__________________IN-DEPTH STUFFPhysical Description Amanda is small and slight, often described as mousy. Her eyes are blue, her hair a dirty blonde and cut to cover her jawline, sometimes styled so it hides only the right side of her face. Her skin is quite fair.
She was injured in an accident, resulting in a large portion of the right side of her body being covered in burn scars. Her right hand was maimed beyond repair, and she lost the sight in her right eye. She wears long sleeves and high collars to hide her scars. There is some scarring on her jawline, but it is barely noticeable and her hair further obscures it.
Her right eye was replaced with a specialized computer interface allowing her to access and interact with any computer network wirelessly. It is however, essentially a computer monitor, not an actual computer. She must have access to a computer processor with which to use it. The interface looks almost identical to her real eye, but it is a slightly paler blue, and under magnification its synthetic construction is visible.
her right hand is a brass biomechanical prosthetic equipped with certain tools specialized for computer engineering. She usually wears gloves in public to hide it.
Personality Amanda is a nerd, and a bit of a smartass. She employs a great deal of programmer jargon and has a penchant for puns.
She is rather arrogant, and takes great joy in displaying her skill as a hacker. She regards her work as an art form. There is beauty in the code.
Magic/Abilities She is a technomancer. She is fond of saying that she is a sorceress and she summons the ghost in the machine. She possesses the magical ability to manipulate mechanical, electronic and quantum devices, particularly computers. The more complicated the device, the greater the power she exerts.
Her powers range from starting and stalling fossil fuel engines, to completely hijacking computer systems and inducing them to perform tasks which would be utterly impossible for ordinary users. She does not require direct contact to do this, and can induce such effects as displaying the video feed of a closed circuit camera on a monitor to which it is not connected.
In a low tech environment she is relatively harmless, but may be a force to be reckoned with in high tech settings with abundant automation, such as space stations or laboratories.
RelationshipsHistory Born on Edanith and raised in Tynova, she showed an aptitude for electrical engineering and computer science at a very young age, as well as intelligence which exceeded early efforts of quantification.
She was flagged as a person of interest by Thanatos Inc. as a child. When her magical talents manifested suddenly in her teen years, she promptly acquired and modified a Libran psychic dampening device so that it would hide her from government detection, but not before the far more efficient agents of Thanatos Inc. found her out.
They used her secret as leverage to pressure her into employment with the corporation as a programmer and a member of their research and development program.
A few years into her employment she stumbled upon classified information regarding the TRIM program. Appalled by the atrocities of her own employers, she ran. She escaped Edanith to the Cancer space station, believing that her former employers are pursuing her with the intention of silencing her before she can reveal their secrets.
