way free when she realized it was just Gabe having a freak out. She tugged at his arms, her voice muffled, "Gabe! Stop that! Let me go! You are being a weirdo!"

Bart jerked up, staring at Gabe, confused, "Gabriel? What the fuck?" The blond was having a serious melt down, screaming loudly and molesting the head of a half naked girl with huge breasts.

He was trying to figure out what to do about Gabriel when suddenly his sister was pressed against his side. That got his attention fast and it was hard to pay attention to anything but that.

Oh Gods! Was that nipple?!

"Uh..." Bart coughed, his face bright red, "Rachel...uh...your. ..top...."

Oooh, things were getting more interesting by the second. The little winged one had claws!

Aries burst into giggles when the faerie's wrath was aimed at her. How could she look at herself? "I dunno, I use a mirror? Dumbass," she laughed, watching the girl flit up to the top of the dragon's head. But at least that one had a spine. That outburst alone automatically earned the girl several respect points in her book, because there was nothing worse, or more boring, than a pushover.

Like the girl her friend was currently tormenting.

"Whatcha doing way up there, anyway? Too good for us?"

Arrow could only stare in wide-eyed, open-mouthed confusion as a tall Pilot clung to Finaa, and she took a step back to put some distance between them. The initial 'attack' had about scared the crap out of her, but now it was less freaky and more trainwrecky. What the...?

"There're so many other candidates! Nice candidates! But him? Whyyy? He's an asshole! You can say 'no'!" Gabriel was saying, but as Finaa started squirming and telling him to stop, he finally, with some reluctance, let her go. But the worry was still there.

Shiloh was a new Pilot, but Gabriel had known him even as a candidate and knew him as a Pilot, too--and he knew him for being violent and mean. He'd earned a reputation as a bully when he'd been a candidate, he'd cut Vaughan's throat as a Pilot, and he was just generally prone to that kind of behavior. And he was sleeping with Finaa? With that kind of reputation under his belt? As a Pilot in a position of power over her?

Gabriel hated that guy.

He took a deep breath to calm himself. "I'm sorry, Finaa, but--him? Do you know what he's like? Are you okay?"

"Hmm?" Rachel blinked and looked up at Bart, and her expression was genuinely puzzled as she saw his blush. She knew her top was small, but it wasn't like he hadn't seen her in this before.

"What? What about my--oh." That was when she looked down and saw that her top had shifted, and with an embarrassed laugh that was more amused than embarrassed, she reached up and tucked herself back in.

"Whoops. Welp. That'll happen with bikini tops," she said, adjusting it while trying to keep from falling back out. "I can't even count the number of times I've gone swimming and I've lost it completely. Do a cannonball and it's all over. Why'd you get me such a small top, anyway?" she added, but winked to show she was teasing. Maybe she should have been more mortified about the situation, but she'd long ago learned to laugh off her awkwardness, and she'd rather be laughed with than at.

Sylvi frowned a little at Valentina's outburst, especially when it was directed at her after Atara and Aries. Oops. It wasn't like she hadn't tried to stand up to Atara. She had and it just proved to never get her anywhere. Though maybe her half attempts weren't really good enough. Well she'd just have to talk to the fairy later..when she was calm...and say..something. Was she supposed to apologize?

She cringed a little when Atara was close again and kissed her cheek. "I don't like it." she said, trying to get away from the girl again. "You're the only one that thinks it's that way."

Well she hadn't meant to be late. She just had some homework she needed to finish up and she was sure she was going to get it done before everything started. It had ended up taking longer than she expected. She'd handle anything she'd have to do because of being late though. It couldn't be too bad.

It was nice that she pretty much knew her way around so she could get to the area herself just fine. However getting there in a bikini was another obstacle all in itself. She had grabbed one earlier before going to do her homework. Once she was done she figured she'd just change into and go. Well it was smaller than she imagined and even though her chest was nothing compared to Rachel's and some of the other candidates, it still wasn't something to scoff at. So at times she'd fall out a little and have to fix everything again. That was okay though. It wasn't too bad.

Felicity glanced over the walls of the elevator as the thoughts passed around her head. She was actually pretty excited. She never saw much of the lower stage candidates or anything so this would be an interesting way to meet people..or well..see them again anyway. Maybe she could actually get names to faces. Once the elevator stopped she quickly focused on what she was doing and stepped out, immediately noticing where everything was going on. How could anyone not?

No names came to the faces that she saw. Well except Gabriel's and that was only because he was her mentor. She couldn't even recall there being mention of him being there. Maybe she had missed it or something. Oh well. The small girl smiled a bit and walked over to where Gabriel was clinging to someone in what she could only guess was a freak out..that she had missed the beginning of. "Hi Gabe~. Sorry for being late."

Atara rolled her eyes, "God. You are so boring now." Sylvi had been kind of fun before, but now she didn't do anything. No reactions, dull, uninteresting and no point in talking too. All she did was...stand there like a lump. Good tactic she supposed.

But the winged one, she would be fun, "Come down little pixie. Let's play together."

Finaa flushed, rather embarrassed to have been the center of all of this yelling. About her choices in sexual partners as well. She wasn't ashamed that she slept with Shiloh, but she also didn't like it screamed around the room like it was a bad thing. Crossing her arms under her ample chest, Finaa glared at Gabriel, "Of course I know that. We've been sleeping together since we were candidates. And I know what he's like a hell of a lot more than you do! Have you ever talked to him? Or just assumed he was some stupid lower caste loser? Didn't bother to actually look beyond the surface, did you?!"

She knew she probably shouldn't have snapped, not in front of other candidates and the dragons. Finaa quickly composed her face, bowing her head, "Sir. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken to you like that."

Bart stared at Rachel's chest, trying so hard to not think about her losing her top. He was really not sure what to do with all this. She was a child, for fucks sake and he needed to not be thinking about this. Maybe he was over due to visit the brothel. Because his mind was quickly going down the gutter.

Finaa and Gabriel's argument grew somewhat heated and he looked over, frowning, though it was a good distraction from Gabriel's attractive and mostly naked sister, "What is going on over there?"

Gabriel blinked at Finaa's passionate defense of Shiloh, taken aback, and even after she had finished it took a moment before he could figure out how the hell to even respond to that. It was...true that he hadn't really talked much to the other Pilot, except when they'd been forced to work together, and he hadn't really known him as a candidate except as some violent, antagonistic, anti-social kid--the sort of person he avoided, not because he was anti-social (hell, he loved the anti-social ones!) but because of everything else.

Yeah, he judged him. Not because he was lower caste, but because he was a dick.

...Okay, a stupid dick, too. But c'mon, he was dull as a butter knife.

"No, you shouldn't have," he finally said, and took a deep breath. "And I shouldn't have assumed."

That was when Bart got his attention and he turned, quickly waving a dismissive hand. "Uh, nothing, sir! It's all under control!" he said, blinked again when he saw how close his sister was, but before he could think further on it, another voice grabbed his ear.

Felicity, his new candidate. Gods above. Why did all his candidates have to be girls?

"Just don't it again," he told her, then motioned awkwardly to the buckets and brushes and sponges. "I guess, uh...grab some stuff and get started."

Guh. How was Nuriel so awesome and yet so big of an ass?

"Oh, I'm sure it's nothing," Rachel cut in, nudging Bart in the arm. "He's just being a spas, probably."

Not far off from the group, Shiloh had just finished saddling Amaranth...a task which shouldn't have taken as long as it did, except he'd been idly listening in on Gabriel and Finaa. He had just wanted to observe the freak-out (though he felt a little bad for making things awkward for his friend)--and had not expected to, in the midst of it all, hear Finaa backing him up.

He moved slowly, straining to hear, and felt a surge of both gratitude and...embarrassment . It was nice being defended, and what Finaa had to say was flattering and unexpected, but...

Still kind of embarrassing; he kept himself facing the deep-red dragon and felt his ears burning.

Finally, he pulled himself up in the saddle, adjusted his gear and belted himself in, and gave Amaranth the signal to take off. Stretching briefly, she made her way to the roof's edge, but just before she launched into the air she turned and flashed Nuriel a long, meaningful look that seemed oddly warm for a dragon.

"I will return shortly," she told Nuriel, voice a mechanical purr, before she leaped into the air and snapped her wings open.

Sylvi let out a sigh of relief when Atara mentioned her being boring. That was fine with her. If it got the crazed woman to leave her alone she was happy. She frowned when the girl turned her attention to Valentina though. "Don't mess with her, Atara.." Sylvi said, frowning a bit.

Felicity tilted her head a little at Finaa's outburst. She really didn't pay too much attention to it though. It was aimed towards Gabriel so she didn't need to listen into it. She shrugged her shoulders a little at it and just glanced at Gabriel again when he started to talk.

"I won't~" she said, smiling happily. She walked over to the buckets, a slight bounce in her step. She grabbed a sponge and made sure it was lathered up with bubbles before going over to the dragon then. She was a little surprised that there were so many candidates participating. It shouldn't take too long to clean the dragon then.

Atara flicked a glance over to Sylvi, then smiled, still scrubbing along the dragon's sleek hide, "Well, you bored me. I had to find a new toy." Leaning a little closer, her voice a whisper just for Sylvi, "And everything that happens to her? Will be your fault."

Straightening up, Atara pressed a finger to Sylvi's chest, giving her a light shove, "Now go away, boring, dull little thing. No one wants you around."

Nuriel made a pleased sound at Amaranth, stretching one wing out in an odd sort of wave. He then turned his attention back to Gabriel, though only his eye moved, his huge jaw still open for Rachel and Bart to clean, "Gabriel? You are very tense. Maybe you would like one of the girls to give you a back rub? I am told they are very soothing?"

He enjoyed messing with Gabe, but this was just awkward and uncomfortable, not as much fun. Watching him hug Finaa and scream had been funny though. He wanted more of that again. And he was getting rather annoyed that his fun time was being ruined.

And one thing that most Pilots learned quickly was that an annoyed Nuriel was a very bad thing.

Finaa nodded her head, still a little flushed and twitchy from the adrenaline rush her yelling had caused, "Yes sir. I wont."

And she stayed mad at Gabe for about two more seconds before she melted, reaching out and taking his hand, "Come on. You should come help. Then it can be over soon and maybe you'll stop acting so...spastic. You can even pick the music." Finaa smiled brightly at Gabe, in full on mommy mode now. Gabe might be her mentor, but there was something about him that she liked to take care of.

Well, seemed like things with Gabe were calming down. Bart was feeling a little lost about the whole thing. And it was a little unnerving when he and Amaranth were all...together. His mind rebelled at the very idea of where that thought was going and quickly switched gears.

To the fact there was a very attractive girl very close to him. With highly distracting legs. There were in fact, far too many pairs of unclad and distracting legs around, but her's were the most distracting. And he was still feeling a little warm faced from the glimpse of nipple.

"Uh...so...yeah...ya should know how ta clean teeth an' stuff now. I should probably be helpin' yer brother out..."

She ignored them and continued scrubbing. There was little else she could do and she was at a loss of how to proceed. Screaming hadn't done much besides give the two older girls even more to laugh at her over. Atara probably wouldn't be leaving her alone now and, if Valentina did anything, she would either get beat up or in trouble with the Pilots. Maybe even both!

The fairy rocked back into a kneeling position. So. What to do? She couldn't just be passive, it would drive her insane! Apparently the Pilots wouldn't do anything if Atara was able to get away with bullying so obviously. The older girl's comment about "tradition" didn't help much either.

That really only left her one option, one that sickened her. She would have to try and be friends with Atara and Ares. If she was successful, she could find the girl's weakness. Hiding something from a person that could read your mind would prove very challenging. Hopefully she'd be able to pull it off.

She took a breath and a chance before heading back down to try and get chummy with Atara. "Nuriel. How come the bullying is allowed? There must be better ways to toughen us up than to let us rip each other to shreds." She really didn't expect a response but it felt good to ask. Hopefully something could be done before she had to do anything too drastic.

The frowned stayed on Sylvi's lips. She wasn't happy that Atara was going to pick on Valentina next. She didn't want to be picked on either but still... "You can find someone else to mess with." She squeezed the scrub brush a little at the next comment, causing her knuckles to turn white. "It won't.."

Since it was only a light shove Sylvi was able to just take a step back and keep her balance. "I'm not going anywhere."

Felicity glanced around a little again at everyone that was there as she started to scrub Nuriel. There wasn't really anyone she personally knew besides Gabe. That was no fun at all. It meant more conversation listening than talking. She puffed out her cheeks slightly at that thought. She'd just have to find a place to fit into a conversation.

"What?" Gabriel blurted, then shook his head quickly and felt his face redden. Getting a back massage by a half-naked, soaped-up candidate half his age (okay, that was an exaggeration, but still, they were practically children!) was not his idea of a good time. More like awkward and uncomfortable and pedophile-making. Soothing? It would have him in knots!

"No, no, that's alright! I'll pass, heh. So! Finaa! About that music!" he said, whirling to face her and trying hard to look anywhere but at her breasts. Which was difficult, because they were large and there. Just because he liked guys didn't mean he wasn't transfixed by boobs. They were distracting. And bouncy. And it probably had something to do with the whole primal nature everyone-eats-from-boobs-in-the-beginning thing.

And if he noticed, everyone else probably did too. And they shouldn't be making pervy eyes at Finaa! She was too young.

"Right. Music! I'm warning you, though, I've got eclectic tastes...and...guh, you should probably really cover up," he said abruptly, and stripped off his shirt, holding it out to her. Bart was here, too, after all, that perv.

Rachel blinked when Bart said he was going to leave. "What?" she said, then touched his arm. "Oh no! Lookit him! He's fine." And...shirtless? Rachel quirked an eyebrow, was he tattooed, too? But then she turned her attention back to Bart and smiled.

"It looks like he has everything under control. And knowing my brother, he does." Bullshit. Her brother could be crazy sometimes. "Besides, I'm just not sure I can reach all the deep areas, you know? I'm not tall enough. I may need a boost up."

She smiled brightly at him, hopefully. "Stay?"

Hmph. Fine. Let the fae ignore her. Huffing in irritation and growing bored, with Atara occupied with Sylvi and the other candidates either ignoring her or in conversation, Aries zeroed in on the late girl. Picking up her bucket and sponge, Aries took her gear over to where she was and plopped them down nearby.

"Yo!" she said, waving. "Whatcha doin' over here all by your lonesome, eh?"

Was...Gabe staring at her boobs? Finaa put a hand on her hip, thrusting her chest out a bit. After his comments about Shiloh, he deserved to be made a little uncomfortable. And she was already threatening to pop out of it, "Cover up? Why? I'm just in a swimsuit Gabe. What's wrong with that? Your sister's suit is smaller. And since when do you notice my boobs?"

She gestured to where Rachel was getting quite close to Bart again, "She seems to be getting along with Pilot Hamilton well." Smile.

"Uh...I donno. He's strippin'...I would have thought the girls would be safe." Bart glanced over at where Gabriel was stripping. How was he the pervert here and Gabe was strippin' and hanging around the candidates.

Because you are shirtless. And Rachel's boob is showing again. Nuriel's comment had Bart's eyes going back to Rachel's chest. Where it was, in fact, nipple showing again. He really needed to have gotten her a bigger top.

Bart jerked his eyes away, flushing again, "Well, why don't ya just call me if ya get stuck." It was so hard to not stare at her very attractive chest.

Atara rolled her eyes, "Look Sylvi, I could care less. Go away. You bore me." The girl was utterly uninteresting. And now Aries has left her! Rude! Atara huffed, crossing her arms under her breasts, glaring at her friends back.

She was not getting stuck with the loser.

Sylvi was going to say something but stopped when she noticed Aries walking off. A small smile crossed her lips. "Seems like she got tired of listening to you, Atara. Bet that feels nice." Probably not an entirely smart thing to say..

Felicity had been so engrossed in her own thoughts of some how finding her way into a conversation that she hadn't noticed Aries moving her way over. She also hadn't noticed that she had taken to scrubbing Nuriel a little bit harder than necessary. It was just things that happened when she tended to get lost in thought or try to concentrate on something too hard.

So when Aries spoke up, the small girl jumped slightly and gave a slight squeak. The sponge she had also slipped out of her hands but with some quick fumbling she managed to catch it before it hit the floor. After that matter had been settled she look at Aries, a smile already present on her lips. "Hm? Oh! Just listening to what's going on at the moment since everyone else already seems to be preoccupied with one another."

"'Cause you're close to bursting!" Gabriel exclaimed, pushing the shirt into Finaa's arms. "Just--just put it on. We're not talking about Rachel, we're talking about you."

And the truth of the matter was that as much as Rachel's current situation horrified him (who the hell had picked such a skimpy two-piece out for her?), he had learned through eighteen years of being her brother that if he said anything, she would just up the amp. So he didn't dare.

He would, however, have a conversation with Bart about it later.

"Oh, c'mon, he's a prude. The girls are fiiine," Rachel said, pressing against Bart's arm. "Besides, I am stuck. I told you I can't reach that far into his mouth." Still peering up at him, she made sad eyes at him.

Aries chuckled and wet her sponge, soaping it up so she could get back to scrubbing the dragon. "Pffft, that's no fun. Ya gotta just butt in, kid. Make yourself part of the action," she said. "Oh yeah, I'm Aries, by the way. Felicity, right?"

Both of them were Stage Fours, but while Aries had classes and training with the other girl, they'd never really talked much outside of that.

"So? What's wrong with bursting out?" Finaa was going to make Gabe flail a little more. Reaching up, she tugged at her top a little more, flashing just a hint of a nipple at Gabriel, "It's just a little nudity."
