Something to believe in [open]

Nakkura rolled around in the grass of the hill, his orange fur brushing the flowers, and he straightened up in his humanoid form once their fragrance had covered him. Pulling one knee up and resting his elbow on it, he cupped his chin in his hand and stared out at the earth beyond him. In patches, there were expanses of emerald green where the barren dusty red ground had been terraformed, and a stream bubbled like sapphire paths here and there. It was times like these that he wished to keep his fur on forever and run across the planet, smelling every rose and chasing every rabbit, until his legs grew too weary to hold up his body.

But when he looked again, there was the distinct shape of a mage bending to a stretch of ugly red, with its master standing to the side of it. In a sparkle of green light, grass and other sprouts bloomed from the barren earth, and the pair walked on to another stretch. The wolf’s keen violet eyes took in the silver bands that connected them and wondered if this was a life of slavery or free will. Either the mages were forced to use their powers to create life or they simply needed guidance.

Who wouldn’t want to create this beauty, though? He glanced up at the sky and the light outlines of the twin moons still visible in the early morning. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he pulled his hands into his sleeves and folded his arms across his stomach, sitting in the chill of a lingering night. He continued to survey the world before him, the artificially created but beautiful vision of the plants of Edanith. Did the saplings and flowers have a right to live just as the naturally dominating plants of what had been Earth had?

Nakkura did like to watch the world he dwelled on now slowly shift into something of natural beauty, and he hoped that the enslaved mages who toiled over the earth to make it beautiful would have that small sense of wonder at what they had created, something to keep them going…

"Oh. I'll go for a walk. It'll be fun. Get some sun! Brilliant." Kaimana rolled her eyes, brushing her brightly died hair back behind her ear. She was sweating a little and had picked up a bit of dirt. Lovely. Well, at least there were no one she had to impress.

Kaimana actually liked the outdoors, but she was not having much luck today. She had tripped twice and walked into a tree. Which had totally come out of nowhere. Giving up, the Mordecai flopped onto the ground, sprawling out under the sun. This at least was nice, it was a nice day out and she was a bit of a sun worshiper. And there was something...primal being at the edge of it all. Watching life spring up from the red soil.

A noise caught her attention and Kaimana sat up, glancing around. She heard someone moving around, and being curious, crawled up the hill, not caring that her pants were getting a grass stain. There was a ginger haired boy on the other side of the hill. Company! Always fun.

The short girl gave a wave, still on her hands and knees, "Hello there!"
