Title: Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out [m]
Post by: Draconian on October 01, 2015, 10:56:41 pm
Being on the planet was never an enjoyable thing for her.

Mae reclined on a couch in Tetra's home and patiently waited for him to return. There was important news to discuss and with all the annoying psychic's around it wouldn't do well to warn him about it. Instead, she decided to simply show up at his house. Read through a few of his old-timey books. Maybe they were journals?

Either way, they were really boring.

The curtains were closed to ward off any sunlight and the petite young looking thing eventually got bored enough of reading a journal-book that she simply helped herself to his bedside data pad and reclined on his bed. Maybe she'd find some story to read on the net.

Some Pilot Fiction.

Ah, always grand times.

A quick glance at the clock told her she'd been here for two hours, doing nothing but laying on his furniture and reading. Oh well, only a few minutes to go, then she could give him the information she had and carry on.

Except for a problem. Mae sat up, crossed her legs and rested her head on her hand. She couldn't remember what it was. Drat.

Oh well.

The scene that Tetra would come home to would be interesting, to say the least. Though the unexpected guest on his bed would probably be the most alarming.

Gods had the day been long.  First the shuttle back from TRIM was late, oh how he hated delays.  Tetra found it useless to grumble to himself, and went back to the notes he'd taken on the last few sessions he'd had.

Romac Wilson was a creep.  A harmless creep, that liked to play with his sister's dolls and turn them into marionette's to torment her and liked to wear the fewest amount of clothes possible.  He had managed to somehow not require restraints during their session, where he spoke highly of his kitty-cat Pancakes.

Tetra couldn't help having sympathy for the cat.

The long ride home would be rewarded with a fine cup of hot tea, no doubt, and perhaps a long nap.  Yes, that sounded just about what the doctor ordered.  Dr. Phaedras sniffed, smirking at his own joke.

When he'd finally arrived at his apartment door, he was surprised to hear that a visitor had been let in.  What a stupid doorman!  Did they have any discretion!?  Tetra didn't have any friends or professional relations that ever visited him at home.  He'd always made it clear that any messages were be given at his office, or emailed to him personally.

He frowned deeply, opening the door and finding his place in ... a state.  He didn't like it.  It wasn't supposed to be in a state!  It was supposed to be just how he let it.  He hung up his jacket and set down his case, strolling over toward the pile of books that had clearly been tampered with and back toward the bed room...

"MAE!  MAE!  What are you doing!?" he said, scowling and holding his hands tightly behind his back.

Mae gave a brief look up towards Tetra.

A little flutter of her heart - a phantom movement she knew because her heart didn't beat, undead that she was - and she gave her a bright smile, fangs on display and if she had blood in her system she knew her cheeks would be flushed.

"Oh, I'm trying to remember why I was here." Puffing out her cheeks she removed herself from his bend, fluffing out her skirts and fixing her hair of any bed head from his pillow. "It's top secret you see," She held out her hands to display that she wasn't holding anything, "Unfortunately I've forgotten what it was."

Tapping at her lips she looked him up and down, "You seem tired, would you like me to make you some tea?"

Oh, how unfortunate, and doubly convenient that she forgot what it was she was supposed to tell him.  The matter made him no less irate.  There was a certain protocol to be had of course!  Didn't she understand this?

No.  The answer was readily made apparent.

"So why did you have to come here?  You could have messaged my directly back at TRIM," he said.  "How did you even get in here?  Did you hypnotize the door man?"  It was a ridiculous question of course, and Tetra already hated himself for asking it.

And the fact that she anticipated tea.

His frown deepened.  "No!  I mean.  Well, yes.  But I don't need you to make it.  I can make it myself.  Just quickly remember and leave!  I've requested any messages regarding work to be relayed to me at work.  What is so hard to understand about that?"

He walked away towards the kitchens toward the electric kettle and fixed himself a cup quickly, slamming a mug down.  He sighed inwardly.  "Did you want some?"  Damn him.

Hm.

This wasn't turning out how she wanted it at all.

Though, him getting so irritated was something she anticipated, she was hoping for a little bit of a warming reception. As it was, it seemed that wasn't going to happen. "You work here. With Pilots. And the dragons read everything. It's top secret." So top secret she'd have to remember it.  So top secret she came to Haviah herself to deliver it.

That was a lot of sunshine to avoid.

"I'm supposed to tell you what it is, get you to do it and then make you forget about it," Mae nodded at Tetra, moving close to him in the kitchen, practically hovering behind him. Gazing up at his neck and giving her lips a lick she blinked widely at him and his offer of tea.

No. She wouldn't. Not really.

"Yes, please," Was what came out of her mouth. Of course she'd regret it later - she always did - but it was a good excuse to let her stay here longer and finally she tapped at her lips. "I did, you know. Hypnotize the door man. Well, made him recognize me as your wife," A few nods, "It was easy, really. The brain is so simple once you know all the mechanics."

Seating herself at his table, she propped her elbows up on it and fluttered her eyes. "It's nice to see you again, did you know there's been an escapee? Dreadful news. I hope he's rotting in space right now."

[8D Calixte!  Or maybe someone else!]

Tetra smelled the brew of his own tea, and immediately he calmed down.  He stirred it and put in one lump of sugar, no creme and did not sip it until hers was served at the table.

He joined her, just a bit and ran a hand through the unruly ends of his hair, those that didn't wish to be tied back.  "I see," came his reply, although the subject did pique his interest.

"An escapee you say?  From TRIM?  And how do you know this?"  He was just a psychiatrist after all.  He hoped to spaceface that it wasn't Romac Wilson.  That guy was a creep.

[Calixte! =D!]

Mae took her tea plain and she brought it to her lips, let it wash about in her mouth before she slyly didn't drink it and instead left it in her cup. That way she could taste the tea and not have the awful stomach cramps later when her insides protested putting anything in there.

"This is a special delivery news, Tetra," Mae sighed, propping her head on her hand again and looking at him, "Don't you know what I do? I hate when subjects... Get away. He had such an interesting brain, you see." Her fingers tapped at the table and she took another sip-not-sip from her cup of tea.

Sometimes she wished she was a human.

Then she thought about how awful that was and was saddened for them. The aging thing seemed pretty awful.

Shifting in her chair and looking excited she reached forward to mime grabbing his hands, though she was sure he wouldn't give them to her. The poor man seemed like he wanted to warm up and she was as cold as ice. "I'm psychic, Teddy. I know everything." A tweak of her eyebrow and she looked towards his bedroom and began to wag her eyebrows.

Instead he drank his tea slowly, enjoying it and savoring the taste.  Tetra took the news with a grain of salt.  Not that he didn't think Mae was telling the truth, however, in the method of her telling, her lack of tact left much to be desired.  That and the news of an escape of any TRIM subject did not bode well with him.  There were so many people that came through his office, it was hard to keep track of them all.

Not that there was anything wrong with his mind.

Tetra was quiet in her extrapolations, for she did seem to love to talk.  And he was more than content to let her lead the conversation.  Or what little of it, it entailed.  "How did they escape?  Did they say?" he asked, instead, ignoring her previous gesture and waggly brows.  "Who was it?  This...this isn't good."

His frown deepened and he set his cup on the table.  Glancing at hers, he inwardly sighed.  Why did he even other being a good host if other people weren't even going to lavish in his hospitality, such as it were?"

Mae pretended to drink her tea again but she frowned at Tetra instead. "I'd drink it for real but it gives me terrible stomach cramps," a pout and she tilted her head, "I thought you knew that." The fact she was a vampire was hardly a secret. It was right there in her employer profile. Still, he'd probably never looked at it and she looked off to the side again.

"C-something. K-something? Cal-something." Mae shrugged, "he got out because someone was stupid. Or he was more brilliant than he let on. Though I'm sure someone was just stupid." Mae looked thoughtful for a moment before she took a deep breath and blew out the chilled air as a sigh.

"I really don't remember what that news was. Oh well! I'll just stay with you until I remember what it is," she smiled at him widely, fluttering her eyelids again. Whoever said vampires were seductive had lied, Mae decided. This was harder than it looked. Maybe if she wasn't wearing the pink frilly dress.

He'd read her profile, even the one she'd made up for herself in her head.  Her template wasn't overly complicated, thankfully.  But there was only so much he explored before he felt it best to leave things alone.  Psychics tended to be a pain to read, especially undead ones.

Still this topic of a TRIM escapee was at least a little concerning.  Although he did not make it seem as if it bothered him.  Tetra sipped his tea  thoughtfully staring at her intently.

"Why don't you simply come by again when you remember it?" he asked, taking the cup she wasn't drinking and washing it in the sink.

"Hey," Mae whined reading for the tea he was taking away, "I was pretending to drink that!" Another pout, folding her arms over her chest and she frowned at him.

"It's daytime outside," She nodded to the closed window, "Maybe I'll leave when it's night." Maybe.

Standing up and folding her arms behind her back she cast Tetra a look, "He didn't escape here, by the way but... TRIM. Y'know. The one up there," She pointed up, giving her finger a wiggle. "That's why this visit is so important."

Then she sat back down and pondered, "Just gotta remember what that news was. New policy? Terms of agreement?" Leaning back she tapped at her lips and stared ahead while she cycled through the possibilities.

"Well, tell me when you remember.  If there is nothing else you can see yourself out, the same way you saw yourself in," he said with a brief smile, stood and cleaned his own cup of tea.  Tetra returned to his room, and dressed out in loose pants, and nothing else, holding out a mat and walking out onto the sundrenched balcony.

He set out the mat and started his yoga routine.  Yes he needed to relax, after a day he had.  Mae really wasn't making it any better.

So rude.

Mae sat in the shadiest part of his apartment she could fine, crossed her arms over her chest and waited.

"Okay, fine. I lied. I remember. It was the escapee. I already told you." A distinct pout, "I just wanted to visit longer." A quick intact of breath to imitating the sound of someone about to cry and she curled up, ducking her chin to her knees after she sat down. "I thought we were friends, Tetra."

Not really. They'd met a few times and were on a first name basis, but Mae was an odd girl and that was more than enough interaction to be friends.

He heard her from outside, as he kept the glad does open to allow the common room to air out.  Tetra turned to face her on the mat, smiling a little.  "Then you've made good on your delivery. Thank you very much."  He took a deep breath and extended his torso upward, expanding his front.

"I don't have any friends, Miss Mae," he said, breathing out.

Ouch.

"Well, maybe if you weren't such a curmudgeon you would have more friends." Mae snapped back from her hiding place. What she really wanted to do was watch the show but the light - natural that it was - deemed it unfit for her to be in.

"Upside, I don't care if you think we're not friends. I think we're friends and that's what matters, really." Shifting slightly to look at him from her hiding spot, she blinked a few times before resuming being curled up in a little ball. "We're supposed to get along."

"Supposed to?  Many things are 'supposed' to be things as well," he said with a breath as he moved low and stretched out his legs.  He gave a gently stretch before dropping low into a split formation, and a well-done one at that.

"Friends are 'supposed' to be mutual are they not?  How can we be friends if it is merely one-sided.  Even I know that, curmudgeon though I am."  He smirked at her, and flexed his back.

"This seems to bother you a great deal, Miss Mae."

Mae glared at him.

Well, she glared in his general direction.

"Of course it bothers me. I take having friends very seriously and it bothers me a great deal that you don't want to be my friend." Her voice took a tone and she huffed loudly, "What is it then? Why can't we be friends? Is it because of distance? I'm on the station and you're stuck here on this dreary rock? Are you jealous?"

Tetra just about finished from outside and walked back in, a towel draped over his shoulder.  He wiped his face and fixed himself a glass of water.  "Why does it bother you so much Mae?  There are plenty of people at the station, all TRIM'd so to speak, why not be friends with all of them?"

He smirked at her.  "Did you have so few friends as a child?"

Mae pouted at him, glaring over at his open window and the light still shining through. Surely he noticed that and wasn't just being a terrible rude host. Surely.

"I don't remember that. I was a child literally forever ago." Glaring at him from behind a cushions she'd stolen from his couch she held it carefully to cover her face so she could avoid the light.

"And you? Do you just... Hate everyone? I bet you love robots. I bet your girlfriend is a robot."

"I thought you knew everything Mae," he tsked with his tongue and moved over to the window, closing the shades, closing the balcony doors.  He took the water over to the table in the living room and sat down, frowning at her.  "I'll need those cushions back."

He sighed and shrugged.  "You're welcome to have a seat, since it's too daylight-y for you to leave," he said.   "So you resent your forgetfulness.  Do you feel the need to cling to others to hold on to some sense of stability in your life, Miss Mae?" he asked, in that gentle tone he used with new arrivals that were first on the couch in his office.

Mae put the cushions back.

Not that she wanted to.

She wanted him to suffer without his cushions.

"Miss mae. I'm not your grandmother," She hissed, taking a seat and crossing her arms over her chest while she reclined almost the whole way, not tall enough for her to sit at the back of the couch and have her feet touch the ground.

"Don't you go all shrink-y on me. You're nice looking and once you're as old as I am that is all that matters about people. How good of eye candy they are because nothing surprises you anymore and people always look different." A huff and she frowned at him, going so far as to stick her tongue out at him.

"I bet she's a robot vacuum."

"And yet you're awfully surprised that we are not friends," he said, leaning forward and smirking, leaning a hand on his elbow.  "Nothing surprises me about you, Mae.  You're small and temperamental, and could kill me.  And yet, am I unafraid?  Why it seems I am?"

He chuckled and shook his head.  "I have to take a shower, try to keep your eyes in your skull.  And your drool off my floor.  Please."

A sneer to him.

Mae decided that she didn't want to be Tetra's friend. She couldn't force it upon him and he didn't want it. Why bother?

Maybe she should just go stare at him in the shower.

Nah. That'd be creepy.

"I do not drool," was all she called after him. Then for his shower, she pouted on his couch, arms folded over her chest and glaring at the curtains.

Terrible visit.

It wasn't that he didn't want to be friends it was that he had no use for trivialities in his life.  Tetra cleaned up quickly and emerged in nothing at all. This was his own home after all.  He felt no need to change his routine simply because of a lone visitor.

Perhaps the least he could do was be hospitable.  Tetra fixed himself a drink and sipped it slowly.  "I know you don't drink anything, but would you like a sip of bourbon?"

Mae gave Tetra her full attention when he emerged in nothing at all. Eyebrows up and mouth drawn into a thin little line. This man was clearly evil. Evil and his yoga did him wonders. Mae politely cleared her throat and kept her gaze above the shoulders, she wasn't a heathen after all and while she could appreciate the view it didn't feel right since she wasn't paying for it.

"I'd enjoy a sip of you," Mae said without thinking, resting her head on her hand before she blinked, "Uh, yes please. Bourbon. A sip of bourbon." Licking her lips she stood up, tucked her hands behind her back and meandered he way over to him, "I hope you know alcohol affects my blood as surely as it does yours, though I have much less of it at the moment."

He knew she was looking.  He smirked while he had has back to hers, hands deftly sifting out another stout glass with ice in it.  The cabinet kept the bourbon chilled already and he liked it that way.  He heard her approach and offered the glass to her, clinking them together.

"To  uh.. picking brains.  Both literally and figuratively," he said and did not take a sip right away.  Instead he sniffed it, swirled it in the glass before finally sampling some on his tongue.  He rolled it at first before swallowing.  It was exquisite.

"The distiller's technique on tasting a proper bourbon.  Smell,, sample, roll it on your tongue."

Mae had never been a drinker.

Well, she was a drinker. A heavy drinker to get technical but she didn't usually partake in alcohol. It shot right to her brain. Made her weak. Made her dizzy and silly but what was the problem? At least if he decided to open the curtains she'd burn to a crisp and think it's hilarious.

"Literally and figuratively." Mae nodded, following suit when he took his sip. It didn't taste like much of anything to her, but she savored what she could of it, enjoying the tingle on her tongue before she swallowed and gave a pleased hum.

It warmed her.

"I've always enjoyed how warmly it goes down," Mae said, smiling up at Tetra, taking another sip, letting it soak in before she looked down at the glass, swirling it before eyeing him. It was only a little disappointing compared to a fresh meal, but she'd been fed and kept happy. While she couldn't remember the last time she'd had something that wasn't from a bag she wasn't about to get fired for sexual harassment.

Tetra seemed to type to complain about her teeth in his neck.

"So," Mae said, eyeing him up and down for a moment, blue gaze flicking over his form, "Do you always ... Be naked?"
Title: Re: Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out [Lion!]
Post by: Lion on October 04, 2015, 01:16:55 am
[Or on another part of his body.]

Tetra found himself warming to her company.  But it was likely just due to the alcohol.  And maybe because he was a little forced to keep her around for the time being.  It wasn't like he could just shove her out over his balcony.  Although he could, and a smirked touched his lips at the thought.

The amusement was short-lived.

He raised a brow at her at her description.  "Tingly.  Warm.  Palpable."

He took another sip, and looked down at his state.  "Sometimes," he said, smirking a little.  He knew she was staring.  It was a bit obvious.

"You could be naked too if you liked," he said with a nonchalant shrug.

[ehehehe.]

When he looked down at his state, Mae did too.

Why not? If he didn't want her to at least take a peek he'd turn away. At the very least he'd present his back to her. No, he was standing there just ... With it all on display and Mae - while she didn't have a pulse and the only blood that flowed through her wasn't even really hers anymore - was one a warm blooded creature and could appreciate the view.

"I could be," Mae nodded in agreement, "In fact, everyone is naked under their clothes." A cheeky grin, a flash of fangs and she moved closer.

"You're just missing the clothes to be naked under," Was it bad she wanted to touch him? The farthest thing from Mae's mind was anything sexual - being undead as she was it was usually too much effort to even bother attempting anything - but he looked so... Alive.

Looked so warm.

The blood under his skin made her skin tingle and Mae took another sip of the bourbon. If there had been more than the bare minimum of blood in her system she knew her cheeks would be flushed. As it was, she'd had her allotted amount for the day and instead simply looked like the porcelain doll she always looked like.

"What's the point of me being naked, hmm? Do you not like my dress?" She plucked at the bottom of her dress before she smiled up at him, still smiling brightly, "I think your girlfriend would look nice in my dress."

Then again, who wouldn't look nice in a poofy pink dress?

Tetra winked at her, teasing of course.  He knew she wouldn't bite.  It wouldn't allow her the upper hand.  He shrugged instead, moving over to the couch and fixing the cushions that she had so kindly disheveled.  Oh wasn't she a lovely houseguest.

He sighed and took up his glass again, downing the rest of it.  "Not really," he said bluntly.  "Pink isn't really a color for the season.  But it's no matter.  I'm sure you have discriminating tastes."  Another wink before he moved back to his room and emeged a few seconds later with black loose fitting pants on, and he plopped on the sofa, lying across all the cushions.

Was that disappointment?

Mae frowned for a moment at his pants.

Yes. Yes it was.

As he had downed his drink, so had she and now she felt warm and happy and alive and the phantom feeling of a heart beating in her chest made her have a little dad away smile. Mae went and sat on the floor beside the couch Tetra had sprawled himself over, laying her head on it and looking up at him.

"I'm sorry you don't want me here and I'm sorry I got here during the day," as old as she was Mae had never quite grown out of being a young adult. "I wanted to get to know you better since you seemed alone." The lingering words like me didn't leave her mouth but she nuzzled her face into the couch anyway, still looking up.

"Do you hate me, Tetra?"

He smirked.  How cute.

"No you're not, but it's all forgivable," he said with a sigh.  "You cannot help your nature. Most people can't.  And that's why they end up at TRIM."

He smirked a bit and rapt knuckles on her small head.

"I don't hate you Mae.  I simply don't see the need to be anything more than colleagues."  He shrugged and looked over to where the sun peaked through the blinds a little.  "Though something strikes me as curious, how did you get here on your own in broad daylight?"

Mae pursed her lips and tried to look innocent.

It was easy enough, she was adorable.

"But you're human," Mae whined, shuffling closer, head pressing against the cushions.

"You're supposed to be all pack animal-ie and want to be close to people." A puff of her cheeks and she looked towards the little patch of sun on the floor, quickly enough she winced, squeezing her eyes shut.

"It was cloudy earlier," Or something, "I didn't think the sun would come out. Now it's out and I can't leave." Sort of. As long as he didn't realize she could just use an umbrella or a really big coat it would be fine.

"Why can't we be more than colleagues? I like how your brain works."

"Do you mean you want to poke my brain, literally?" he asked, curious and plucking her chin up with the crook of his index finger.

Tetra leaned in, eyes curiously inspecting the feigned innocence of her features.  She was pretty in an aesthetic way, purely.

"You can stay then, I suppose.  Just for now."

Mae let her head be tilted up, looking up at him with her big blue eyes. Still pouting oh so slightly.

"Not literally, I like... How it works." Her voice grew soft and she reached out a hand to ghost her fingers over his cheeks, not daring to touch him from how cold her hands were. "You... You're all" she wiggled her fingers to her face "up here. It's neat."

Resting her head on her arms, tucked against the couch, Mae could only pout at him before looking at his pants. "Did I make you uncomfortable?"

Tetra laughed, following her gaze to his trousers, the loose lounge pants he'd put in to cover himself.  "No," he said and pinched ber chin lightly.  "I wonder if I made you nervous when I invited you to get undressed."

Mae let out a little laugh, moving her head slightly.

"I don't think anything makes me uncomfortable." Pursing her lips she closed her eyes for a moment "well.. Sunshine does." Shifting slightly she plucked at her dress then frowned at him, more than a little confused, "I just like my clothing. What's the point of being naked?" A light hand wave, "I'm too cold to cuddle."

"We will never cuddle, but the point would be only to show you have nothing to be ashamed of," he said, smirking and reaching down to pluck a hair from her scalp.  She was strong in her own right, her vampirism, certainly.  But he didn't mind a little rough handling on his part.

He examined her hair and smirked.  As he expected.  "We can't all be comfortable in the skin we're in."

"Well, I've made my peace with my skin," she pinched her cheek and frowned when he plucked a hair from her was. A jolt of rage sizzled in her gut and she licked her lips before a dangerous look wa given . "I have a limited number of those. I suggest you store it for safe keeping because if you ever want another it willcost you."

A long look at throat, his chest... Just about anywhere with blood before she made prolonged eye contact.

Tetra took the hair and extended it before moving toward a drawer and plopping it in there.  For posterity of course.  "Its looking a little dark, I ought to open these shades."

Tetra fiddled with the blinds, standing in a beam of sunlight.  "So what do you plan to do to pass the time, Miss Mae?  You must be awfully bored."

Mae pursed her lips, watching him move. Shuffling away from what little light the window let in.

"I was going to watch you," she said cheerfully, "maybe eventually convince you to let me have a snack."

"No.  And I would be most please if you kept your teeth to yourself," Tetra said with a shy, pulling a chair from the dining table to sit further in the light.  "What's the matter?  You always seemed so much fun.  Frankly I'm a little disappointed."

He clicked his tongue and gestured to the cabinet.  "Did you find a board game you liked?  I wouldn't be opposed to indulging and childish tendency."

Mae just stared at him.

"I could make it feel good," she said in a low voice, tilting her head and eyeing his neck, "I could make it feel really good." Mae smiled at him and gave her teeth a lick before her eyes were flicked to the cabinet.

Say what?

"Board games? I like Chess, but it wasn't in there. Also, you're very young so you'd lose in a few turns." Mae folded her arms over her chest and frowned at him, eyeing him in that beam of light that would burn her. Send her screaming in pain. "C'mooon, just a nibble?" She pouted, moved her arms forward to press her breasts together in a -hopefully- enticing way, "I'll let you bite me back."

He smirked at her.  "Why do you keep asking?  'Tis an effort in futility, my dear," he said with a cold turn of affection.  "Why don't you pick a game from the cabinet?  Chess is such an idle game.  I used to take enjoyment from it, then I threw my set over the balcony and let anyone else who found it, have at it."

He eyed her breasts and then her eyes.  "You try so hard, Mae.  I almost feel sorry for you.  You waste your beauty trying to suck the life out of me."

"I don't want all the life!" Mae started, moving her arms away.

"Just a nibble. A little sip. A mouthful?" She'd pegged him for being so easy.

What a waste!

Finally she leaned against the couch, pouting, arms folding over her chest and made a rolling motion with her hand, "Why don't you pick a game." Then she paused and gave him an odd look, "Why do you have board games if you live alone and hate people, anyway?"

"Because sometimes I have certain acquaintances come over and I entertain.  Doesn't mean I have to like them," he smirked and got up, just long enough to wander toward the shelf.  "I generally use them for my patients.  I bring one in, play a game, see how they react to different interactions, win, loss, draw, etc."

He sat back down in the sitting room, setting down the game called "Chance" on the table.  "I'm surprised.  You don't like games, Mae?"

"You don't like the people you invite over?" Mae asked surprised, giving him a curious look. What a strange man. "I highly doubt you could entertain anyone," She quipped quietly under her breath before she leaned to look at the game he'd chosen.

She hadn't seen that one before.

"I like games. I just like playing games with people, not boards." Fluffing her skirts and moving to sit on her knees to better her height at the sitting room table she looked to Tetra and smiled before fluttering her eyes at him. "I'm old and undead, remember? My interests are much different from yours."

Mae looked thoughtful - though she gave him a dirty look when he called her that name - and tapped her fingers to her lips.

"How brains work. You know, I've spent a long time alive and I still haven't quite figured that part out." Crossing her arms over her chest she gave him an up and down look, "Like you. You enjoy being alone? Or rather not alone but... " She made hand movements before shrugging, "I"m sure you have natural human urges that require someone else here but..." more awkward hand movements.

Mae frowned and then crossed her arms over her chest, "I don't know. What interests you?"

He wasn't going lie. He liked watching her squirm.  Tetra leaned forward and gently stroked her face and neck, feeling the curiously cool skin.  "You're dead right?  And yet you still function.  That interests me."  He smiled just a bit and brushed fingers across the marks where she was bitten.  "How does vampirism alter the mind?" he asked.  "Do you feelany different than when you were human?"

Mae shivered when he touched her neck and it took a lot of will power not to grab his hand and sink her teeth into his wrist. There was the slightest of sighs, her eyes drifting closed at the head of his hand. It was nice. Sometimes she missed the warmth of a living being. Hot waterbottles in stuffed animals just didn't compare.

"Of course I do," She said finally, opening her eyes and eyeing his neck before she stared at his lips, "I want to eat you." Mae smiled, "I won't. But I want to. There are so many things that are different." Mae chewed on her lip and smirked, "If you're very curious I could just show you."

"It's a shame we all can't get what we want now isn't it?" he said, pouting those lips she was staring at right in her face.

He smirked however though, brushing fingers across her cheek.  "I wanted to be a painter.  Or maybe a novelist.  Or maybe an exotic dancer at Synesthesia."  He chuckled at that last one.  "But instead of peeling back my clothes, I peel back people's memories.  I could try yours if you'd like.  On the house.  You wouldn't even have to schedule an appointment."

"I liked that analogy. That was ..." Mae tilted her head, eyeing Tetra up and down, tapping at her lower lip while she imagined him stripping. It wasn't a bad mental image. Then her eyes snapped to his and she stared at him.

"If you're curious you're free to look, you're also more than free to peel back your clothes." A smirk and she leaned in, gave her lips another lick. It would be so easy to just pin him down and feast. He was so fragile. Delicate. Like a beautiful glass swan. Handle it wrong and the neck would just... Snap right off.

[;B Snap right off, huh?]

Tetra smiled at her and he turned his head up to inspect her face.  In the vision of his left eye, she looked little more than a skeleton with the flesh peeled off it.  Some meat clung to her, her heart didn't beat, as she had said.  But something was tingling in her blood.  Maybe sex was useless, but it was exciting to watch its effects.  Even if she was all ready dead.

"You need to lie back then and relax.  Get comfortable.  Right out of your clothes if you want," he said and he got up, moving the chair a bit closer.  "The sofa will do.  For you, I mean."

[Snap right off. One got flick of the wrist!]

Mae made a movement to roll her eyes.

Again with the no clothes.

"I quite like my clothes, you'd probably do away with my dress," She plucked at the pink poofy garment before she got situated on the sofa, laying down and getting comfortable. Hands rested on her belly and closing her eyes. Her chest rose and fell with her unneeded breaths and she gave Tetra a curious side eyed look before she closed her eyes and waited.

"All right then, Tetra. I'm all ready."

"Good.  Now stop talking," he said and reclined in the chair.  He breathed slowly as he felt around her synapses.  Casting himself within the template of her mind shouldn't be too trying, but she was psychic after all, and those always proved to be more annoying.  Relaxing physically he eased himself within, and waking consciously within her mind, as if in a dream.

He felt her presence there, and saw a man before her, a tall very good looking man.  She...was no child, or acted as no child ought.  She was happier then, smiled more.  Something was wrong.  A woman was crying.

"Your mother died...," he found himself saying, voice echoing distantly to her own consciousness, speaking as if he were under water, and billowing out the maw of a cave.  "Your mother missed you very much.  You don't remember it though...because you were very far away....  She cried when you left, she cried and wished to know what happened to you before she died.  Too late."

Mae didn't enjoy having someone else inside her head.

He felt like little spider feet. Barely there but just enough to notice and just enough to be itchy. His words weren't shocking to her - of course her mother died - she was old. Her entire family, great-great-great-great nieces and nephews were probably long dead by now. Still, there was a hollow feeling in side and Mae felt wetness at her eyes.

It was always a bother to cry.

"Are you looking into my origin story? Because I'll tell you now, it's not a pretty one," Clearing her throat, though keeping her eyes closed and herself relaxed - mind open for Tetra to nose his way around. "May leave you with nightmares."

"I'm used to those, Miss Mae," he said, stepping through her template, and the maze it was, feeling along her brain.  It was a labyrinth of blood and silliness, most of which he didn't understand.  So much was the child in her, that to think her own master got bored of it and left.

"Are you lonely, Mae?" he asked.  "Is that why you want to be my friend?  So that we might be lonely together?"

Miss Mae.

At least it had a nice ring to it.

Was she lonely?

Mae frowned deeply, eyebrows crinkling down.

Lonely together?

"That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard, being together is inherently an UnLonelyMaker. You can't be lonely but together." Puffing out her cheeks she frowned at nothing and crossed her arms over her chest, even laying down as she was, "Also, no. No I'm not lonely. In fact, I've... I've ... I know lots of people."

They were patients and they hated her but... She still knew them.

Tetra chuckled, this time outwardly in real time.  As he receded from her mind, a gentle leaving as it were, Tetra had seen enough.  For now anyway.

"Is that what you call it?  An UnLonelyMaker?"  He chuckled.  "I see.  And you are so adamant that we be friends...  because you don't have any?  Neither do I.  I don't have a girlfriend.  I don't have anybody.  But people can make you feel lonely even being in the same room."

Mae cracked an eye open and looked over at him, pursing her lips, arms folded over her chest.

"You don't have parents?" She questioned softly, sitting up. Briefly she remembered how helpless she felt when it really sunk in that everyone she knew when she was alive was very dead. Quickly enough though, Mae turned her gaze down at the floor and frowned to Tetra.

"I realize you can feel lonely in the same room with someone, you do a very good job at trying to do it." She lifted a hand to wag her finger at him, shaking her head, "Won't work on me though. Good try."

Slowly she placed her hands on her hips and then moved her hand to indicate the 'them' of the situation.

"You keep saying I want all this, but it's you who keeps initiating the physical contact." Mae moved her hand to her neck and shrugged before she smiled at him and looked at his neck, "I'm sure you would twitch if I caressed your neck, it's a sensitive place. Though I suppose when you die and are reborn as an immortal creature it may be just a little more sensitive." Mae smiled and licked her lips, looking at Tetra's neck, "Would you like to see for yourself?"

"So we can debate eternally? No thanks," he said, laughing and sitting over by the sofa now, moving her legs so they were on his lap.  "If I say we're friends, do we have to actually be friends?  Would you satisfied with a mere statement?  So you mightfind contentment to take an umbrella and return to your own living quarters wherever that is."

Being pitied was something new to Mae.

A deep frown pulled at her features while he tried to placate her. Today she didn't feel like being a predator but apparently Tetra was going to be prey. His attempts at just pleasing her made her angry and Mae quickly removed her legs from Tetra's lap, going to the curtains to wretch them open.

It was cloudy again and Mae just frowned and glared at the window.

"Let me onto the balcony so I can leave, maybe I'll come see you again when you're dying," it was a little hiss, angrily spoken over her shoulder.

"Well, it was a fair offer.  You got in alone, I'm sure you can find your way out, darling little Miss Mae," he said, sighing and standing from there.  He didn't need to look over at her from his shoulder to know how she felt. She radiated anger and irritation.  Frankly, he found it amusing, but he wasn't going to appease her further.

So instead he took the used glasses and washed them, proceeding to make some dinner in the kitchen.  After such trying company, he could use a good meal.

"I don't want a pretend friend!" Mae snapped at him, glaring at him when he went about making food. First he wants her out of his house and then he doesn't help her leave!

"You're just as broken as the people you try to fix! Trying to psycho analyze me!" Mae laughed, "Me!" Mae stomped her foot and crossed her arms over her chest, "now open the door to your patio so I can leave! I don't want to be around someone fake like you!"
Title: Re: Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out [Lion!]
Post by: Lion on October 10, 2015, 12:24:43 pm
Tetra turned to her coldly.  "I never made any claims to being fixed," he said evenly.  "What makes you more real than I?Did you stop to think about why you came here? Yet you won't admit that you're lonely. You think your immortality makes you better.  Do you not think instead that it cripples you.  You have more time certainly. But that means more time to be bored, more time to reflect. More time to be alone.  I acknowledge my unpleasantness.  Few people can stand me either way, so I am content to return the favor.  I can't imagine myself possessing any quality that would draw you to me in a way that might be friendship."

He sighed and looked out to the ingredients on the counter.  He didn't have any blood on him, other than in him.  It qas a reluctant notion, but not entirely repulsive.  "Would you...like to stay for dinner?"
Title: Re: Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out [Lion!]

Mae frowned at him for a moment before she went back and pulled the curtains closed, certain that he'd be most displeased if he had to sweep her ashes up off his ground. The offer to stay for dinner caught her off guard and she was about to snap at him, complain about how she didn't eat people food.

Pretending was a thing though.

Gently she bit her lip, staring down at the ground.

"Yes," Mae wanted to add something polite, about not wanting to stay if he didn't want her here. She wanted to stay. Even the little bit of extremely reluctant company made her feel a little less hollow.

"I'll... I can read to you while you eat?"

The fact that she actually accepted was surprising to say the least.  Tetra had expected her to simply refuse and be on her merry little way.

At her proposal, he smiled, nodding.  "That is acceptable," he nodded again, and went back to preparing dinner.  Twenty minutes later and there was a tasty chicken piccata, and a salad with caesar dressing. He sat and ate quietly, looking over to her from time to time.

"What are you reading?"

Sometimes she wished she could still eat.

Then she remembered what happened after you are as decided she just missed the taste of food. Luckily it still smelled good and Mae seemed pleased to just be near it, eyes closed for a moment. Though her eyes popped open and she looked across from Tetra.

"It's about a giant whale. And a man who's trying to catch it!" Mae rested her head on her hands and watched him eat, quite forgetting to do the reading thing.

Tetra smirked, just a bit. And it was enough to show it.  He ate quietly.  "A man chasing a whale?  A man in pursuit of immortality.  Or his manhood.  The whale signifies a great being of strength.  A man's pride, his life, his body.  His testicles essentially."

And munched on quietly.  "Watching a man eat, could imply lust.  Figuratively speaking."

A tilt of her head.

"If you say so. I've always been bad with analogies and metaphors." A poetic vampire, Mae was not. Anything but. Still, she leaned her head on her hand and watched him eat curiously. "I suppose it could. I don't feel lust like you do. A lot more work goes into it." A smirk and she smiled.

"Tell me, Tetra. Tell me how watching someone eat could be lustful."

"Lustful in the sense that my mouth is chewing on this chicken, a tasty morsel for us mere mortals.  My tongue savors the herbs, the flavors, the smell fills my senses and each swallow inspires pronounced pleasure," he said, looking at her idly and drinking a bit.  He licked his lips and tilted his head as his utensils shredded the texture of the chicken.  "Most things erotic are primal in nature, reverting back to baser instincts.  Seeking to fulfill those needs most centric to existence.  Watching me eat might imply you wish to be devoured much in the same way.  Although, it is figurative.  Not a direct consumption of flesh, but of pleasures of the flesh.  In the heat, in exhilaration of the senses.  To feel your body pressed so close to mine, we are of one body.  It's all uh, what was that phrase, 'psycho-mumbo-jumbo'?"
Title: Re: Down Came the Rain and Washed the Spider Out [Lion!]

This was entertaining.

"If I were human I'm sure I'd be quite turned on by now," Still she watched him eat with a little smile on her face, "No blood flow," She wiggled her fingers downwards, "Nothing gets tingly down there anymore." A bright smile and she rested her head on her hands, curious as to what he was saying.

Sort of wishing she could experience the eroticism of him eating.

Sure it was interesting but... Eh... Mae did the devouring of people. Not so much the other way around.

"Do go on though, it's interesting. I like it. Makes me wish I had a fresh meal on hand to get the ol' head racing. Figuratively."

It was fun.  In a morbid way.  Tetra had no real interest in the matter himself, but talking about it piqued his interest.

"I like this too.  I don't normally talk about this with people who aren't patients and have trouble positively masturbating," he said with a shrug, even chuckling about it.  "Well, apart of it, and perhaps even central to it, is the mouth.  You eat, drink and communicate with it.  Yet, it is often aesthetically similar to the folds of the female sex organ.  Lips, the folds, and the sensors within that detect and anticipate, and receive and give pleasure.

"A man of any other nature wouldn't give it much more thought than penetration, satisfaction, ejaculation, then a slap on the ass and be on his way.  Without ever understand what it is, he'd just done.  I suppose in the end it doesn't matter.  All bodies - all living bodies - are ultimately the same."

He'd just about finished eating and gathered up his plate.  "So you don't have sex then?" he asked, curious.  "Ever?"

Well.

Tetra was strange.

At least not much had changed since she'd been human.

It was all about sex. Always. Mae smirked, remembering what got her into her little Undead Mess to begin with before she looked down at the table at his finished dinner.

"No. Too much effort. Well..." Mae looked thoughtful, "I suppose I could but without fresh blood in me it'd be like fucking a corpse and only a select few are into that." A smirk and a glance at his neck, "I'm not allowed fresh blood." Though, who said she wasn't?

Mae pursed her lips and glanced outside the window. Thinking of all those useless people down there. "Anyway. It's a job to do that and it generally requires someone who can stand me for fifteen minutes." Another little smile and she shifted in her seat, giving Tetra another curious look, "So if you think of sex so often while someone else is watching you eat, why don't you have a girlfriend?"

Fucking a corpse, oh, he knew a couple of those that wanted to do exactly that.  It wasn't a pleasant visualization.

But back to the task at.hand.

Tetra checked his watch, downing some wine.  "It's been about an hour or so," he said with a smirk, teasing even for him.

"And why are you so keen in trying to find the answer to that question?" he asked back casually.  "And I don't think of sex so often.  I don't think of it much at all.  I merely stated it was an interesting topic of conversation."

At the claim that it had been an hour, Mae simply leaned in and winked at him before giving her lips a lick. A whole hour and he hadn't pushed her into the sunlight. That was impressive. A grand character of a man to be sure.

"It is interesting. Me because I can't bother to have it and you because..." She tapped at her lips, eyed his lovely neck and then his lips and finally his eyes, "Well... Because you're a head doctor and sex is one of those primal human things. I'm not human anymore - sort of - so..." She shrugged, "I just have primal urges to feed. It's taking a great deal of self control to keep me and my mouth on this side of the table when you're over there all... Warm and Delicious."

Tetra couldn't say he wasn't intrigued by that look in her eyes.  But he rubbed at his neck and soon stood up from the table, taking his plate and utensils and washing them.  "Well, I suppose I should thank you for having the tact not to attack me," he said with a smile.

He stretched and walked back over to the table.   "After all, friends don't attack other friends and drink their blood do they," he said.  And he was pretty sure he could incinerate her if he wanted.

"mmm." Mae made a noise that could have been agreement.

Maybe.

Bright blue eyes stared at his neck while he wandered around, watching the blood, feeling it pump though she was so far away.

Or at least she had been. It took barely a second. From sitting at the table to kneeling on the table to press her lips against his neck, feeling the warmth press against her skin. As a precaution she'd caught his wrists in her hands and held them as gently as she could.

"But we're not really friends, are we?" She whispered into his ear.

"No, I suppose we're not," Tetra said with some disappointment that she would come this far to try and get a taste of him.  "Such a shame too."  He didn't fight her hold on his wrists, although he turned his head to face hers, left eye feeling warm in his face.  He was fully prepared to incinerate her if need be. It would just be sweeping ash after all.

A small smile flickered on his lips.   "Are you that desperate?  Did you not eat before you arrived?"

Poo.

Mae leaned back, pouting.

"Nothing? Not even a tremble?" Quickly enough she removed herself from him, arms folded over her chest and pouted. Sitting back on a chair, legs out, she just pouted at him, a disappointed huff.  Then she stared at his eye for a long moment, "Oh. You have that thing. If you didn't have that thing would you have trembled?" She reached forward, fingers pinched together a little bit, "Just a little bit trembled?"

Tetra leaned back, slipping his hands from her grip.  "What difference does it make if I did?" he asked in a delicate tone.

"Well, fine," he said and after some thought, he wiggled his whole body in trembles.  He smirked at her, his arms going all wiggly on her neck as if he were having a seizure.  "Dear  goodness gracious, Miss Mae!  I can't stop the tingling!  Oh, whatever should I go!?"

Mae gave an exaggerated eye roll and pushed Tetra away.

"That's not funny. It's not endearing either."

Miss Mae. At least that sounded cute.

"I don't know. Stop being a fool. Perhaps that would help with the tingling."

"Take a kiss and be silent," Tetra growled, smirking just enough to lean forward and kiss her.  Whether it brought tingles or not was irrelevant.  She couldn't feel it anyway, right?  It lingered long enough and left his lips warm.  He smiled when he pulled away.  "There, that's better."

When he said take a kiss Mae was waiting for some smart ass item.

Perhaps a thimble.

Mosty the actual kiss caught her odd guard and she felt her eyes close. Even leaned into it a little before Tetra pulled away and she stared at him with wide blue eyes. Indeed he got his wish and she was silent. Mae licked her lips, pressing her fingers to them, enjoying the warmth. Much like a cat her pupils dilated and she flushed. Or at least flushed as much as her blood deprived body could.

Gently her hand moved to his chin, giving his strange eye a long look. "You're so warm," was her only comment before she leaned in for another kiss.

Eyes flung wide when she kissed him back.  This time it was his turn to be silenced by surprise.  Tetra had not moved but by the force of her kiss.  And surprised himself yet again when a subtle moan escaped him.  He was flushed and panted lightly as if she'd stolen his breath away.  He stared at her for a long time, feeling disconnected with reality for a long moment.

"Why?" he breathed, hating that he couldn't find his words.  "Why did you do that?"

Flushed.

Mae watched the blood dance under his flesh, her tongue darted out to catch the lingering warmth on her lips from the kiss she forced upon him. "Why?" She repeated, looking over his features, "because I wanted to." Mae leaned back, looking like the cat that caught the canary. "You're beautiful," she said softly.

"Beauty is merely a manifestation of physical attributes found to be pleasing in the mind.  I'm no more beautiful than my abstract painting over that furnace there," he said softly.  "But I forgive you anyway for your laspe in judgment."  Although his eyes lingered where her tongue traced over her lips.

Mae shook her head gently.

"No... You're not beautiful looking. You just... Are." Her cold ice eyes traced his features, how delicate the flesh was. How fragile the bones were. "Everything that makes you human. The skin wrapped around your bones. The smell of your flesh. The sound of your blood." Mae closed her eyes for a moment, leaning in slightly before falling away again, her fingers moving from his chin to caress his cheek, following to the shell of his ear.

"Beautiful." And precious.

And Mae realized shortly after that she was hungry.

Though she remained quiet about it and simply closed her eyes and tipped her head forward, letting her hand drop away from his ear.

Her touch left tingles across his face and body, especially down his spine.  Ones he should do well to ignore.  He was not like other men, he had known this from birth.  He was not prone to their same behaviors, as moot as they were.  Still, he could not help the sensations that unnerved him.  It was intriguing to think he might feel this way.  He did not have urges, nor hungers to devour.

But she did.  And he saw that predatory look in her eyes, and it gave him chills.  "You aim to tear apart that delicate flesh?" he asked, curious, and not retracting as he was inclined to do so.  "To get at the hot pulsating blood underneath?  You would kill me?  Your only friend..."

"No..." Mae whispered, eyes still closed. She could feel his heart beating. Taste his blood in the air. "I'd never kill you." Slowly her eyes opened, pupils still blown wide. Her fingers traced over his cheek again, down his neck, over his pulse to trace his collar bone. "I'd never hurt you," she smirked slightly and licked her lips again, staring at his neck. Mae was practically salivating, what blood was in her system gave her lips a luscious red colour and she let her eyes flutter closed again.

Should have eaten.

Her hand moved away, her head tilted back.

"It wouldn't hurt," she whispered, looking at his neck again.

Her touches were titillating, but Tetra could sense danger behind them.  She was still a threat, no matter how enticing she made herself out to be.  Enticing for what he couldn't say.  He took a deep breath, inhaling sharply and straightening himself.  He gave her a smirk, almost teasing, but not quite at the mention of it not being painful.

"That's what I saw before I leap into another's mind.  The more resistance, the more pain.  Sometimes I'm as gentle as a spider and they don't even feel me at all."  His voice came out in a hiss.

He reached up and traced her cheek.  "But I'm afraid I can't let you sink your fangs into me."  He smiled.  "That would be fraternizing with a colleague.  Quite intimate don't you think?"

Tetra moved away from her, long enough to move to the kitchen, where he pulled a small incision blade from the drawer, and drew a small cut over his fingertips.  There the blood welled up, pushing out of his flesh in bright red droplets, as he let them dribble into a glass.  He let it fill for a small while before pushing out whatever would remain and firmly held his finger in hand.  The bleeding eventually stopped, and he used another small tool to seal the wound.  It would be tender, but it would heal with no scars.

And he took the glass, handing it over to her.  "Here," he offered.  "You really should remember to feed before you come visit."

No.

Mae watched Tetra leave. Feeling her heart break and she almost cried. It was so close. It was right there and now it was leaving! Gentle as a spider. "I can be gentle," she pleaded, the hungry look in her eyes. She could! "I can!" A plead and she reached out a hand, fingers catching on some fabric of his clothing before he moved away.

Not following, her mind slowly sinking into its self. Down into memories she didn't enjoy. Memories of loss and being alone.

Mae was staring ahead at nothing, stock-still. It was like she was a statue though her eyes snapped to the glass and she stared at it like she'd never seen a glass before. A pale delicate looking hand reached for it, staring at Tetra for a moment before she brought it to her lips and she drank it down.

Licking her lips she pressed her fingers to her lips before her eyes snapped to Tetra.

Should really remember to feed.

Mae's eyes fluttered for a moment before she just stared at his neck.

Stared long and hard.

"You're so warm."

"No," Tetra said, despite her begging.  "You'll have to be sated with that."  He looked her over before patting her shoulder and moving towards his bed.  "I'm going to turn in.  I've had a long day.  Feel free to make yourself comfortable on the sofa."

He moved through to the next room, slipping into his bed and reclining.  He pulled out a portfolio, looking over his notes.  The next few appointments were likely to be doozies.

He just...

Left her there.

Rude.

Mae chewed on her lower lip for a moment and watched after him, pouting once she was finished biting her lip. A look at the sofa and she puffed out her cheeks and took careful steps towards Tetra's bed room, as quietly as she could. Slightly fed. Her stomach felt warm and she reveled in it.

Still, she didn't want to leave and Mae walked to the side of his bed, standing by his head and looking down at him. "Can't I stay with you?" She whispered, "I promise not to tell."

Oh, she really wasn't going to go away was she?

Hrm, this was going against everything he believed. There was protocol to consider after all, and there was a reason he didn't fraternize with people from work outside of work. He was not friendly, he was not nice or congenial. He was a doctor that was there to do his job!  But yet here she was, and didn't seem like she planned on leaving.  Even after giving her a taste.

Which he realized now was his first mistake.

Tetra looked up at her from the folios and sighed. He wasn't going to get any work done tonight, now was he?  He folded the binder and set it down on his bedside table. "What's there to tell?  You're just a co-worker coming by for a visit and a chat, and something to drink.  And you can't leave because of current state of the sky. And it would certainly be strange if you never returned the work the next day. So I suppose as host, it wouldn't do for me to turn you out. So you're welcome to stay."

He had a feeling he was going to regret this.

"I can?"

Mae coo'd looking far too pleased with herself. Her hands smoothed her hair back and she moved to undo the buttons of her dress, slowly peeling that off to reveal the slip underneath. It wasn't as puffy or crinkly as the dress she wore and she peeled back Tetra's blankets and curled herself up in his bed.

And shuffled over until her butt was pressed against him, giving a pleased hum at the warmth. "If you move me, I will bite you," She threatened, grinning to show off her fangs and making opening and closing her mouth quickly to have her teeth make noises when they hit one another.

She wanted him to move her.

So that she could bite him.

She just did that. She just had that slip on underneath, like she had been ready to take off her clothes at a moment's notice. He was watching her, clearly not hiding it or his curiosity. Damn, there it was, an admission. Yes, she made him curious to say the least, curious for company, for a body beside his. Even if it was a little, erm, cool to the touch.

He just stayed where he was, until she pressed her ass against him. He was sitting up, and while he didn't appreciate the space she stole, he wasn't going to give her the satisfaction of giving her an excuse to bite him. He was a creature of his comforts, and having his body unbitten was one of them.

The pressure of a body against him though made him feel funny.  And he didn't like it. Not the curiosity of his mind, not the pressure that built in his loins.  He put his work away and laid back, settling into the blankets.

"You'd like that," he grumbled. "But I already gave you blood. You'll just have to be satisfied with that."

"I would like that," She purred, rolling over, tucking her head under her arms. Mae wouldn't sleep - she didn't require it - but she did enjoy just laying and resting. A longing look at his throat and she licked her lips.

"It was just a snack," She huffed out, pouting, moving to lean up on the bed, shifting ever so slightly so that the slip's strap fell off her shoulder. Mae leaned forward, looking down at him, "Are you sure? It wouldn't hurt," She looked at his head, "I could turn any pain into pleasure, really I could." An eager smile, a look at his throat and back again, she didn't show her face, but she tilted her head to expose more of her neck before she snuggled back down onto the bed, her whole body plastered against his side, curling both her arms around one of his.

"It would warm me up, too!" She murmured, wiggling to get comfortable.

Sure he could be cold to her, turn his back so that she could just huff and lie down. Tetra didn't feel remorse, not for people that brought their situations upon themselves. She was among them. Still, something niggled in the back of his mind, a stray curiosity, and really most of it was irritation. If his coldness wasn't going to disinterest her, maybe turning to her would dissuade further advances.

So Tetra turned to face her, ignoring the growing ache in his groin. He leaned up on his elbow, holding his head up.  He looked at that loosened strap, and closed his eyes, a slow long blink. And soon pinned her to the bed, pressing her deep into the pillows behind her.

He steadied arms on either side of her head and straddled her hips. "Wow really? So while you're tearing apart my flesh, my pain is your pleasure. Is that how it goes?"

Mae's mind went blank for a moment.

He'd caged her.

She was caged and he was going to... No. She wasn't prey anymore. She was strong, and she shifted her shoulders slightly so the slip moved down to expose more milky white flesh that was alarmingly cold to the touch. Not ice but, perhaps just... Chilled. Crystal blue eyes looked up at Tetra and she moved her hands to his thighs to rest there while he spoke.

"I don't eat you," She purred, turning her head and nuzzling at his arm, "I simply bite and then I lick at the wound," She turned her head back up to Tetra to pout up at him, "Your pain would be your pleasure, Tetra," Mae confirmed, blinking at him, "I just... Change how it feels. Make you enjoy being my... Snack." A flutter of eyelashes and another pout, "Pretty please?"

In his irritation, Tetra hadn't noticed that his body really was going to have a mind of it's own. It was touching her.  It. Was. Touching. Her. Hip. And his eyes shot wide and he looked down between them and saw the tent in his pants, he growled angrily. At himself really.

"Ahem, that's Dr. Phaedras to you," he said, wiggling his brows. He shook his head. "If you bite me, it'll show.  And then all the blood will drain from certain phallic appendages that don't want to listen to me."

A bright blue eyed look, her eyes almost glowing with need before she followed his gaze to his groin. There was a surprised chuckle and she moved her hands over his thighs, giving the tops of them little squeezes before she hooked her fingers in the waist of his pajama bottoms. Mae sat up and smirked up at Tetra, shifting slip so it fell lower, almost exposing her breasts.

Perhaps, if he was out of his mind enough he wouldn't notice a little bite?

Mae licked her lips and leaned in against his chest, "That's not how blood works," She teased, looking up at him, "And there are places I can bite that no one would see," Mae insisted, swiping her thumb over flesh under the waistband of his pants, "it'd feel good. Really. I promise on my grave."  Sort of. She didn't have a grave.

He was just hard up. That's really was the gist of it.

Tetra was not an oversexed man, although he knew much of the staff that was. So it was clear to him now that was the reason.

His pulse quickened, and he leaned back when she sat up, sitting up and not bothering to remove her hands from him. His own grasped her wrists. "My, my. How persistent you are," he breathed, annoyed and looking over his body.

A place that couldn't be seen? Reaching up to fix the straps on her shoulders, he paused in half motion, and instead pulled her slip down, exposing those breasts and setting his hands just at her waist and pulling it down even more.

Tetra leaned in and was just a breath away. "I dunno. I'm not really in the mood to be bitten. Having holes in my body."

How bold.

Mae gave a little noise when he pulled her garment down and she blinked at him curiously. Having been alive for as long as she had been left little room for shame. "Well," she started, looking down at her breasts for a moment, "what are you in the mood for?" She let him hold her wrists before she shifted her weight in his bed.

A long look at his groin, "And I wont believe you if you just say you want to sleep." Mae paused for another moment, "and I'd lick the wound after," she dipped forward to swipe hee tongue along his chest, "it would heal perfectly."

Tetra couldn't help but consider his own curiosity. It was true, he couldn't tell her that he just wanted to sleep even though that had been the truth and he couldn't lie to her even if he wanted to. Except when he first wanted to sleep, that had been true, at the time.

He sat back on his  legs and he took her hands to press them against his chest. "And when it's over, will I be like you? Living forever in the dark?" he asked, tone much more civil now.

Her hands smoothed over his chest, thumbs moving along his skin. Fingers tracing over the veins she could see pulsing beneath his skin, her hand moving over his heartbeat. The thump had her biting her lower lip and staring at his flesh hungrily. A bright blue eyed look up at his face when Tetra asked his question and she grinned, tilting her head.

Shifting her shoulders back to display her chest a little more because men found boobs interesting right? "No," She teased, leaning in to nuzzle his warm chest, "That would require much more work, besides," Her tongue licked at her lips and her hands slid back down towards his pants, "I would never turn you if you didn't want me to."

It sounded too good to be true. And when something sounded too good it probably was. Tetra gave her a skeptical look. But her touches made his heart beat faster and he swallowed hard on a dry throat.

"I very much like being alive.  And warm.  With hot rushing blood pushing with fury through the whole of my body," Tetra breathed.  He looked at her hands and he moved his own to slide the waist of his pants away from his hips, pushing them down to his knees.

"I'll admit one thing. I'm curious. And as a scientist, I propose an experiment. You may taste me as only a test. The moment I find any displeasure you will cease.  Or I will throw you from my balcony. Deal?" he asked, voice firm.

"Oh trust me," Mae purred, practically salivating while he spoke. A heavy swallow and she licked her lips, "I like you like that, too." Hot blush rushing through his whole body indeed. There was no shame in how she watched him remove his pants, in fact, Mae grinned wider, looking at him like he was some sort of delicious prize. Which he was. Well, for her he was. Mae took his hips in her hands, using her considerable strength to push Tetra down against his bed.

Her own slip had gotten caught in the sheets she was nude by the time she crawled over him. Her hands moved over his thighs and she pressed a kiss to his thigh, tongue dragging along it until she eyed her prize. The area right below his hip. She pressed her cheek to his thigh before she nuzzled at the flesh. "Deal," She practically moaned out, teeth brushing against flesh.  Obviously, sex wasn't her motivator because she didn't pay attention to his cock - that and her hands were terribly cold and she knew that it would be uncomfortable.

While her saliva had a sort of numbing to it, she looked at him, kissing his hip and trying to work her mental magic before she bit into soft supple flesh. The first mouthful was magic, hot and flowing and full of life she gave an erotic moan against his hip. If she played her cards right - which she always did, but not against other scientists - any pain would be pleasure and hopefully, he'd let her have enough to be warm for at least a little while.

Magic or not, teeth sinking into flesh fucking hurt. And Tetra froze up the moment he pain hit him. He winced and groaned, trying to keep himself from shoving her off right then and there. He scowled at her, couldn't help himself and bit into his own lip.

He gripped the bed while she drank of him, feeling pain grow and throb in his hips and he growled at her.  He was getting pretty close to throwing her off his balcony.

Until the warmth came to him.  He let out a deep breath, exhaling with force when the warmth began to spread through his hip and groin area. He did moan then, throwing his head further into the pillows and wishing she had her mouth elsewhere instead of on his hip.

Just a taste was a lie.

Though a little went a long way and she felt her body warm and her belly heat. Her bloodied tongue laved at the wound and she nicked her tongue to make it heal faster. Put her scent on him. While she was sure he didnt hang out with others her scent on him would definitelty warn others away.

Warmed now and drunk on her meal, she licked her lips until her mouth was free of blood and pressed her lips to his healed hip before moved to sit up. Grinning widely, arms stretched high above her head. "See?" She held his member in a not so cold hand, gave it a few teasing strokes, "only a faint mark. You're welcome." Mae let go of him and stretched, flushed and pleased.

"You're delicious and now I'm warm all over," she flopped back onto his bed, grinning at the ceiling, arns out across his bed and giving a content sigh. "Would you like something as payment for the meal?" She purred, bending her knees and putting a foot on either side of Tetra. "I can see the state you're in, it's been a while but... I could help." Mae just wouldnt mention that a while was probably longer than Tetra had been alive.

Tetra pressed himself firmly against the bed, closing his eyes and feeling Mae move around him. He didn't want to look, even at the healed wound that she'd made. He blinked at her momentarily, eyes fluttering open when she spoke.

"Payment? Oh, because I gave you my blood and now I get something in return," he murmured.  "That would be nice. I guess....would you even feel it?  All you needed was my blood."

Mae chuckled.

"I meant because you're eager and I am willing," She purred, sitting up and crawling over him on her hands and knees, naked as a jay bird. There was a flush to her skin, his blood had gone a long way and for the time being she looked human enough. Pretty. Rosy cheeks and rosy lips. They went well with her dark hair and bright eyes. "Of course I'd feel it," She purred, pressing a kiss to his collar bone, tongue swiping along his neck.

She'd love to taste him again. Just a nick. Just a kiss. Just another taste.

"It would be nice, hm?" She ground herself down against him, like she said, willing. Perhaps more than willing but eager as well, rocked against his manhood and gave her hips a playful wiggle, "Tetra?" She whispered, voice soft, "I'd like to cuddle too, you're warm. I do miss being warm."

He found himself leaning into her touch. He couldn't help himself and he moaned softly, letting go. Just letting his needs take the forefront and letting his cock slide slowly against her body. The soft grinding, even as frustrating as it was, made his heart skip and his breath hitch. He opened his eyes and kissed her softly.

"Willing? That isn't the same as wanting it. You said you hadn't done this in a while, implying maybe you haven't had someone you wanted to screw in that length of time? So you're a little rusty and thus embarrassed to show off?" he chuckled, curious. His hands roved along her back, leaving trails of scratches in the grooves of her spine and down to her back. Yes she was much warmer now, it was a lot nice.

Lips played along her mouth, kissing her neck, sucking curiously on the flesh.

A little gasp at his nails and she arched her back, looking down at him. Mae grinned and pushed her fingers through her hair. What an interesting trip this was turning out to be. Tetra had seemed like he was made of stone but curiosity was always going to win out. A victorious grin and Mae ground herself down against him, eyes falling closed and mouth falling open.

Usually, unfed, she would feel nothing. Now, with fresh hot blood zinging through her system and a hot body beneath her Mae just grinned down at him. "Technicality," She purred, sitting up and resting her hands on his chest. "I have nothing to show off, Tetra," Mae licked her lips and looked down at him, lifting her arms from his chest. "Don't you want to show me how it's done?" She teased, looking down at him, licking her lips, "Or do you want me to show you?"

Showing off really was the least of both of their problems. He wasn't at all like himself, the cold exterior, the keeping people at arm's length because the closeness made them uncomfortable, the preference of studiousness to releasing the heat that had been building up inside of him. He was still a professional, a scientist. And he wondered why she acted so. Was she driven only by the need to feed on blood? Or was it something deeper, laid out from the life she lost?

Tetra rolled them both over as he crawled atop, remembering how it was done. It was only to sate a need, he decided. The need she felt when she bit him, and he need he felt to take her.

Tetra let his body do most of the talking, focusing on the feelings that were boiling deep, as he poised himself and slipped into the body heat that had come from feeding on him.  He kissed her hotly, even possessively, biting out of some annoyance at having his day ruined.

But if it went on like this, it was easily forgiven.  And he clutched her tightly to him as he drove in deep.

It was always a surprise when she was treated, well, her size. Pushed down and made to feel small. The kiss was a surprise and Mae threw back her head, "ah!" She stared at the ceiling for a moment, eyes wide and being entered so forcefully. Angrily. Her fingers dug into his shoulders, gently still but perhaps hard enough to bruise.

A strange sensation, to have a man again and she wriggled her hips to get comfortable. "Tetra," Mae whispered, looking up at him, having pulled away from the kisses. Her hands smoothed up and down his back and she grinned up at him, "I'm not delicate," She whispered, "are you angry?" she leaned up and looked at him, giving a wiggle of her hips and sighing, "Infuriated I made your hard exterior crumble just a little bit? That I made you let me bite you?"

Tetra blinked at her, pausing his motions a moment, holding himself up with both arms. He didn't understand. She said she was willing, and...perhaps that was the point. There was a different between being willing and wanting to.  If she wasn't going to have a good time, then what was the point.

He shook his head. "No," he lied.  Except it wasn't very convincing. "I...I'm kind of irritated yes, but, that doesn't make my, erm, eagerness any less real."  He gave an experimental thrust of his hips and he looked down at her, careful to gauge her expressions, letting his hips run in rhythm to hers.

"Why? Do you not want to then? Because willing and wanting are not two sides of the coin. They're two different values, from entirely different economies," he murmured.  There he went, nerding out again.  An inward sigh and he kissed her cheek, it was almost sweet.

"I can take care of my excitement if you don't want to. I don't want payment, and I won't give it to you. That would imply you're a whore. And I would never imply such a thing."

Mae blinked up at him with wide eyes, grinning though the look faltered and her eyes fluttered closed when he moved. "If I didn't want to we wouldn't be here," A wide grin and she smoothed her hands down his back, giving encouraging wriggles of her hips and listening to him talk about economies. Mae licked at his neck in return for the kiss on the cheek and she let her eyes drift closed, she'd forgotten how to simply... Feel. It was always better if she'd fed and here she was, fat on his blood and his eagerness and she was squandering it.

"Honestly," She breathed into his ear, rolling her hips against his, a hand on his side, "This is why I wanted to feed from you." A lick of her lips and she tilted her head back, shifting her weight to curl her legs around his waist, "You seemed delightful to seduce and here you are, right where I want you." She purred, eyes lowered and her look delightfully, well, evil.

"I want you, Tetra, which is why I'm having you," She licked her lips and guided him down for a kiss, 'accidentally' nicking his lips with her teeth so she could get a taste again while she rolled her hips against him. "Just let go, hmm?" She smoothed her hands against him, encouraging.

It was an encouraging roll, yet something about it felt 'off'.  Of course it was probably because she wasn't exactly alive anymore, and doing this with someone that didn't have a pulse was kind of disturbing to most people. Thank the dragons that he wasn't most people. He felt his eye twitch, his heart skipping and pounding fast.

He couldn't help himself, something hungered deep within. He wanted to feel her brain much in the way she had felt and tasted him. The desire to traverse every waking synapse to see what ticked, and what writhed, and what gave her pain made his breath hitch. And he wondered if she would ever let him inside that mind of hers again.  Then his eye twitched again.

He didn't hold back this time, and let go as she had instructed.  But every roll of his hips against hers, their bodies tightly wound, made images of what he saw previously in her head flash before his eyes and he reached out to her again, focusing on the way her brain lit up like a damn fireworks display, and he felt himself prod at her brightest colors.  Tetra thrusted deeper and faster, clutch her to him.

Not all synapses were open, and the doors that were closed to him made him whisper in her ear.  "Let me inside," he purred hotly, licking at her neck, biting at her flesh, making those colors light up again. "Let me feel your mind.  Gods."

Inside?

Mae smirked, letting her head tilt back in a moan while he worked away between her legs. Who knew Tetra the scientist could be so... Well... Demanding? Her fingers dug into his back and she gave him as good as she was getting. Letting her head fall back, she curled her legs up and writhed under him. Growing tense and needy and Mae bit her lip and pressed her head back into the bed and she laid herself out for him.

It'd been so long since she felt anything and now she wanted everything.

For a moment she hesitated and then... Mae sighed, eyes falling closed. It was strange to let someone in, but curling around him, she opened herself, letting him do whatever to her little mind... As long as he didn't stop moving.

His left eye burned, the machine that had become his eye twitching with more fury than it was accustomed to. That's because in the usually calm Tetra was finding himself in a frenzy. Maybe the years of being pent up for too long were finally being unleashed.

He worked until he fostered that need, his belly growing hot and his body shuddering. Every pulsation made him want more, and he closed his eyes and opened his mind to hers once again, diving inside and traversing those synapses that teased and remained dark to him.

She had opened her mind and yet there was darkness still.  Tetra turned them over so that she was atop and allowed her to ride him to her contentment, such as it was, rolling hips and taking his time to focus.

"Mae," he murmured her name, something born out of a manic need. His hands reached up and gripped her breasts, bringing her body to his, as they continued their rutting.  In mind, he walked into those dark places, that were obscured from conscious vision and saw the thing that had changed her, felt her fear and every other emotion that was laced within that memory. He didn't exploit it, as he could have, as he should have to test her responses.

This was not a therapy session.  So instead he tried to find a positive memory, something to elicit and accentuate the pleasure that was burning brightly between them.

It felt nice to have heat.

Mae didn't really pay much attention to the going ons while Tetra was above her, just reveling in the body heat of another. Something to savour. Something to enjoy for what it was. Sex hadn't been a necessity, but it felt like something nice to share. Something personal to give to Tetra. Mae's blue eyes popped open though, when she was moved like so many bricks on top, and she felt him deeper and she tipped her head back, letting a cool breath out.

Breathing wasn't needed but it felt nice to do.

"Tetra," She moaned, fingers digging into his chest an echo after he said hers, eyes falling closed. The little traces of him in her head. She could taste him and each little mental movement was accompanied by one of her own. Eventually she leaned forward, lips cool, like she'd just returned from outside on a chilly night. Her tongue laved against his pulse and she rocked against him to his heartbeat, hands moving from his chest to his face, thumbs pressed against his jaw.

"Please," She whined, teeth scraping at his neck but not enough to tear skin. Little jolts of pleasure surged through her while she rocked against him. An unfamiliar heat building in her belly. "Tetra," She moaned again, voice softer, higher. Needy and hungry. Her mind was still open to him, pressing against him like she wanted to simply drag him into her mental labyrinth and never let him out.

"Just another one," a nibble at his collar bone, another hot pant, "Please. I'll be good."

Tetra could traverse that mind of hers forever. Or at least until the dawn.

He gasped as she rode him out, pressing him inside of her hot liquid heat until he wanted to come. Every movement made his eyeballs roll back into his skull, seeing the darkness behind them and focusing more on more on touching the colors of her mind.

She was begging him something and only then did his eyes flash open.

"Again?...  Not the neck," he whispered, reaching up to grasp her chest and wrap his arms around her body.  "No scars. I'm too pretty."
