There was the blush again! It was jsut far too cute to see, and he found himself wanting to cause the younger Pilot to blush in as many ways as possible.

"It's one thing to be able to cook and bake, however not everybody can do those things well. It wouldn't surprise me if you were actually very good."

"Oh, I like to think I am pretty good." Alaric took another sip of the coffee, trying to cover his awkwardness at talking himself up, "Not as good as my teachers, but I can cook pretty well."

Perking up a little, Alaric grinned down at T'liika, "I can make you something sometime. I am always making stuff for Gabriel and Remi." Granted, Remi tended to grumble and tell him not to bother. But he just ignored that.

"Well, if you really want to bake me something, make me a cheesecake with dark chocolate swirls, and I'd be yours forever."

Gabe and Remi hmm? Well evrybody knew that Gabe was head over heels for Roman... poor boy. As for Remi, well the man was still withdrawn from his wife dying.

... Was he actually considering whom his competition might be for this one. Interesting. He'd never thought about things like that for such a long time now. With this in mind he game Alaric a serious look over.

"Sure. That is easy. Do you want chocolate or graham crust?" Alaric was grinning widely, looking rather eager, "I haven't made a cheesecake in a while. Nice to have an excuse."

His clawed hand came up to play with the end of his braid, the thick length hanging over his shoulder, "I can cook non-sweets too. If you ever want dinner. I can just make extra when I cook for Remi."

"Surprise me sweetie." Now that was a nice smile to see on Alaric, causing him to smile in return. Though he did hesitate when mention of Remi came up again. Perhaps that man would pose a little more competition then he thought. He'd have to find out.

"That would be lovely. Though I do believe that I'd hve to find a way to return your kindness."

The sweetie comment had Alaric's large ears going a darker blue. He wasn't used to pet names. Other then when he and Gabriel were being silly. But he managed to keep smiling, looking a little more flustered then he had been, "I really don't mind. I am already cooking, so making a little more just isn't that hard. You don't have to pay me back."

"It's not really paying you back, more like returning the favor. After all it's rude to accept a kindness from another person without showing them some form of appreciation." He smiled to him softly.

"If I knew ahead of time what you were making, I could always pick up a nice bottle of wine to go with it when I come over."

Alaric blinked, confused for a moment. Then it felt very awkward. He hadn't realized he had been inviting T'liika over. He had figured he would just drop the food off. But now he couldn't really back out. So he just shook his head, smiling, "I don't drink. My race doesn't have much of a tolerance."

And lacking the ability to throw up, it was risky to get too drunk. So Alaric tended to not drink often. And casual drinking wasn't likely to happen.

"So no wine then. How about instead I bring something for desert?" He couldn't bake, but he did know a little place that made the most sinful treats. "Just let me know a time and a date and I'll be there."

"Oh. Um. Sure." Alaric nodded, still feeling a little shy. He was kind of looking forward to making a new friend. So many people didn't want to talk to him because of how odd he looked. It would mean fixing up his apartment a little. As the only person who ever came over was Gabe, his various and copious geeky paraphernalia was scattered everywhere.

But he could handle that. The place could use a good cleaning up anyway. Give him some motivation for it. He gave T'liika another bright smile, "Dessert would be great. Hopefully we can make our schedules work out."

"I'm fairly certain that I can work something out with my schedual." This was not going to be something that he'd miss because of work. "Just tell me when, and I'll be there."

He reached out to swipe a little bit off coffee from Alaric's lip that he had missed licking, with his thumb. Then bringing said thumb to his own mouth to lick off.

That made Alaric pause, blinking in slight confusion. He has always thought the Royals were very busy. Roman and Bartolomeu always looked exhausted and almost never had free time. Maybe they just had more responsibilities then T'liika?

But he recovered and started to smile, going to assure the other Pilot he would do that. When he froze, feeling T'liika's thumb on his face, wiping away some coffee. He didn't move, totally unsure how to respond to that. He was used to that stuff from Gabriel, but T'liika was a stranger and his superior officer.

So he just stood there, looking rather bewildered, clutching his coffee mug, mouth half open.

It wasn't that he had less responcibilities, just that he had figured out ways to ensure certain times for himself when he wanted them, even if it meant that he had to pull longer shifts or get a little less sleep. Sometimes things were worth those efforts. Things like Alaric and his blushing.

Speaking of the boy, he looked rather shocked. He arched a brow in question. "Was I a little too forward?"

It had been a long day.

Remi was slightly buzzed as usual in the evenings. Never drinking when he had guests over, Remi was an almost closet alcoholic, or he would be if no one knew about it. It was a known fact that Remi turned to drink when work was done and he was allowed to go home, his body burned it too fast to really affect him beyond getting buzzed and hurting his throat.

Tonight was different though, it was a special night tonight. It was the anniversary of when Remi met Izyasica, his dead wife, and when he cut off the points to his ears.

So he was more far gone than usual, and oddly happy, reverting to his old self almost. His shirt was gone, probably behind a cushion on his couch, and his hair was back in a high ponytail showing off his mutalated ears, that while it was obvious there had been flesh cut, it was a sloppy job and still made it obvious he didn’t have normal human ears.

The blury blue figure could only be one person so Remi lifted his arm and waved, smiling with a “‘Eeeeey!” to follow before he wandered over, his jeans low on his hips, the scars stretched over toned tanned skin and muscle, his left nipple obviously lost beneath a particularily mean scar.  Standing beside T’liika, Remi looked over and up and blinked. “Oh, didn’ notice you. Hi.” He squinted and then looked back and Alaric.

“M’ai interupin’ something?” He blinked and moved his thumb to rotate the rings on his left hand, a nervous habit he picked up after Izya died. Remi tasted the air for the last bits of the conversation and turned to Alaric again. “Forward? Aren’t you a Royal? Isn’t your room more... upstairs? Why’er you goin’ forward?”

Alaric was starting to very slowly come to realize that just maybe, T'liika was flirting with him. He still wasn't sure, still a bit stunned at the touching. He had to be reading into things. People didn't flirt with him. He was a freak of nature, a weirdo, disgusting.

He was saved from trying to come up with some sort of response, having no idea how one responded to flirting. It was hard to miss the way Alaric brightened at the arrival of Remi, though he quickly blushed, eyes on Remi's bare chest. He thought the scars were...highly distracting.

The tall alien then frowned, not liking that Remi was drunk. And wondering around. That was probably not good. And it was more then a little awkward to have the man he had been in love with for many years show up when someone was actually flirting with him.

"Remi...what are you doing? You shouldn't be wondering around like this. Where is your shirt?" Let's change the subject shall we! Alaric wasn't sure he wanted Remi to know T'liika had just been touching him. And....maybe had a dinner date. Accidentally.

"I wasn't heading to my room just yet..." and he left it at that, for now.

With the reaction from Alaric, it was obvious that his main competition would be this man. Fair enough. Though he frowned slightly at the way the man was acting, ,and the fact that he smelled like a brewery. "Are you drunk?" He took a step back to take a better look at Remi. Okay, he had to admit that he was fairly good looking.

"Perhaps we should get you back to your room before you manage to do something to emberass yourself." Or one of the other high ranking Pilots, who were a little more cranky then himself, came along and found Remi in this state. It would not be good at all.

A distinct snort from the pilot and Remi moved a hand to his ear to poke at the mutilated tip. The pilot didn’t really notice all the going ons, like Alarics blush or how he stared. Then the familiar voice rang out and Remi drew his pastel eyes to his first and last candidate, offering a small smile and running a hand up his chest.

Oh. He was missing his shirt. Where did it go? “The couch ate it, I came out here to look for it.” The words fell out of his mouth before he could stop them and Remi lifted his head and stared at Alarics chest, because that’s were his vision fell. “No. Wait. It’s in the couch. I.. Don’t think couches eat things, let alone my shirt.” The mixed blood in his veins was obviously slowly killing his alcoholic buzz and Remi was slowly realising where he was.

Awkward.

Okay, time to pretend. Remi licked his lips and rubbed at the scar on his chest, it ached, it always ached. “Drunk. I can’t get drunk. Not on alcohol. Happiness and sugar.” Dead pan, Remi spoke and his voice was monotone as he looked between them, it was obvious he was lying the way his cheeks were flushed and how his hand kept rubbing at the scar on his chest.

Not one for being a fool, the sunflower haired Pilot looked between T’liika and Alaric and he shuffled over to Alaric and flung an arm up over his ex-candidates shoulders. “ I know what’s going on.” Remi squeezed the back of Alarics neck and pat his shoulder before sauntering over to T’liika.  “If you hurt Alaric I’m going to hunt you down and bash your face in with something blunt and painful. Other than that, plow ‘im like a ragdoll. As his unofficial guardian,” Unofficial as in that no one knew it, Remi didn’t even know it until it fell out of his mouth.  He was trying to make himself important to Alaric while he knew that it was just pity the alien felt for him.

“As his unofficial guardian,” Remi slurred repeating himself, moving to throw an arm over T’liikas shoulders, “ I give you permission to have casual adult sex with one another.” He gave a nod and moved a hand to pat on T’liikas chest before turning back to Alaric and smiling.

This would be good for Alaric. Right? Remi turned away from them and stretched his arms, his face an obvious frown before he turned back around to flash a large fake smile. “‘kaaaay.” He drawled and ran his hand over his chest again, over the scar that still ached. “ ‘m gonna go look for my shirt. S’cold.. Sweet dreams Alaric. Good evening, T’liika.” Remi just stood there though, smiling dully. He was hoping he was doind some sort of good deed, in all honestly, Remi was very dense in the ways of a relationship, even more so when someone felt more than loathing for him.

Oh my. Remi was drunk. He wasn't always the most pleasant of drunks, as drinking tended to only intensify your emotions, and Remi was a lovely cocktail of depression, anger and bitterness, all lightly covered with sarcasm.

Sighing, Alaric began going through ideas in his head, trying to think of a good way to get Remi to head back to his room on his own. Well, really, Alaric figured he would escort the Pilot back to his place and take care of him. Which the strange looking Pilot really didn't mind.

Though all that rubbing of his chest that Remi was doing was rather distracting. It meant Alaric's blush wasn't fading and he kept finding he train of thought interrupted. Though Remi's sarcastic comment to T'liika had Alaric frowning, "Remi. Don't." He might be off duty and allowed to be wasted, but T'liika was still his superior officer and it was best to not insult them.

As Remi kept going, the blush did fade from Alaric, his face going pale and he looked stricken, his expression looked like he was about to cry for a few moments. Remi wanted him to sleep with someone else. Remi. Didn't. Want. Him.

For a moment, Alaric couldn't breath. He couldn't think. The world felt like it was tilting wildly. Alaric had been in love with Remi sense he was a candidate. He had fallen hard for the sunflower haired mentor and his wife. And Izya was dead and Remi wanted him to go bang some random Pilot. It hurt.

Then Alaric got angry. It mingled in with the pain and Alaric's expression hardened. Remi could go fuck himself. Alaric's upper lip pulled back in a slight snarl, revealing those teeth of his again, "I don't need your permission to sleep with someone Remi." The anger was keeping the utter embarrassment this conversation would bring until later, "It is my decision if I want to get 'plowed like a ragdoll.'"

Glaring at Remi, posture stiff and angry, Alaric knew he should calm down. That he was going to say something he would regret later, "And just so you know, before you came and announced that it was alright by you for me to sleep around, T'liika and I made a date. I'm making him dinner!"

And in a move powered purely with spite and hurt pride, Alaric grabbed the Royal and smashed his lips against his.

((SK! If that's too much of a powerplay, let me know and I can fix it!))

T'liika mentally cringed at Remi's words and actions. The poor pitiful fool, it was so obvious with the way Alaric was salivating over him, that the younger Pilot was highly attracted to the drunken baffoon.

He remained silent as he watched Remi utterly destroy the poor alien's hopes. Aside from the fact that this wasn't what Alaric wanted to hear from Remi, it only made it worse how it all came out. If Alaric decided to punch the other Pilot, T'liika was not going to stop him, unless it went further then a single hit. Then he'd have to step in and send Remi to his room, and escort Alaric back to his.

Thankfully it didn't come to that. Though his heart went out to Alaric, he looked absolutely crushed and devistated, then came the anger. So maybe he'd stay back just a little longer and allow Alaric to do his thing. He had to admit that a part of him was impressed with the feriociousness the taller Pilot exhibited, even though T'liika knew he was still so crushed inside.

Okay. Now he'd step in, figuring that Alaric was done. It would be wise to send Remi back to his room. He managed to open his mouth a little to start speaking when he found an Alaric attached to his lips. Oh my. This was not what he had expected. Alaric's feelings must have run pretty deep in order for him to want to strike out at Remi like this.

It took a second before he started to kiss Alaric back. However he quickly took control of it, allowing it to slow into something soft and mostly innocent. Something that Alaric wouldn't regret this too much later on once he came back to his senses. His hands came up so that his fingertips could stroke lightly over the younger Pilot's cheeks, almost in a calming manner.

Taken aback at how... Angry the younger pilot was, Remi simply stared and felt a little bad through his haze of alcohol and bad memories. His ears were tingling and Remi lowered his head for a moment, and hearing the words Alaric said made the bright haired pilot cringe slightly. Instinct, Remi didn’t want to lose his only friend, he was trying to do something nice for him, Remi thought the expressed permission from a former mentor would be a nice thing to have.

Not something to get pissed about.

Sure as hell not something to get pissed about and kiss an almost stranger.

And not something that made the almost stranger kiss his once candidate back.

Remi felt his eyebrow twitch and rage rose up in his chest when the kiss was more than a peck, when fingers went to brush gently over his cheek. He wasn’t thinking when he grabbed the elder Pilots shoulder and pushed Alaric backwards, pushing T’liika against a wall and letting a fist fall to the wall beside him, bursting the skin on his knuckles and leaving a red smear on the wall. Remi kept his fist there for a moment while he leaned in. “Don’t do it unless you mean it.”

The words made total sense to Remi, of course they would, his hand hurt like a bitch and his brain felt like it was made of cotton balls. His hand fell away, blood dropping on the wall and T’liikas shoulder and he gave Alaric a bit of a dirty look, scoffed, pulled his hair-tie out of his hair and walked off with the smooth grace he always had.

Tonight had started bad, ended worse, and the next day, Remi will wonder what he did to hurt his hand and why Alaric would be ignoring him.
