A chance collision
« on: May 14, 2011, 07:54:03 pm »
The doctors and her friends said that she should probably hold off on the exercise for a while, but what did they know? It was her body, after all. She knew best how far she could push herself. And besides, she was sick of lazing around and looking like a skeleton; whether her body was in agreement with her or not, she was going to get it back into shape.

The sight of her hipbones and collarbones, sticking out at such severe angles as she pulled on exercise clothes had been enough to carry Darla several blocks at a quick pace, but now, the burning in her chest and the rapidness of her heartbeat were getting the best of her. It was embarrassing that she was already exhausted, since she'd only been out for a few minutes or so, but since she didn't have any intentions of returning to the hospital, she resolved to sprint the rest of the block and return to walking until she got home.

She didn't make it far, though; she'd been distracted by a combination of irritation at her body's weakness and a street sign, and now she was barreling towards someone. The streets were usually pretty quiet here in the morning with everyone sleeping off their hangovers, but she'd managed to target one of the few people actually on the same sidewalk as her. "Oh, sh--" she didn't have time to finish the expletive, much less slow herself down before she collided with the other. Instinctively, she grabbed their arm to try and steady the both of them, but her momentum was still carrying her forward.

It was important to keep in shape for her job. There was work for the larger girls, but it was all fetish work and was much harder to get into and jobs were much less frequent. Plus, she had that audition to go to for the Mherlise Çeversé! Eeeeee!

Which meant that Yasmine needed to step up her morning jog. She liked going early to avoid the crowds. She had just started out, eating up the ground at an easy pace, heading toward the part not too far away, music blasting in her ears. Her mother always warned her not to do that, that she was going to get mugged or raped, but Yasmine loved her music too much to stop.

Lost in her music, she wasn't paying as much attention as she should have and went down when she felt a form slam into her. One of Yasmine's arms wrapped around the shape reflexively and she landed hard on her butt.

Pain shot through her and she winced, "Oooow! That hurt!" Blinking, Yasmine stared at the woman that had slammed into her, "Are you okay?"

The only two things Darla could process as she and her unfortunate victim fell were that there was an arm wrapped around her and that she knew its owner from somewhere. Still, there wasn't a lot of time between the shift from being vertical to horizontal to think about it. She managed to extend an arm past the woman's waist in an attempt to lighten the fall for the both of them. It turned out that all this gave her was a handful of pavement, but at least she was keeping her weight off the other.

Under most circumstances, she would have rolled off her immediately, but the arm around her prevented that for a moment. Usually, people touching her made her highly uncomfortable, but the anxiety and discomfort that usually stemmed from physical contact didn't come. In fact... she almost felt like this woman was familiar. She glanced up for the first time, and immediately realized why.

Darla recognized the face quickly and also, admittedly, the body. Though a name didn't spring to mind, memories certainly did; she could feel blood rushing to her cheeks already. Her views on sex hadn't changed quite as dramatically as those on drugs, but she was still ashamed to think of the things she'd done to try and gain popularity.

For whatever reason, though, none of the immediate dislike usually associated with things in the Ximena era of her life came up. She took a second to clear her head, trying to sort things out before she opened her mouth and said something stupid. "I'm fine-- sorry, I got distracted for a second there. Are you alright?"

Thankfully the woman was rather slight, so her extra weight didn't really bother Yasmine much. Though, the body under her arm was alarmingly thin, she could feel woman's ribs under her fingers. Shaking her head, dark ponytail swaying, Yasmine gave the woman a reassuring smile, "Oh, I'm fine. Really. Lots of padding to absorb the impact!"

Half the reason she was running was to make sure she didn't get any more padding on her backside. Though, the woman on top of her, limbs all tangled together felt really familiar. Yasmine studied the woman's face, trying to place her, "This might sound rather our of the blue, but have you ever done porn? You just seem awfully familiar..."

She flushed, feeling a little stupid for asking. There was no way the woman had been in a movie with her before. She would have remembered someone so frail looking.

A smile tugged at Darla's lips at her remark, even though she had to admit to feeling the slightest bit jealous at the thought of having extra padding on her body. She used to have to work out to lose weight, but now the only way for her to gain it was the healthy way, by building up muscle and working up an appetite. Otherwise, she had little to no appetite and would only waste away more by sitting around surrounded by cheeseburgers.

Even if touching this woman wasn't as uncomfortable as it was with most people, being on top of her was getting a bit awkward. She shifted slightly, wincing as the hand that had absorbed most of her impact pressed harder into the ground. She tugged away from the woman's arm before freezing at her remark as she always did when someone got close to recognizing her.

"Um. I'm a little sickly for the cameras," she said with a slight laugh, forcing herself to loosen up a bit as she went back to untangling herself from her. Darla lied to people on a regular basis, but for whatever reason, she actually kind of wanted to tell this woman the truth. How odd. Still, she wasn't up to telling anyone about her old self, no matter how sweet and kind they seemed. "But I sort of get that a lot. There must be some really popular girl out there that looks like me!" She smiled playfully, quelling her anxiety. "Anyways, you're some kind of porn star? How neat, I thought I recognized you!"

"Oh, you aren't that bad, really." She was, but Yasmine wanted to be nice. Reaching out, she did her best to steady the other woman as she stood up. The other woman must just look like someone she had worked with, that happened sometimes and she felt a little bad for mixing them up.

Carefully standing, Yasmine rubbed at her butt. There was so going to be a bruise there, she could tell. Damn! Oh well.

"Oh yes!" Yasmine beamed, "I'm not really all that well known yet, but I've been in quite a few. Do you watch much?"

"You're sweet," Darla laughed, shaking her head. She often forgot that her remarks on the state of her body often made others uncomfortable; to her, her body meant little. Worrying about physical attractiveness was now a thing of the past for her, but the rest of the world still seemed to care. Trying not to lean on the woman much, she forced herself to stand, ignoring the complaints of her knees.

She brushed herself off a bit, peering at Yasmine and hoping that she hadn't really hurt her and she was too nice to admit it. Her memories of the film they'd done together were hazy, but she distinctly remembered how nice the other woman had been. How had she acted towards her? Probably not nicely. Hopefully she could make it up to her now.

"That's really cool," she smiled, nodding. "I hope you make it big time! I haven't watched much lately, but I used to... I bet your job is really cool, though! I always sort of wanted to be an actress, but I'm still bartending. Anyways, I'm Darla!"

"Oh! I'm not that sweet! It doesn't count as sweet when it's true." Standing up, Yasmine brushed herself off, laughing, a light blush staining her dark skin, "Thank you! I hope I make it big too. I miiiight be getting into something really cool, but I don't want to jinx it, ya know? But fingers crossed!"

Holding out her hand, Yasmine gave Darla a huge smile, "It's nice to meet you Darla! I'm Yasmine! My porn name is Midnight Exotica." She knew it was a slightly silly name, but she had picked it years ago and didn't want to change it.
