Unrequired Running (Open for all!)
« on: January 20, 2012, 02:37:59 am »
Recently, Vedrit had been feeling that his life had become plain, routine, and that he himself had become complacent. Something needed to change, it didnt need to be big, just something. Feeling the need to do -something- quickly aroused the feeling of needing to go for a good run, and thats exactly what he did.
In the wee hours, on deck 4, when few people were bustling about, Vedrit would go for a jog, every day, and jog for as long as he could. Sometimes he got strange looks, probably becuase his height and long legs made his pace more of a run than a jog, but it was all the same to him in either case.
'Maybe it will be the catalyst for something bigger...' he sometimes wondered, sometimes hoped, as he jogged and joogged.
It would be a couple hours before he returned to his apartment, his dark brown hair almost black, slick with sweat.
One thing was for sure; being exhausting did have a pang of exhileration.

Alice hadn't been on Libra in a long time. But they were making a stop there and she wanted to shop. It was pretty early, but she had wanted to get some exercise in, so she was out jogging. She had been going for a while now, wanting to really push herself, face flushed, vivid pink hair bouncing in a high ponytail as she ran.

She paused to take a breather, still bouncing lightly in place to keep her heart rate up as she pulled out a water bottle and took a drink. It was then she noticed another man jogging and she waved, smiling brightly at him, "Wow! I didn't think I was gonna see anyone this early! Hi!"

Almost in a trace-like state, Vedrit almost hadnt noticed the woman with pink hair waving at him. Under other circumstanced, in a difference place, her hair might have been enough to get Vedrits attention, but on Libra, he had grown accustomed to strange hair-colors. He could have sworn there was one lady whos hair changed colors every thirty seconds or so, covering every color in the rainbow and their neon-variations. It might have been his imagination, but he highly doubted it.

Strolling up along side her, likewise jogging in place, Vedrit smiled in return "I guess we both thought the same, then." he answered, though he thought it was late rather than early, but that was all a matter of opinion.
Ordinarily, one of his small-talk-conversation-starters would have been to ask what brought her here, but that was rather obvious.

"Yeah, but its so nice to have the company!" Alice beamed and fanned her face. The worst part of working out was getting so flushed and pink, "It's so nice to get up and start your day with a good run. I'm Alice! What's your name?"

Nodding, Vedrit agreed. This is sort of what Vedrit had in mind when he decided to start going for jogs, meeting new people and all that.
"Start of the day for you, end of the day for me." Vedrit joked and chuckled, "Nice to meet you, Alice. Vedrits my name."

"Really? The end of your day?" Alice stared at him, a look of surprise and puzzlement on her face, "You must have an interesting life then!"

With a nonchalant shrug, "I wouldnt say so. In fact, the main reason why I started going for runs is because I think my life is getting somewhat boring." he replied

"Really? That's too bad! You should get out more then!" Alice beamed up at him, happy she had managed to solve that problem, "I always find interesting things when I go out!"

"Oh, well, that's a good point!" Alice gave a small, breathy giggle, "Does that mean you think I'm interesting?"

Vedrit didnt need much time to consider, "Not really, you?" he replied, hoping she would run with him a bit more. Was far better than returning to his apartment and waiting for a job.

"Oh no! I mean, I've hardly gotten going!" Alice giggled, her body jiggling at the motion. She beamed, "Did you want to run with me? Cause I run pretty hard."

"Yay!" Alice giggled, "Alright then!"

Alice made a few stretches and started jogging down the hallway. She went slow at first, getting warmed up before she pushed harder.

Vedrit had never had much problem with staying warmed up once he got going, even if he took a short break, and having long legs made keeping pace with Alice easier as she continued her jog. The smile on his face was evidence of how happy he was to have company

Alice jogged hard for several miles, focused and intense on the activity. It wasn't until she was ready to stop that she started talking again, hands on her knees and breathing hard, "Wow! That was a good run!"

Vedrit found he was also panting when Alice came to a stop, "Yeah, we'll have to do this more often." he agreed. It was invigorating, the feeling exhausted for the sake of being exhausted

Alice nodded, "Oh yes! It's important to keep up the cardio!" Straightening, Alice took a long drink from her water, face flushed almost as pink as her hair, "So, what is it you do here?"
