Physical Description Velas looks very much like a child - and that's because he is. Due to the Pilot Candidate program 'recruiting' at age 13, he became a Pilot at an early stage in his development, and as a Tsumi he is but a child. He is very short and wiry, not so much thin but built as much as an ever-moving child would be expected to be.
As a Tsumi, his hair is just a shade darker than his stark-white skin, a bit messy and naturally 'boyish.' His face - adorable by some standards, but perhaps a little creepy to those not used to seeing Tsumi - is a little rounded and long, with very pinchable cheeks. His face is dominated by two unusually large, pitch-black eyes, alien and foreign to most.
Personality Very, very timid, and easily scared. He's very much a child, and one that had no want or aspirations to be anything other than a child. Torn from his parents, he is frequently very sad and lonely. To any that grow close to him, he can be a very dear friend, only wanting to help and have fun, but it can be expected that he would need alot of support. He really doesn't want to be a candidate, and is terrified of being TRIM'd. Used to being loved by all, and being torn from his family, he is very fragile, and still slightly dealing with the shock of this sudden change.
Magic/Abilities Telepathy - only just enough to qualify for candidacy
Precognition - has a tendency to know of events before they happen, but exact accuracy has yet to be determined.
Also, as a Tsumi, Velas is capable of shapeshifting, though he has no idea how to use or control it. When he gets scared or startled, he tends to suddenly change colors, much to the amusement of many Stage 1 and Stage 2 bullies.
Relationships His parents and all his childhood friends, very much alive, but so far out of reach. Otherwise, Velas is a very lonely child.
History Velas's history is very short, and very typical of a mid level life. He was raised in an all-Tsumi community, and loved by all within it - Tsumi children are a rare luxury, and almost all wanted a hand in raising him. At his coming of age screening, he was discovered to be gifted with telepathy, and already had a history of knowing about certain events days or weeks ahead before their occurrence. He was immediately drafted into the Pilot Program, and thrust into a Stage 1 dorm.
