Forever young (Rina)

Mark ran through the crowd with his outstretched and his lips flapping as he feebly attempted to recreate the sound of a craft in flight. The people in the crowd moved out of his way seemingly by an unknown force. There was a sort of oval gap in the crowd which surrounded Mark as he continued on his endeavour. He tilted his arms and pretended to bank to the right, moving towards the outskirts of the mid-caste sector. A loose, lime green shirt hung from each arm and a pair of brown shorts warmed his thighs as he ran. Eventually, Mark ran out of breath and stopped for a second, pushing his hands against his knees to support himself as he rested.

Taking in a large breath, Mark righted himself and took a glance around. He didn’t recognise where he was. He certainly didn’t remember any of the landmarks. People walked around him, going about their business and he couldn’t understand why. He was lost, why didn’t people want to help him? Sighing and walking off in any old direction, he contemplated what to do next. Well, there was no choice in the matter. Mark would have to continue his adventure to rescue the lost relic of Kent and return it to the leader of the Hafinians. If he didn’t, there could be serious peace problems between them and the Urinates.

The lower-caste sector didn’t seem so bad, not that Mark knew he was in the lower-caste area. Mark scanned the surrounding area for something or, at least, someone to help him in his adventure. He was determined to find that relic and help the Hafinians in their time of need. Was there no stranger with a big enough heart to help him?

Yet again, there was no one at home. Pari couldn't stand being alone in the empty house. He had started to panic, so the fey boy had left. Hopefully he could find someone to talk too. And at the very least, having people around helped. There was still the cold pit of fear in his stomach that he had been left, but he could still function when there were people.

Fidgeting with his long braid, Pari scanned the area, not sure where to go next. He didn't have much money. Only what IF made him and it had been a long time since they had done any work. He had tried to have a job before, but it hadn't worked out well.

Dressed in tight capri pants, chunky heeled sandals and a lose halter top, Pari looked a little out of place in the rather grungy lower-levels. But he refused to wear anything that wasn't pretty.

He didn't pay much attention to the small boy at first, more interested in what he should go do. But Pari eventually noticed that there didn't seem to be any sort of parent with him and he looked very young. Pari wasn't really used to dealing with children, but it was better then not talking to anyone. He could still feel the fear inching its way back, threatening to spill over him.

So he headed over to the kid, tapping him on the shoulder, head tilted slightly, "Are you all alone too?"

Mark turned on his heal, using it as a fulcrum for his turn, and swiftly linking his hands behind his back and looking utterly adorable. It was the best way to interact with strangers. Except for when some of the women decided it was acceptable to touch him... Those were creepy and slightly disturbing times. Cheek pinching hurt, if only women didn’t have such long nails. Mark tilted his head up to look at the person towering over him.

A large grin spread across his features but it twitched slightly as the gender of the person dawned on him. Eurgh... He realised his faltering smile and boosted it back to the height of its childish glee. He just hoped to whatever gods there may be that this wasn’t one of those females enthralled by his cute little face. “Yes...” Mark said, taking a little step backwards and beginning to rock back and forth on his heels.

Mark wasn’t exactly a normal little boy. Having all these intelligent and fully formed thoughts but not being able to express them was a torture that only he knew of. “Can you help me in my quest to find the relic, miss?” He asked eagerly, hoping for a yes.

"Relic? Pari doesn't know any relics. What kind of relic?" Pari chewed on his lower lip, looking thoughtful. The little kid seemed like he was playing a game of some sort. He didn't seem like he was lost or hurt or anything.

And anything was better then being alone. Besides, almost no one ever wanted to play with Pari, "Do you know where to look for the relic?"

Games like this were something he wasn't really used too. Pari had never really played them growing up, but he had an idea of how they were supposed to work. You just...imagined things and ran around. He was pretty sure that's how it worked.

Mark raised a finger and opened his mouth but it closed again shortly afterwards. “No.” He said glumly. “I’m kind of lost actually...” Mark took a look around, watching all the other people before turning back. “Do you know where I am?” He asked. “Or can you at least help me find where I have to go?” The sparkle of adventure was slowly fading from his grasp. He didn’t know what the relic was. He didn’t know where it was. And he didn’t even know where he was.

Somebody bumped into Mark and he yelped, jumping forward and grapping Pari’s leg. There was a brief moment of clinging before Mark let go and looked slightly embarrassed. He looked at his feet, not wanting to admit that he was actually quite scared.

"Oh, well, Pari knows right were you are." Pari smiled brightly at the boy. He was a little disappointed he wasn't going to get to play, but that was okay too. At least he wasn't alone anymore. The panic was fading, his heart no longer pounding in his chest.

The sudden contact against his leg had Pari going still, wings fluttering with surprise. He wasn't used to people suddenly touching him, but the fact that it was a small child helped him not panic. Pari liked to touch people on his own terms.

Once he had let go, Pari huffed a little, then reached out, hugging the boy, "Don't worry! Pari will help you! Where does the little boy need to go?"
