Inali was in the engine room where she resided when she was thinking, or breathing basically. She was adjusting and poking at things that needed messed with or clean. They would take off soon. It was her last check-up on everything. Her baby looked about ready to fly. Though she was being slightly distracted from her work, as per usual and by the same person. Taros.

He sat leaning against one of the sides of the ship the cigarette in his mouth and a book in front of him. He was looking beyond it though, at the far wall of the ship the smoke curling up slowly and fading into nothing. She couldn't help but look at him out of the corner of her eyes these days. She seriously wondered how they would work back on a small quarters ship.

The Kitsune certainly enjoyed the plane missions but after being on the ground too log she started to go nuts. Most people were the opposite it seemed. She preferred the opportunity of the big black and all those stars waiting for her. Being trapped on a small ship with Taros again would be a challenge for sure. She always tried to not get to intimate with someone, but when you found someone you could trust it was difficult not to.

He was the person that she had stayed in contact with longest besides her family. She couldn't really explain why. Maybe it was because he was more than he appeared to be? She wasn't sure, couldn't put a finger on it. She trusted him though. She wasn't quite sure how that happened. He was infuriating and tempting, he challenged her. He made her crazy. The tension was bubbling between them. Except they couldn't seem to stay away from each other.

Taros's head was pretty empty compared to hers. He never claimed to be much of a thinker in the first place. His job was guns, explosions, beating heads, that sort of thing. There wasn't much room for being very intellectual, or so he had thought. Somehow Inali had started him in on reading, though right now he was ignoring it as best he could.

The thoughts in his head had grown exponentially since things started to get fuzzier with Inali. She was the first girl he had really spared a though as to what she wanted. It was irritating to think of someone else besides himself in any situation. He really wasn't use to it in more than crew type way. The thoughts just presented so much cluttered. There was a lot more room for it out here in space though.

An odd high pitched noise broke the silence of the ship. It steadily got louder, and before he could move a flesh colored blur flew through the door to the engine room and landed on Taros's head.

"HEEEEEEEEEEREEEEEEE'SSSSSSSSSSS TIIIIIIIIIIIIIKAAAA AAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!"

The pixie rat blinked her giant eyes at Inali and smiled widely showing a mouth full of tiny fangs.
"Taros miss Tika, yes? Misses her soooooo MUCH! Eyes not leak no more, Scaryman, Tika here to makes you all happy again! HAPPY HAPPY!!" She began to thump her lion's tail against the back of Taros's head quickly. "Inali, has the treats for Tika? Gives me treats cause I's been so good and only bothered Duncan a little tiny teeny bit!" She licked her lips and nodded emphatically at Inali.

The Duncan in question was in his room of the ship, scrubbing away at the wall with a washcloth. Painted on the wall of his room was now a huge tree with a stick-figured Tika sitting in the branches. Oh course he couldn't see all the wonderful details she had put in it, it just looked like a giant black blob on the wall with a creepy creature in it. From now on he was locking his door.

His brow furrowed as he continued to scrub and a string of curses left his mouth. Why-oh-why was that annoying little rat allowed on this ship? He prayed for the day when they ran out of rations and had to eat her. Duncan ran his hand over his black hair and let out a sigh. He threw the cloth at the wall, this wasn't going to work. Perhaps her blood was the only thing that could get it off the wall?

The blind hacker nodded to himself and headed down to the engine room, no doubt she was hiding in there with Taros.

As the high pitched noise ripped through the silence of the ship Inali's Kitsune ears went down against her head quickly. However a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips. Tika. That little rat had been traveling with them since they left Will and Liam. Inali felt a sadness come over her. Damn she missed those boys sometimes. Maybe someday her and Taros would meet back up with them and Tika would go with them. In a way she hoped not, she had grown attached to the little bugger over their times together. She turned to look at Taros and let the smile go full when she saw the look on his face.

Fear, he was afraid of Tika, not in like a Lord she's going to kill me way, but in a sort of she's way smaller than me and several of my parts are made of metal way. He would never admit to liking the little rat but there had been times Inali had caught Tika all curled up on his shoulder sleeping while he was cleaning his guns. It was the sort of thing that warmed your heart. He was the one that always made her treats for her. He took his cigarette out of his mouth and looked over the moment seemed impossibly slow.

BAM!

Tika landed right on his face and head. His fear went to a frown, a very grumpy irritated frown and gritted teeth. His cigarette had dropped on the floor and he started trying to look around for it but couldn't see past the creature hugging his face. Inali wiped the Etam Extracter a couple times then snapped it back into place. That part always got the dirtiest on this ship, the one that always seemed to jam up the works she tried so hard to keep clear.

Inali's ears went up again as she over to Taros she picked up the cigarette from the ground and his eyes followed her a she knelt next to him. She was playing attention to Tika where-as he was looking at her chest and the cigarette she had stolen from him. She placed the cigarette in her mouth and started reaching for a little brown leather bag tied around her waist.

"Oh, you only bothered Duncan a little Tika?" Inali gave a sad face to the little pixie rat. "I wanted you to bug him much more than that." She shook her head in disappointment but slid her fingers into the sack and pulled out a brown round sort of dried out thing that looked kind of like jerky. It was an eyeball of the little parasites that attached themselves to the ship. Slorms. Those had to be one of the most annoying things in space. But Tika liked their eyeballs, so Taros and Inali delivered. While also getting a stress reliever of plucking out their eyeballs when they attached to the ship.

"Promise Foxy next time you'll do better?" She grinned and held the treat behind her back waiting for Tika to make her promise.

The intercom clicked on and an irritated, rather high-pitched voice came through. The little indicator light next to it read "BRIDGE". "Engine room," it said, on edge, "What the fuck was that?"

Rikki sat in the pilot's chair with her feet up on one of the control panels, a romance novel in one hand and a candy bar in the other, holding down the talk button with her elbow. "If we're being shot at, I'd like to know. Maybe I might like to fight back." She doubted that was it, though. Duncan's rat-thing had been irritating them without rest since it had been allowed on the ship. That left Rikki to contemplate ow exactly such a small thing could create a noise in the engine room that could be heard from the cockpit.

Below all the sarcasm, however, Rikki was glad to be there. Her last venture had not been much fun at all; the people she'd run off with seemed to attract trouble. She'd gotten sick of it, of course; firing on other people's enemies fell under the heading of "wasting ammunition" to her. She'd snuck off in her mech the moment she'd been able to have it fixed.

Now this, this was better. A position of importance... every ship needed a pilot who knew what she was doing. She regretted having to leave the Rikkämpfer in the landing bay all the time, but, a ship! How cool was that! And a crew that was possibly less irritating and terminally dramatic than the previous one. She turned the page of the novel, trying not to smear caramel on it, and semienthusiasticall y awaited a response.

Tika's eyes grew even wider, which was quite scary because they looked like they were about to fall out of her face. She launced forward off of Taros's head and attached herself to Inali's chest.

"TAAASTYYYS!!!!!!!Foxy giveses me da Tastys and Tika promise on her four hearts she draw on Duncan's face next time!" She squeezed up against Inali's chest and held her mouth open. "Tika may even bites him on da breather if Foxy wants!"


Duncan's hand slid across the walls on his way from the room to the engine room. He knew the ship without having to feel his way around and he could also see enough to get here but sometimes he liked a little bit of assurace tha he was going the right way. Plus you never know when Rikki was going to get a wild hair and bank a hard turn for no reason at all.

He got there just in time to hear Rikki over the intercom. The Hacker slammed his hand against the button labled 'Bridge' and in his best faux-sweet voice he replied.

"Bridge, shut the fuck up and get back to your girl-porn, nothing down here concerns you."

White eyes narrowed as he looked at Tika, and he really wished at that moment he could she more detail seeing as how the vermin was attached to Inali's rather amazing rack. Duncan never usually looked right at someone, he had learned long ago that unnerved most people and usually looked off to the side of them, but right now Tika was getting a full on death glare.

"Inali, if you give her a treat and she bites my face, I swear to the Gods that I'll throw her little ass out of the air lock and look out the window untill she goes pop."

His eye darted around wildly as he pressed his back up against a wall. This was the third time that day that something like this had happened. When he was only inches tall he was not supposed to be spotted! How as it every time then that some kid could always find it weaving around people's feet? Every time it happened and every time he had to run lest he become a play toy for them. He had been caught quite a few times and being treated like a toy was not fun at all. Especially if he ended up being grabbed by some kid who had issues and had a want to throw him across their room because of some "action" going on. He was never sure but either way...it was not fun. He was not made to be thrown...he could be damaged. What would happen then? He couldn't fix himself. He had found that out when his hand broke one time. That was not a fun time at all.

Shaking the thought from his head, Ere slowly walked away from the wall and glanced around. No kid. Good! That meant he had lost them and ended up..here...wherever here was. It was best to figure out where here was then! With a nod, Ere started to roam around a little, looking at things. It was interesting to see the various doors and other things along his way but just from them he couldn't really tell where he was. 'I hope I'm not lost..'

Ere frowned a little at the thought. Being lost and being his current size was not fun. Sure he could go to his normal three foot, five inch height but doing so and running around like that took up a lot of energy and if he was lost he couldn't very well find a place to charge.

During his thoughts Ere had managed to wander near a group of people without realizing it. At least not until one of them shouted...if you could call it that. Either way if caused him to jump and quickly run into a direction...a direction that had him running into one of them. Considering his size he was no bigger than the person's foot. "A-Ah!" he squeaked when he saw what he had run into and stumbled back. He lost his footing and landed on his bottom though. He glanced up to look at the person and tilted his head when he noticed odd ears on their head. It was a girl..he figured that much because they had the large chest like most girls did. Those were scary to get hugged in to...he swore he would've gotten lost the few times that had happened to him. It was the ears that had his interest though. Humans didn't have those kind of ears. "Uh...."

Taros burst out laughing very amused at the tiny pixie rat attached to Inali's chest and talking about biting Duncan's face. Taros found that endlessly entertaining. Plus, now he had an excuse to stare right at Inali's chest without her saying a word! He was sure she would still give him a look, but it was fair game! There were things going on with it! A little rat thing to be exact.

Inali was about to tell Tika she was just kidding. Sometimes the kitsune forgot the Pixie rat had no idea what sarcasm was, no idea such a thing even existed. She was just like a young human...one that could fly and eat eyeballs...weird. Inali looked up as she was about to speak and saw Duncan looking right at Tika and threatening. She was going to diffuse the situation but now she just couldn't do that.

"If he's a mean man like this you can bite him in the breather whenever you want sweetie." She dropped a treat down at Tika then patted the little Pixie's back. "That'll teach him to be a mean man won't it Tika?" She grinned at Duncan, knowing that he couldn't quite see it, but he would be able to grasp the body language pretty easily.

Taros looked back and forth between the two of them. For some reason he had a dislike for Duncan, maybe it was how he talked to Inali, there was something weird there. Maybe it was just that he guy was a bit of an asshole. He jumped up when he noticed the tiny thing running up against a Inali's shoe. He was next to her in a heart beat. Always on the lookout for something wrong near her.

He bent at the knees and picked up the little guy at the neck with two metal fingers and brought him to eye level. Inali turned her head at the little guy looking at him trying to see what he was squinting her eyes.

"What the fuck are you?" Taros asked Ere.

Oh, no he didn’t.

No one mouthed off to Rikki like that. She had a history of beating up whoever offended her, disability or no. If he was able enough to pick a fight, he was damn well able enough to get himself to a hospital after one was over. She slammed her hand on the button. “Engine room! Maybe I should concern my foot so far up your ass, you’ll be working the fucking cockpit with me until you shit me out!” She paused for a second, then resumed her tirade. “Not like your gimp ass will be able to see the fucking buttons.”

At least she had gotten an answer, albeit an inexcusably rude one, from Duncan. She marked her page and dropped the book next to her in the seat, then hit a button for a trash compactor to throw the wrapper from the candy bar in. She wished her own mech had such amenities... a trip from Teinar to Edanith usually left her ankle-deep in detritus.

“On a more responsible note,” she said into the intercom, “are all the checks done yet? If not, how many left?” She was rather anxious to get going, but hoped it didn't show in her voice. "An answer from someone who's not gonna be a complete shit-stain would be nice this time. Over..."

Duncan's face tilted toward the ground, his top lip sliding up in a smirk, revealing sharp cainine teeth. With Inali's coy stance and Rikki's overly hostile remark, he couldn't keep a straight face.

Both of them were and endless source of enjoyment to him. Be it Inali's semi-suggestive retorts and shy little postures, or Rikki's occasional threat to claw out his eyes and really blind him, they always broke up the monotony of space. And Tika....that thing was always kept him of thinking of ways to kill the little rat.

Taros was a bit different. Duncan didn't really dislike him, but he didn't really like the gun wielding half mechanical maniac either. He could slightly feel an emotional shift between Taros and Inali when they were together, but her definatly felt one in Taros when Duncan got around her, especially when he started flirting with the the Kitsune.

It wasn't really a hate, or a jealous sort of feeling, more of a confusion. Taros could break Duncan in half, there was no question about it. Tall as he was he was still much skinnier and didn't have the bulid that Taros had. Plus Taros had lots of guns and mechanical bits that helped with inflicting pain.

But Duncan felt a little smug that he could illicit a response fron Taros without really doing anything much. He chuckled again and pressed the intercom button, he would deal with the Tika situation later....when there were less witnesses.

"Forgive my insolence Rikki, the most beautiful and talented of all pilots in all of the galaxies. I was angry due to a rat infestation and beg for your...."

He was cut off as Taros spoke and picked something up next to Inali's boot. His hand was still on the intercom button when he spoke. "What the Hell is that?"
He couldn't see anything but a very vauge and blurry shape.

Duncan reached up and clicked the implant next to his left eye. He blinked slowly and very deliberatly as his vision mode changed. He did this several times until when he opened his eyes everything organic was in bright yellow, red and orange. While the rest of the ship and the thing in Taros' hand gave off a tiny heat signature. He still couldn't quite make him out, just enough to know that the thing was humanoid.

Duncan stepped closer but stopped short of getting close as Tika detached herself from Inali's chest and crawled onto Taros' arm.

"OOOOOOOH! Is a TASTY!" She crawled closer, clawed little hands reaching for the newcomer. "Tika munching and crunching on it, yes? Looks very tasty Foxey Lady..." She turned her eyes toward Inali, as if asking permission.

Ere emitted what sounded like a squeak when he was suddenly picked up from the ground. He flailed a bit, trying to get himself back down since he hadn't realized a person had picked him up. This was definitely not going the way he wanted to! Just getting away from a little kid shouldn't have caused this many problems. So why did life decide to be mean to him today and throw this all at him at once? He was sure he hadn't done anything wrong.."P-Put me down!" Ere said quickly once he was face to face with the person who had picked him up.

He just wanted down so he could either run and hide some where or at least change to his bigger size since looking someone up close was rather frightening. He flailed a bit more and was at least glad that his hands hadn't decided to act up. If he had he was sure the person he was face to face with would've had a black eye or something stuck in them by now.

When the...what was it now...the creature thing that had made the loud noise from before started to reach out at him, his eyes went wide and he did everything possible to keep away from it. "T-Tasty? I'm not a tasty! What is a tasty?!" Ere said, still attempting to get down. "M-Muching and crunching?! L-Like eating?!" If he could go pale..he was sure he probably would've. "No no! You can't eat me! I'm not meant to be eaten!" Suddenly he wasn't trying to get away from the person holding him anymore but was more trying to attach to his face or whatever he could reach just to keep himself away from the thing that wanted to eat him. "I'm Ere! A robot! I'll tell you anything else you want to know just don't let that thing eat me!"

Inali couldn't help but grin as he looked at her. She loved watching him loose his cool. It was just too...adorable. That smile always gave her a warm feeling. It was like getting Taros to smile, but sometimes Duncan was harder. She didn't know him quite as well yet. The smile was always so warm too, it was hard to find under that exterior. She knew it was there, they were both sweethearts, under all that...mean and grumpy.

Her head was still tilted as she looked at the little guy. Fascinating. She was moving closer trying to see what he was when Tika launched herself onto Taros. Oh lord! But Taros moved quickly pulling the tiny robot into one hand and covering him up with the other.

"Back off rat." He said roughly. Inali gave him a swat on the arm.

"Don't call her that. Come here sweety." She put a hand out to where Tika was so she could crawl up her arm. "We don't eat the company. He's not a tasty."

Taros lifted his other hand peeking between them to make sure Tika didn't get any view of him. A little robot? Ere huh? Well this is a new one for sure.

"Well, Ere right? I just want to know how the hell you got here." He moved his hand off of the guy pointing at the floor of the ship. "And what you are doing here. So enlighten me." Taros spoke down to the little guy in more than just a height way.

Inali was glaring at him shaking her head.

"He's obviously scared to death." A look from Taros made her shut up and she crossed arms looking off in the other direction for a moment pouting.
