Physical Description Tall, strong-looking. His right side from the shoulders down is entirely bionic, robotics mixed with magics to make it strong and to match his natural body, giving him an oddy symmetrical look, considering most humans are asymmetrical.
His face is hard, but there is something about him that makes him trustworthy.
His eyes are grey, and his knuckles are reddened and callused. His hair is long and tied back, and he usually has a few days' stubble.
Anaru has long black eyelashes that are really very beautiful, but he'll punch you in the face with his bionic hand if you say so.
Personality He loves the idea of sticking it to the man, at least if it's an Aedolis man. Anaru will kill an Aedolis as mercilessly as he knows they'd kill him, and he'd just as quickly rescue refugees and treat them as kindly as he was treated. He doesn't mess around, either way, and he's not sentimental in the least. He finds women more sexually appealing than men, but he's not the kind of guy to enjoy postcoital afterglow. He is, above all, businesslike and determined to bring down Aedolis, in any way he can.
Weaknesses He can be very pigheaded and stubborn, even when he knows he's wrong (although he will tell you he is never wrong). His businesslike manner is as much a weakness as a strength, and as a consequence, he misses out on human interaction. He is lonely, though he wouldn't admit it for all the money in the galaxy.
Strengths Essentially, though, Anaru is one of the good guys. He helps people who need helping, and kills people who need (in his opinion) killing. He mostly looks for jobs that are for good causes (as long as they pay well), and he can be kind when he wants to be. It's just a matter of him wanting to be.

Family His parents were both killed in an accident when Anaru was just a child. He grew up with his half-crazy aunt, who made up stories about the outside world that were actually complete lies, but Anaru believed them. She is his only family that he is aware of, but he does have a living set of grandparents in one of the Seruna space stations. No brothers or sisters.

Foes Aedolis' government, mostly. A few rivals in the piracy business that he'd willingly kill on sight.
History Anaru was born in Teinar. When he was about four, his parents were killed in an accident that was never clarified to him by his aunt Mirgo. He lived a fairly normal life, always fascinated by the thought of the sky, and seeing as much of it as he could. Which was why, when he was in his twenties, he took the next ship out, accidentally ruining his body when he turned to have one last look and acid exploded in a landfill and hit him in the process.
He was repaired with a robotic half, which was aided by a magical process to aid his strength and to keep the right half matching the left half. He has hated the Aedolis since his schooldays when he learned how the Teinari were forced to hide underground because of them, and the accident with the acid only increased his hatred. He would probably be very cruel to an Aedolis citizen, if he was ever aware of meeting one outside the continent.
He has bought his own spacecraft recently, and has run a few illegal cargo missions by himself, but it is increasingly becoming apparent that he needs at least one additional crewmember.
