Physical Description:
Stykohrians are a naturally thin and tall species. Skin is most often in light, cool tones such as pale blue, green, purple, and a large variety of light greys. Stykohrians have faintly visible white markings on their bodies that act like fingerprints. These markings are known as "Dirah." [dur-ah] Dirah have many shapes and sizes. Some Stykohrians can be so thickly covered with dirah that they appear white. Others' dirah may be very spread out and thin. Rynn's dirah consists of three symmetrical rows of small, dime-sized dots beginning at the bridge of his nose, and arching under his eyes to his jaw. Two thick lines run down and around each arm, with the thinner of each pair extending all the way to the palms of his hands. The thicker comes to a point at each elbow. Rynn also has a few smaller dirah scattered elsewhere on his body that aren't as substantial as the ones previously mentioned. Rynn's skin color is a pale grey/blue.
Another prominent feature of Stykohrians, are the two bio-luminescent "fins" that grow from the top of their otherwise-bald heads. The "fins", known as Amphilyres, or "Lyres/Amps" aren't actually fins at all. They are brightly colored, fleshy appendages that resemble fins. Starting out thin at the head, they increase in width towards the shoulders, and come to a point somewhere at the mid-back. In evolutionary history, these once served as visible signs of warning to others, as well as a defense mechanism. In the event of danger, the Lyres would pulse brilliant bursts of colorful light, which traveled throughout the body by way of the dirah. This caused nearly the entire Stykohrian to light up, and startle predators away. At this point, however, the Lyres serve little purpose other than to convey strong emotions.
Rynn's eyes are bright gold, with hints of green. He is of average height for a Stykorian of his age, and slightly stronger.
Personality:
Rynn is the kind of person to stay away from crowded areas and large cities. He likes the company of others, so long as he's not in a large crowd. Despite his dislike of crowds, he's a very outgoing and charming man. He's a good listener, and makes a point of remembering others' names. He's easy to talk to, and makes a great friend. Becoming a linguist made him aware of other cultures and traditions. He has a high level of sophistication with others, however, it can come across as condescending. When he's alone, he spends his time thinking up poetry or contemplating ideas for gadgets. His mind always seems to be active, and this is has a negative effect on his sleep. Suffering from mild insomnia since he was a teenager, Rynn occasionally experiences moments of "blanking out," which momentarily causes him to lose his place in a conversation or forget what he's doing.

Relationships:
Stykohrian males are hermaphrodites, while females only have one set of reproductive organs. Due to this, homosexuality between males is considered "normal" along with heterosexuality. Rynn is bisexual, and attracted to intelligence. He is not currently actively seeking a partner, but does have the mindset to settle down one day. He's not the type to sleep around or get into non-serious relationships.
History:
Rynn grew up with a twin sister, Lira, and both of his parents. He had a relatively normal childhood on his planet. He got good grades in school, and helped out on the home farm. He had been in two relationships as a teenager. One, with a young man named Telir. They had dated for just under a year, before he found out that Telir had been cheating on him for several months. Shortly after that relationship ended, he began dating his sister's best friend, Zanessia. The relationship went strong for three years, until Zanessia and her family moved away after a long drought caused all of the animals on her family's own farm to die. It was heartbreaking for Rynn, but as he pursued college, and began his teaching job, the memory soon faded. Shortly before Rynn turned 21, things began to turn sour within the planet's government. The newly-elected High Counsel began significantly raising taxes, and limiting resources to prepare for war against a neighboring planet. He was laid off from his job, lost his home, and was eventually forced to live on the streets. Rynn's sister had long since immigrated to another planet along with his parents. He was originally reluctant to leave the place he called home, but ultimately decided it was for the best if he wanted to leave before war turned everything upside down. He stowed away one night on a cargo ship to Edanith, hoping to start a new life for himself.
