Learning to deal with people who don't know how(Rina~)
« on: May 10, 2010, 06:04:23 pm »
Kyung dragged himself to gym, but he seemed no different from usual. Tall, pale, and lanky, he still hadn't gained any muscle from when he started. He definitely got the endurance though, since he could keep up with the classes now. Currently, he was wondering who would be teaching his class today, and what they'd be doing. Running laps? Push ups? Whatever it was, it'd be just another grueling day at the complex.

Absently, he fingered his ear, arriving at the locker room. He walked in to change, just barely brushing past someone else who was standing near the doorway.

He couldn't stay in the medical wing forever and his face was pretty much all healed. He had an eyepatch, though it was still just a white patch, taped over the hole where his eye had been. He was hoping to get a real patch, but for now this was alright.

He had gym now, and was somewhat looking forward to that. He liked working out and sitting in that hospital bed had made him antsy. He was still getting used to half his field of vision being gone and didn't notice how close one of the other candidates was until he felt his shoulder brushed.

Startled, Nika jerked away, twisting to face the other boy. That was unpleasant. Nika didn't like being so unaware of his surroundings. He blinked, suddenly recalling that he was supposed to be working on his people skills. "Oh, excuse me. I didn't see you."

Kyung bowed his head in apology, turning to walk past him. Oh right. He was supposed to reply... Working on his people skills, since Bart said it was a good idea. "Its... okay," he replied awkwardly, before continuing on his way into the locker room.

He'd barely even noticed, but the eye patch drew his attention. How did he get hurt there? He pushed the thought away, deeming it rude to ask about it.

Nika quickly smiled, his expression pleasant. He wasn't really sure what else to say, not really being used to dealing with introverted people. They tended to avoid him and he didn't really see much point in talking to them. He didn't actually like talking to people.

But he was supposed to be working on interactions, he was just still unsure how he was supposed to go about that. He noticed the other boy staring at his eye patch. One hand came up to touch it. He was still getting used to it, "A Pilot did it." He still actually didn't know why it had happened, just that the red haired Pilot hadn't liked something about him.

Kyung nodded, unsure of how to respond to the smile. His own was somewhat of an awkward grimace, but it was an attempt nonetheless. He never tried to smile, except around Bart. The plain eye patch indeed drew his attention, but he didn't stare. Or rather, he tried not to, but his curiosity made him do so. When Nika replied to his unspoken question however, he was slightly startled. He was also a candidate... was his expression so blatantly questioning, or did the other boy have telepathy like Bart?

"I see... Does it... hurt?" he inquired haltingly, half out of interest and half out of an attempt to try and go through with this "improving your people skills" mission that Bart had sort of assigned to him. He stood next to him awkwardly, shifting from foot to foot. "I'm... Kyung, by the way. Kyung Kuroki."

Nika's smile was beautiful, perfect and well practiced. He had been letting his mask slip lately, with all the stress from being stuck here. But that needed to stop, he needed to learn to get along with everyone.

Reaching up, Nika brushed the hair away from the patch, showing it off better, "Not anymore. They gave me some drugs for the pain and it's mostly healed now. I am Nika Argan, it is nice to meet you." He wasn't really sure if he was supposed to bring up the fact his mother was the famous actress or not, so he chose not too. Most people seemed to figure it out based on his resemblance to her and the last name.

Deeming the response to be the end of the conversation, he nodded and headed towards the lockers. That the conversation had been a good one because he had learned Nika's name and of something that happened to him. Or so he thought. That should be enough... Nika Argan... he thought, taking note that he seemed like an odd and interesting person. Of course, he'd probably be freaked out to be observed by one of his classmates, so he decided on just leaving him alone.

Required interaction was really all he needed... it was more than enough. He had no desire to come out of his shell... well, he did sort of. He wanted to be around the dragons... and apparently the dragons were social creatures. He sat down on the bench, in front of his locker.

Nika blinked, slightly confused when the boy walked away. He had thought conversations went on longer than that. Apparently he was wrong or...maybe he should get advice from Roman. No. He had his list and he could do this. He could talk to people, he just needed to get his flow back.

He hated this place. It threw him, when he had to be around these stupid people all the time. But he would beat this and become a Pilot. And then....oh then he would have such sweet control.
