Physical Description
Izzy is a slim young woman of average height, with bright red hair just a shade darker than a carrot. She has narrow-oval shaped face, and a firm jaw line. Her facial features are more striking than pretty; she has thing lips, a narrow nose, and a very freckled complexion. Her eyes are her most noticeable feature, although not because of their beauty. Isobel's eyes are a bright, slightly unatural shade of blue. Their color is "slightly unnatural" because Izzy's eyes are artificial; as a child, Izzy suffered a freak accident that left her original eyes permanently damaged and unable to see, leading her family to pay for a costly surgery to get them replaced. The skin around her eyes and the bridge of her nose is a shade lighter than the rest of her skin due to the accident, and there are two minute metal studs at her temple, further signs that she has had an eye replacement.

Izzy cares little for fashion, and it shows in her clothing. Her outfits have a comfortable, worn look them, and are in solid, earth tone colors. She always wears a black bomber jacket and aviator sunglasses that hide the majority of the scarring around her eyes.
Personality
Izzy McLachlan is not a person people enjoy hanging around, and not just because of her unusual appearance. Gruff, honest to a fault, and easily irritated. She has a fiery, short-fuse, and will snap at someone if they so much as look at her oddly. This behavior developed due to years of being teased for her looks, and has also led her to become self-concious and insecure, wearing large sunglasses to hide the damage done to her face. After years of such taunts, she prefers to work on her own or with her robot, Eustace, although she occasionally wishes she had a few close human friends.

McLachlan is a highly intelligent young woman, and is unusually gifted with computers. She can think very clearly under pressure, and is good with strategy and complex planning. She's a major perfectionists and workaholic, obsessing over every tiny detail in her programs.  Izzy also has a habit of documenting everything that happens, from her day to day motions, to codes she's written or picked up, everything.
Weaknesses Her eyes can be a bit of a hinderance from time to time. Every two years, she has to get a check-up to make sure they aren't faulty, and every five years she needs to get them upgraded. The upgrades take quite the toll on her; she's in bed for two weeks afterwards, and suffers from acute migranes for a month after that.

Strengths Despite their setbacks, Izzy's eyes are also one of her strengths. With her eyes, she can zoom in and out on any object she chooses. Her eyes can also change to nightvision, infrared, and a limited type of x-ray vision.

History
Isobel Ingris McLachlan would have had a fairly unremarkable childhood, had it not been for a fateful visit to the docking bay on a class field trip. Some toxic chemicals had been brought in on one of the ships, and as a five-year-old Izzy was walking past, one of containers burst open, and blasted Izzy in the face, permanently damaging her eyes and scarring the skin around it.

If you were to ask Izzy about the next two years of her life, she'd confess that she remembers almost none of it, save for the feeling of excruciating pain. Izzy spent most of her sixth year of life blind, trying to adjust to the newfound darkness. During this difficult period of her childhood, her parents saved their money to afford an unusual type of surgery that would give their daughter back her eyesight. On her seventh birthday, Izzy went onto the operating table, and got an eye replacement as a birthday present. She then spent the next year undergoing physical therapy to get control over her new eyes.

The years after this were uneventful and unremarkable. Izzy kept to herself, and was at the top of her classes in school. As an adult, she is now a computer programmer who specializes in security systems, and builds robots in her spare time.

Commentary Izzy is the second oldest character I've created, who originally appeared as a spaceship pilot in a KH fanfiction story I wrote, than later as a hyperactive computer hacker. She's been evolving ever since, and this is her most recent version.

Physical Description Cat has a fairly androygnous look to her. She's tall and has a slim frame with very little curves. Catlin has a narrow oval-shaped face, and very delicate facial features. She has fair skin, slightly pink cheeks, and slanted, almond-shaped brown eyes. Before her trip into deep space, Cat got her hair cut in a very boyish style.

Personality Caitiln Kai Xun, upon first meeting her, is often described as energetic, but that's just putting it lightly. Caitlin is an enthusiastic, almost hyperactive young woman who seems to have a never ending thirst for adventure and knowledge. She's inquisitive, and asks questions about everything, from the political climate to how to repair space ships.

Miss Xun is ever the optimist, and always tries to look for the silver lining in every situation. She's unusually sensitive too, if you say something particularly harsh to her, Cat will usually wind up getting a little teary-eyed and start to sniffle. This sensitivity leads to her to be particularly kind others, for she doesn't want to hurt their feelings by saying the wrong thing.

Strengths Cat is fast learner and an adaptable problem solver, which was why she was selected for the 2107 space mission. She's very observant, and can develop a rudimentary grasp on languages and customs after a few weeks in a particular society

History
The year is 2090. The United Space Federation, an organization dedicated to the exploration and colonization of space, decided to develop a ship that could go outside of their solar system and explore deep space in a search for intelligent life. Seventeen years later, with the ship, the Eurydice, built and ready for flight, they selected a youthful and eager astronaut for the mission, one Caitlin Xun. She set off on February 21, 2107, and was expected to return on the same day twenty years later.

She never returned.

After getting past the last planet in her solar system, something went terribly wrong with Cat Xun's mission. The space surrounding Earth's solar system was surrounded by wormholes, and, just Cat's luck, she got sucked into one. The wormhole experience felt only like twenty four hours for her, but in reality, she spent more than a million years trapped in that twisting, head-reeling tunnel. Fortunately for her, she managed to escape, and is now flying somewhere near Saturn. Unfortunately for her, she's more than a million years into the future, and has no idea what her world's like anymore.
