Physical Description Nicolai isn't someone who you'd be able to remember from a group of people. He's neither handsome nor ugly. He stands at about 6 feet, give or take an inch, and has a fit, albeit a little skinny build. His long legs and still somewhat fragile looking pianist fingers are the only reminders of his dorky appearance from several years ago.
His brown hair is considered very curly, but it isn't the tight, corkscrew kind of curly. It almost looks as though it were made with a curling iron, but I assure you it's all natural. Nicolai's eyes are a vivid green color and are framed by pretty, long eyelashes, which both go unnoticed due to the fact that he wears glasses every chance he gets. Contacts are annoying and make his eyes dry, and he's deathly scared of surgery. He has soft features--round, almost sad eyes; an asian nose; semi-full lips, and a smooth jawline. He doesn't look like a person who'd join the military, but that's exactly why he did join it.
Personality (This is tentative. ^^;; ) On the surface, Nicolai is a sweet, happy man. He smiles, he gives his comrades little gifts on holidays, and likes to socialize--a drastic difference of his character in only a few years. Somehow he managed to not be bogged down by the rigid standards of the military. He likes to keep to himself most of the time, but he doesn't mind talking, and tries to improve the socializing skills he'd been deprived of before joining the military. He's grateful for the military, even though in the beginning he'd been close to giving up on himself, because it's opened up a whole new world for him in which he's viewed as an equal, and if not an equal at least a comrade.
Nicolai has a lot of dreams for himself. He wants to be a high ranking official in the government, and can't wait for the day to come when his family finally acknowledges him as a superior and stops ridiculing him. He wants to be able to completely sever ties to his past, which he is ashamed of and will avoid talking about it at all costs. Nicolai is so determined to be viewed with respect, he sometimes seriously considers becoming a martyr in order to be remembered.
Weaknesses He is horrible at aiming with rifles because he has shaky arms, but he gets by.
Strengths He runs fast. Really fast. It might have something to do with having to have outrun bullies in the past. >_>;;
Likes CHOCOLATE. YUMM. (No, seriously.) Other foods, a nice fluffy bed and pillow, smiling, laughing.

History Nicolai was born in a middle-class family. He had a mom, dad, and two very pretty sisters. He was the ugly duckling of the group. Skinny and clumsy, he was the laughingstock even among his family, if he wasn't being shouted at for falling over and causing an accident. Although he was afraid of the military, Nicolai soon became determined to become an impressive man, and he decided joining the military was the way. As soon as he was old enough he went to the nearest registration office and signed up. He went through one hell of a time surviving the grueling training, but he's made it and here he is now.
