Any swords in the house?

(1/1)

GIR:
What leg does a two-handed sword user usually lead with (dominant or off)?

Rhi-Rhi:
Hmm. Well, when I did fencing, we lead with whatever side held the sword. xD If you were right-handed, you lead with your right foot. For a two-handed sword, my best guess would be that it would vary depending on your stance. :3

I could be wrong, though. xD I only ever did one-handed.

SuperMachinegun:
In medieval times, people who were right-handed held their right hand on the hilt closest to the guard of the sword, left hand close to the bottom of the hilt, with their left leg leading. This is the starting stance for longsword wielding. Hope this helps (:

SuperMachinegun:
This allows more fluid motions in switching between an offensive strike and a quick guard.

GIR:
Thanks!
