Physical Description:
Atanase stands tall and lean, with deceptive undercurrents of muscle. He keeps his straight black hair just within regulation length, often wearing it up in a tight bun while at work. His hair is shaved below and behind the ears to keep his neck clear, though it's hard to tell when his hair is fully down. Easily the most startling part of him are his eyes, which are a pale yellow-green. Given his habit of staring, it's really unnerving to be in his gaze.

His skin is dusky, and he sports several dark biomechanical-themed tattoos that run down his neck and over his shoulders, finishing as sleeves around his wrists. This is all underneath his uniform, however, which he is not very often seen outside of. When he isn't in uniform he tends to favor dark, form-fitting clothing and high boots.

Personality:
Aloof bordering on mechanical, calculating, and utterly intimidating, especially when he starts going on tangents about his latest "work". But he's not cruel-- far from it, he's capable of being understanding, even if he has a hard time expressing such understanding or giving any kind of sincere comfort.

He's severely emotionally stunted, so a lot of times his attempts to connect with people fall severely flat, leading him to generally just stop trying.

Fun Facts!:

• He likes to stain his nails, so there is an ombre effect that is darkest at the points. Somehow, in some way, his nails are always impeccable. It's rumored he must spend half his salary on manicures alone.
• He has a pet cat named Jones, who is the ugliest creature on the entire planet of earth.
• Is actually a huge scifi-horror nerd, and his bedroom is plastered with posters of different series/franchises.
• Has the tendency to literally hiss when he's particularly annoyed, though he's usually careful to keep that very much to himself

Magic/Abilities:
Illumokinesis - Atanase's talents lie particularly in the absence of light, obfuscating visibility to where the target can't see a thing even in bright daylight. He finds it easier to create illusions out of shadows, letting his target's unconscious fears make his tricks all the more terrifying.
His telepathic abilities are moderate, though it's hard to tell how much of his ability to read people is psychically-linked, or just him knowing how to prey on people's fears.

Relationships:
Viktor Bartholomew Blackbourne, younger cousin on his mother's side, and a Pilot Cardinal.

History
Atanase is from a very old Aedolian family, though not a particularly psychically potent one. In recent memory, only himself and his younger cousin have shown any kind of psychic prowess worthy of Candidacy. Being power-hungry little bastards, his family was exceptionally disappointed in Atanase's seeming lack of ambition, and continually try to urge him to climb the ranks further than he has.
