{PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION}

Isandro is shaped like an upside down triangle with defined musculature from the long hours of working on the family farm and working in his restaurant. His curly, dark hair he keeps at a short length, such that it’s more a wave than a curl. His skin-tone is a soft brown, and his face is ruggedly handsome, with a decent beard that he keeps neatly trimmed. It’s likely the only thing that keeps him from being mistaken for his identical twin brother, as no one can tell the difference between them if they were to stand side by side. They both share the same warm, honey-brown eyes, and the twins seem to be able to communicate with just looks when they’re in the same space.

When out working on the farm, Isandro prefers wearing sturdy, steel-toed boots, jeans, t-shirts that give him, as Reyes jokes, a literal farmer’s tan, and a bandana around his head or neck. The bandana has been known to travel, depending on the time of day and what work he’s doing. His leisure clothes don’t really change, either, except that he’ll wear a nicer shirt and jeans that don’t have stains on them. When he’s working in the restaurant, the boots are exchanged for non-slip sneakers and an apron. Like Reyes, his only piece of jewelry is an antique silver cross charm necklace that his grandmother gifted him before she died.

{PERSONALITY}

Unlike Reyes, Isandro can be a little confrontational. Less so now that he’s an adult, but he was often the instigator of fights among the children, especially with their multitude of cousins. Reyes would always bail him out of a fight before it started with his strange ability to just know how people were feeling and say just the right thing to diffuse the situation. He won’t back down from a fight, especially if he believes he’s in the right. But with his restaurant being a big hit among locals and tourists alike, Isandro has toned down his antagonism, at least with the locals. Isandro also isn’t afraid to speak his mind, which is perhaps a side-effect from being unable to lie to his brother. No point in lying if the person you’re lying to knows it. Easier to tell the truth. There’s less to remember.

Fun Facts:
- Isandro loves the farm and puts a lot of effort into maintaining it, often looking into new ways of cultivating his crops to sustain his somewhat farm-to-table restaurant
- He can play the guitar, but he only plays for family
- His favorite cooking implement to use is a molcajete stone
- He enjoys a good tequila

{SPECIAL ABILITIES}

Unlike his brother, Isandro has no special abilities to speak of, at least, none that came up during their testing for Candidacy. Isandro learned everything he needed to know about cooking and farming from his parents, and translated that knowledge over into two rather productive businesses, although he doesn’t consider the farm a business. He cooks authentic ethnic foods in his restaurant, which is frequented both by locals and tourists.

{RELATIONSHIPS}

Reyes Montoya - Isandro’s younger brother by two minutes. Unlike his brother, Reyes dreamed of something more than the family’s farm, of being more than just a rancher, and he got his wish. He still keeps in touch with his brother, and the rest of the family, and visits when he can.

Parents - Though in their twilight years, their parents are still around and live on the ranch with Isandro.

Imerun - Reyes’s dragon, and Isandro’s part-time taste-tester and guard “dog” when he’s visiting the farm with Reyes.

{BACKGROUND NOTES}

Isandro is the first son born to Miguel and Blanca Montoya, two minutes older than his identical twin brother, Reyes. Growing up, the farm and home was everything to Isandro, who never looked beyond it to see if there was another life he wanted to live. This was it. This was what he wanted. And a restaurant. Because he loved cooking, and soaked up all the recipes his grandmothers and mother taught him. He loved it so much, his dream became to have a restaurant himself and cook authentic ethnic food for locals as well as tourists, to give them a food experience they would never forget and come back to for more. Reyes supported him, almost as much as he supported Reyes. It made the sibling rivalry between them exciting, except when Reyes caught him in a lie. Isandro owed Reyes a lot of solids for not telling their parents about the things he did.

When they were fifteen, both boys were tested, but only Reyes had the required abilities. Being separated from his brother was difficult for Isandro, but this was what his baby brother had wanted since he was little. So long as Reyes succeeded, Isandro couldn’t ask for anything less. So, like his brother, Isandro threw himself into his dreams. By the time Reyes was assigned to their home dome, Isandro had a well-established restaurant and was making a living doing what made him happy.
