Both Temple and Kimi got fixed with a malevolent glare in turn, but it came around full circle to Temple. "Like hell I'm encouragin' your mind-rape!" he snarled, and didn't care if it made him sound like a crazy person because at least he didn't feel like a crazy person! Like he sure would if he actually replied to the voice in his head with thoughts. Somehow, answering out loud was less crazy.
"I ain't answerin' in my head. YOU answer with your mouth!"
Aramae rubbed her temples, trying to repress her annoyance. Ignoring all the yelling as best as she could, she focused on the important part and looked to Conrad and Kimi.
"If he's going to be under probation, I would suggest doing it humanely," Aramae said. "The consensus seems to be that he's done nothing wrong, but we should be careful, and I agree we should be cautious and observe him until we can be completely certain. But I don't see why that should include keeping him locked up. He should have an armed escort, certainly, but he's not some dog needing to be kenneled."
She gave a shrug. "I believe we should be treating him as a refugee rather than as a criminal. Show him hospitality and kindness and treat him with dignity. If we are so concerned with him trying to escape..."
Aramae barked a laugh and opened her arms. "Shit, I'd be trying to escape, too, in conditions such as these. Let's not give him a reason to attempt something desperate."
