Tetra Phaedras wasn’t exactly looking forward to work today, but the shuttle out to TRIM went by surprisingly without incident. Not that there were many incidents on shuttles out to space stations. And if there were, he’d been lucky enough to avoid such unnecessary disruptions to what he knew would already be a busy day.
No, what was strange today was the fact that he seemed to be entirely alone on this shuttle flight. There was just the pilot, and an old woman that sat in the far back that only regarded him with a smile. He didn’t smile back, and just eyed her before taking his seat. After staring at her became less and less interesting, he reverted back to his own computer and referred back to his notes.
Tetra found his way into his office and sipped his coffee quietly. He truly hoped this day would be as boring as the day before, because all in all he needed that kind of monotony in his life. Just enough to keep unpleasantness at bay.
Oh he was confident, he reminded himself, that he could handle anything that came barreling his way. He was a skilled psychiatrist after all, one of the highest paid in his field and didn’t work for TRIM for peanuts. Speaking of which, he made sure to remove the jar of peanuts his assistant kept on their desk, stashing them away into a utility cabinet.
Nobody would miss them. Except his assistant.
“All right,” he called into the com. “I’m ready for my first patient, Ryan. Feel free to send them in now.”

"Ms. McAlistair? You can come in now."
Annabelle glanced up from the magazine she'd been idly flipping through with a quick smile and bounced to her feet. "Yessir," she responded to the rather squirrely man who was beckoning her into her new psychiatrist's office.
She tripped easily into the doorway and knocked on the frame, peering inside. "Hey, uh, Doctor Phaedras, right?" She smiled and took a little step into the room, hands smoothing a little self-consciously over her TRIM-commissioned white hospital garments.
"I'm your new morning appointment." She bounced the rest of the way into the room, tilting her head so her choppy auburn hair fluttered around her face.

The name was unusual to him, but Tetra preferred not to question when new patients made him their therapist. He took out his notetab and took a seat by the transitioning view of the window, that projected a computer generated city-scape, likely that of the Aedolis skyline.
"Have a seat," Tetra indicated, to either the armchair or the couch beside it. "Make yourself comfortable Ms. McAllister. Being my first appointment for the day, you've caught me in a particularly good mood. I hope you're well today. Are you?"

"Um, yeah. Sure." Annabelle took a seat in the armchair, perching on the edge. She crossed her ankles, then her legs, then her ankles again, fidgety and nervous.
"To be honest, Doctor, I'm not quite sure why I'm here," she admitted after a moment with a nervous laugh. "I didn't really think I needed a therapist- but, I mean, whatever the doctor says, right?" Another nervous little chuckle.

Doctor's orders, huh? Now wasn't she a special little bean.
"Oh, don't worry. Just relax. We don't have to start right away. But you being here, we both know, is no coincidence. Somebody inserted this appointment into your normal routine," he said with a nod, and cold smile.
"We can just talk. How are you? Did you sleep well?"

Annabelle frowned slightly. This guy was too polite, it was freaking her out. "Yeah, I slept...fine," she mumbled, hunching her shoulders a bit. "Weird dreams, but I always have those. I sleep through the night though- roommate says it'd take a firefight to wake me up." She tried to joke, to lighten the mood of the room a bit.

"Heavy sleeper huh? I've seen a lot of those," Tetra nodded. "How are you acclimating to your surroundings?"
He made small notations in his note tab, and crossed his legs more relaxed. "Dreams, you mentioned those. What kind of them do you have? What about them makes them weird?"

"Well...you know serial dreams? They're kinda like those, only it's always this same person. A woman, and she says she's my mother." Annabelle shrugged and glanced away, biting at her lower lip. "I mean, it might be a memory, right?"
She tilted her head at the doctor. "They, um, they told you I'm an amnesiac, yeah?"

An amnesiac. That word certainly caught him off guard.
Tetra glanced at her at the mention of it, and he paused his writing motions, waiting for her to extrapolate. But if she remembered nothing, what more was there to tell? "That certainly is strange," he admitted. "What happens in these dreams? What does this woman say to you other than that she's your mother?"

She tilted her head at him. "I'm...not really sure. It's hard to remember, sometimes. I just get snatches, ya know? Flashes."
She shrugged and pulled her legs up onto the chair, folding them under her body. She honestly wasn't sure she wanted to tell the doctor what she did remember- it seemed crazy even to her.
"She says I'm special," Annabelle mumbled after a few moments. That seemed safe enough. "She says that...all her children are special."

This was a strange tale, and it certainly brought Tetra out of his bored reverie. He sat up with interest, leaning on his armrest and jotting something down on the tablet in front of him. Notes for later, references with which to cross-examine.
"All of her children? Does this mother seem particularly coddling? Where is she now? Does she possess certain abilities that you share?"

Annabelle blinked, a little overwhelmed by his sudden interest. "She- I- I don't know," she stammered out. "They're just dreams, doc. She's not...real motherly, if you get what I'm saying, but she's not cold either."
She shrugged. "I dunno anything else about her. She just keeps tellin' me I'm special, then goes away."

"Hmm, this is very interesting." Tetra had never heard of such recurring dreams before. And this clearly seemed as if this has happened on a fairly often occurence. "Most recurring dreams are feelings or memories often buried deep within our subconscious. Most of the time we don't even know they're there. Metaphysics will tell you, it is your deeper self trying to break through to you, to perhaps change your life. If you believe that sort of hogwash."
"But not all of it is that way, however. You say she tells you you're specials. Let's explore that for a moment. What makes you special, my dear?"

She shook her head. "Nothin' really. 'Cept the fact that I'm in here I guess."
She shrugged and offered a sheepish smile. "I've got magic- lightnin' and such, electricity- but loads of people got that. Doesn't make me special that I can see."

"I disagree," Tetra murmured. "You see you wouldn't be here if you weren't special." He tilted his head, examining her closely for a time and he put his notes down. Standing he approached her. "I want to do a little exercise, an examination if you will. It may help me get a better understanding of you. And you perhaps of yourself. Will you allow me?"

"Errrr..." Annabelle shifted a little uncomfortably and gave him a wary look. "I, uh, I guess so- what're you gone do, exactly?"

"Take an afternoon stroll through your mind. See into the deeper parts of yourself that might be locked away," he explained. "I'd say it's painless. But I'd be lying."

She gulped and shrank back from him slightly. "How...not painless?"

"Like a pinprick at most," Tetra said with a small sigh. Really, did he have to explain the thorough ins and outs of his examination? He suppose if he wanted a little more cooperation, he could afford to expend a little more...congeniality .
"In the brain of course," he said and he closed his eyes, reaching out to her with his mind, as he stood behind her chair, hands firmly planted on the neck support. He gripped it tightly and took in a deep breath, forcing his consciousness into her mind.
Resistance, really, was futile.

Futile it may have been, but hearing that he was going to "pinprick her brain" had Annabelle resisting in instinct. She gasped, eyes going wide, and every muscle in her body tensed up as she tried not to let her magic spin out of control.
Still, a few sparks of electricity played at her fingertips.

The puzzle pieces looked the same, the maze of a mind like any other. And yet it wasn't. Even with the usual avenues he envisioned, could see like highlighted sections of quadrants of a separate reality. He felt himself there, capable of making tangible contact with every thought.
He was gentle though and walked through her mind. Outside of the examination, Tetra said, "Take in a deep breath. Easy now."

Annabelle gave a soft whimper and tried to do as he said, eyes clenched shut. She couldn't quite decide what it felt like, exactly, but she knew she didn't really like it.
She tried to focus in breathing. In and out. In and out.

Tetra kept his presence soft, trying to take babysteps, for lack of a better phrase. He could see very little as he explored, pushing through the clouds where he could, and he heard the voice that she did in her dreams, and it drew him in.
He felt his heart beating faster. "Your mother...is strange," he said. "It isn't any clearer.... It...feels as if we are not alone here."

Her heart jumped up into her throat. "Not- not alone? How- you're in my head!" Panic was starting to set in.
Trespasser.
What? Was that the doctor? Could he hear that?
Cast him out. Don't let him see.
Cast- let him see what? What was going on?!
NOW!
This time the voice was accompanied by a jolt of pain. Annabelle screamed and her magic reacted on instinct, surging out in an effort to protect her until every inch of her skin momentarily served as a live wire, crackling with electricity.

He did hear the voice and it alarmed him greatly. Tetra could feel himself heat up, and he saw a horrific face on the other side of the plane in which he wandered. He fortified his position, but staring into another face, it made him gasp, one that neither Annabelle's nor his.
He screamed suddenly, pulling back and he was shoved back against the office door. Tetra was shoved from her mind and he gasped staring up at her. He was razzled, electricity still crackling about his body. He slammed his hand on the com from his wall.
"Get the subject out of here at once," he hollered, still trying to catch his breath.

Gasping, Annabelle almost collapsed in on herself. Pain and magic still buzzed through her, and it took a moment before she realized Tetra had been flung against the wall.
The subject. Sakes alive, she was so sick of being called that. "I- wait, please- I'm sorry, it was an accident!" She tried to get to her feet but her knees trembled and threatened to give out.

But it would be too late. Already the black-suited guards had her incapacitated and were carrying her out of the room and back to her quarters.
Tetra caught his breath, brushing his hair back that loosened from his ponytail and fixed his glasses. He sniffed and frowned at the black burn marks her magic had left behind. Best to get that fixed right away. Can't have her having an more 'accidents'

"Wait, wait, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-" Annabelle was still babbling when she was dragged back to her quarters and locked in. Unable to hold herself up any longer, she collapsed against the wall, drew her knees up to her chest, and sobbed.
She didn't know how long she stayed like that. She could vaguely hear a guard being posted outside her room, and someone talking about labeling her officially "dangerous".

The dark of the room was momentarily disturbed when Annabelle was shoved inside of it. Cal blinked, clearly disturbed when he heard voices. This time they weren't just in his head.
He sat up on his cot, dropping the deck of cards he'd been flipping through and he glared at her.
"What? Your session with the doc not go well?" he asked with a sniff, and wiped a bogie from his nose.

Sniffling, the Mage slowly raises her head. "Y-you could say that." She dropped her chin onto her knees with a sigh. "I sorta...zapped the doctor..."

That was enough to spark a cackle from Calixte. He shuffled off the bed sliding next to her.
"That's hilarious. You know I always disliked that snooty bastard. I hope you got him good."

Annabelle gave a watery chuckle and leaned against his side. "He's not that bad," she protested halfheartedly.
A sigh bubbled up in her chest and she hid her face in her hands. "Oh gods, Cal, I fucked up so bad. Wh-what if they take me away? I could've really hurt him!"

"No, he's bad. Even the way he talks, like he's never been laid," Cal commented with a chuckle. "Seriously, even his name sounds like a headache. Phaedras. Dr. Tetra Phaedras. More like Tetra Fuck-head."
He turned slightly and put his arm around Annabelle. "Don't worry. They'll have to drag you away kicking and screaming. But probably not. THey'd most likely drug you and me then drag you out. Hrm. I guess that's not making anything any better."

She went from laughing to scowling at him in a matter of seconds. "No, Cal, it's really not helping," she agreed dryly.
With a huff Annabelle curled herself more comfortably against his side, tucked under his arm. "Well, at least you'll have te room to yourself. That oughta make you happy, huh?" she muttered balefully.

"Nah, I never was one for rooming alone. I find I start hearing shit coming in from the walls. Besides I like having someone to spoon with. It's boring alone. After you masturbate, you knock out then it's all over," he said with a shrug. "Oh and I like you. THat's gotta count for something."

Annabelle giggled again and shook her head at him. "I'm not sure whether I should be flattered on concerned," she teased wryly, giving his shoulder a little bump.

He gave her a look. "Be flattered of course! It's me you're talking too. Besides we're roommates, we better learn to get along," he said. He bumped her back, a little harder.

"Jerk," she accused fondly, retaliating by tickling his sides vindictively. Her eyes were still puffy and tear tracks traced her cheeks, but at least she was smiling.

Cal yelped and scurried away. "nooo! No-no-no-no!" he howled with laughter trying to fend her off. He cackled until his sides hurt from laughter instead of the side poking. How dare she use this against him, his one weakness!
"You better quit! HAHAHA! IT! Before...you get it back! HA! TWO-FOLD!"

"Ha!" Annabelle chased after him, giggling uncontrollably. "What are you gonna do about it, huh?" she taunted with a lopsided smirk.

He whirled on her, evading her hands for a moment turning the tables. He couldn't jolt her like he normally would. Instead he ducked his head inside the flesh of her neck, and blew a hard barrage of raspberries.

She squealed, loudly, and tried to dart away, but found herself rather trapped. "A-alright, Cal, I- ahahaha!- I'm sorry, I'm s-sorry! Knock it- haha- eek! Knock it off!"

Cal relented only when he had her pinned, and he was panting down at her, laughing and trying to catch his own breath. "You play with electricity, hun, you're going to get zapped," he said and sent a small spark arcing to her nose.

She smirked and wiggled a bit at the tingly sensation. "Is that so?"
Annabelle reached up to trail her fingers over the nape of his neck, letting tiny, harmless tingles of electricity shower from her fingertips. "You're not the only one who can make sparks fly, hun," she teased, crinkling her nose at him.

Cal felt shivers he shouldn't have. Even if he could go for days without a lay, he could use a good one now. But he resisted. It was best not to get too attached. But that didn't mean he couldn't play along. He did like games after all.
He chuckled, snorting a laugh at the tickle on the back of his neck. "Yeah, well, my sparks used to fly a lot faster and more severely, but when scientists poke your brain, it makes it a little harder," he snorted, letting another spark arc between their foreheads until his brow was pressed to hers.

Annabelle huffed in agreement. If she was being honest, the little tingles arching down her spine weren't entirely from their magic, making it hard to focus- but she knew better than to dwell on those thoughts.
Didn't she?
"Well, apparently I've got enough zap left to get me in trouble with the doc," she muttered, mouth twisting down at the corners.

"Well, he ain't here to prod you anymore," Cal said pointedly crawling off of her and laying to the side. He stared up at the ceiling. And released a big sigh. "When I get out of here, I'm gonna get back to business. I can't be making any money while locked up in here."

She sighed and rolled onto her side to look at him. "Yeah, but what good is money gonna do ya in here, honestly?" she pointed out with a quirked brow.

Money. The better question was what couldn't it buy!?
"Well hell! It's more useful out there than in here. But it's still damn awesome. I mean, when you're on a high stakes job and then suddenly you see those credits roll in, and it's like KABLAAAMO! I could jizz just thinking about it. Er sorry."

Annabelle screwed get face up at him. "Charming, Cal. Charming," she muttered with an eye roll.

"That's who I am," he said. He curled in on his side to look at her. "That's why we're such best buds!"

She rolled her eyes again but chuckled. "Yeah, I guess it is." With a small sigh, she propped herself up on an elbow and reached out with her free hand to tousle his hair. "Alright, I'm beat. If the guards come for me, tell them I escaped," she muttered dryly as she stood and moved toward the cot.

And that was when Cal reached out to grab her ankle, pulling her back toward him. "You're not leaving so soon are you!? I thought we were connecting!"

Annabelle squeaked as she was pulled off balance and went crashing back to the ground beside him. "Ow!" she complained, though it wasn't as if she was seriously hurt. "Gods, Cal, what do you want?" she demanded, crinkling her nose and shoving his shoulder gently.

He wrapped his arm around her and kept her close. "I thought we were bonding. However, I know you get antsy when you're in one place for too long." He rolled over so that she was atop him. "But I thought you liked this place pretty good."

Resisting the urge to shiver, she let herself settle over him and gave a dramatic roll of her eyes. "You propositioning me, Calixte?" she teased lightly.

"Okay I'm not going to sugar coat it, I like a good time as much as anyone. I mean, I'm here, you're here. And if you wanna fool around...I'm not gonna turn you away. I mean, what else is there to do on this stupid station?" he said with a smirk. Cal leaned up and kissed her lightly, just a peck, a small spark drifting between them.

"Oh." Her eyes widened a bit and she blinked. She'd sort of thought Cal was just teasing her- it's not as though it would be the first time. "I- um-"
Annabelle stuttered a bit, then closed her eyes, huffed out a breath, and leaned forward to kiss him. It was a little clumsy, nerves making her movements quick and fluttery.

Cal was careful with the kiss, reaching up and cupping her cheek until the kiss was deepened. He pulled away to catch his breath, cheeks flushed, and his eyes watching her lazily.

She gasped quietly as she paused to catch her breath, still watching him with wide eyes. "That, um..." She took a breath and leaned in again, a little more confident in the kiss this time.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" The words were brief before she kissed him again. Cal admittedly didn't think she had it in her. But when he felt it, he couldn't hold back his moan, leaning into that kiss and wrapping his arms around her.

Annabelle chucked quietly, emboldened, and nipped lightly at his bottom lip. "Know what the best part of this is?" she breathed. "I don't have to worry about my magic."
The iron grip of control she usually kept on her power relaxed slightly and a few sparks of electricity tingles at points of contact: her lips against his, her fingers at the nape of his neck, even a few sparks jumping to life and leaping between their chests.

Feeling those sparks elicited more moans from Calixte. He wasn't necessarily a quiet man, however. That being said, few people were able to get any sort of pleasure out of him. The sparks made him arch up into her. His arms wrapped around her, slipping around the small of her back and holding her close, fingers dancing up and down her spine.

She shivered pleasantly, both from his touch and the small sounds he was making. "Cal," she breathed quietly against his lips, allowing her hands to roam over his shudders and back as she pressed as close as she could manage.

"So...You wanna?" Cal whispered between soft kisses. His lips were always palpable, working sensually against hers and his body hitching here and there with the tingles she inspired in him. He grinned, gripping her body close and gently grinding up against her.

Annabelle's breath hitched and she couldn't stop herself from rocking her hips back into his. "I-I, um..."
She took a careful breath and tried to orient herself. After a moment she muttered, "If a guard comes in here to take me away and sees us, I'm blaming you." Her lips came crashing back to his, demanding this time.

Once she found that sweet spot, he couldn't stop his noises. They were soft and sometimes abrupt, responding to the pressure of their hips so close together. Calixte was as ever a thorough lover. Never one to leave his partner unsatisfied. But it didn't hurt to have a partner willing to return the favor.
"We won't get caught," he said. "They encourage fornication, keeps complaints down." He growled against her lips, letting himself get caught up in the blood that was moving further south. He wasn't a small man by any means, but there was plenty of time to show off later.

A delighted sort of shiver ran up her spine, sparking tingles of electricity from her fingers and lips. "Fair enough." She kissed him again, deeply, and let her hands trail down to his hips.
Truth be told, she was a little nervous about the whole thing. But Cal wasn't the only one who'd gone a while without a lay, and honestly she needed a way to relieve the stress. Her hips rocked slowly against his, lips moving to nurse at the slope of his neck.

Cal opened his neck for her, reveling in the contact. Heat surged through him, the wounds in his mind temporarily assuaged with her presence. She had abilities like he did. She had wounds like he did. Maybe she didn't get here the same way, but here they were, thrown together like meat into the fire.
The inhibitor chip didn't let him use his gifts as he normally would. However, there were still tingles that were capable of breaking out here and there. "You're quite good at this," he breathed heavily, hands reaching down to grip the muscles of her ass, pressing her hips deep into his. He moaned softly, wanting nothing more than to feel release.
"You don't need all these clothes do you?" he asked with a smirk, hands reaching up to assist in their removal.

Annabelle practically purred against his skin, trailing her kisses down to his chest and then back up to his jaw. "I suppose I don't," she murmured with a smirk as she moved her hands to pull the shirt off. She paused then, head tilted as she looked at him.
"What about you?" Her hands dipped to the hem of his shirt and tugged gently. Her magic crackled just under the surface of her skin, repressed and beaten down by her time here but still very much alive.

"I'm sweating bullets," he chuckled and leaned upward against his shoulder blades to wiggle out of his shirt. He chuckled and slipped out of the clinging number until his front was bare to hers. His hands slid down along her waist, then up, thumbs ghosting over the points of her breasts. It was his turn to lean in and kiss along her neck, sucking deeper against heated flesh.

Her breath caught in her throat and she let her eyes flutter shut for a moment. "Cal- hell, why haven't we done this sooner?" she laughed softly. It made sense, if she thought about it- it was a nice way to relieve stress.
"Here." She guided his hand a bit to show him how she liked to be touched, gasping quietly as she shifted on his lap.

TRIM tended to keep the nails of their patients rather short, to prevent unnecessary accidents of breakage and scratching like wild animals. But Cal's blunt tips still had bite enough to scrape a little bit of her skin.
"I dunno, I think I was trying not to be a creep first," he said and kissed her throat, leaning down against her chest, and taking a breast between his lips.

She groaned in appreciation, then laughed quietly. "Noted, thanks. Don't know what I would've done if a charmer like you came onto me right away- oh!"
Her teasing cut off in a small, sharp gasp with a particular rock of her hips. "Cal," she purred, letting her head lull to the side. "Fuck, ya gonna tease all night or show a girl whatcha can do?"

"Why?...Are you uh...salivating from not your mouth?" he asked. He wasn't really good at talking dirty. ANd maybe confinement had left him a little sloppier than he remembered, but he could still feel heat when he detected it. He let his hand slip between them to test his theory, undoing the bindings of her trousers.

Annabelle laughed. "Wow, that was smooth- oh-ohhh..." Her eyes clenched shut and he took a small breath to steady herself as his fingers brushed against her. "Yes." The word was pulled from her unbidden and she bit her lip.
A few wriggles of her hips and she managed to work her pants down to pull at her knees, then shifted to kick them off completely. Her fingers moved to the hem of his own trousers and tugged gently.

"You're gonna need to pull a little harder than that if you wanna get these off. Once I have an erection, they tend to get fairly snug." Well he wasn't going to let her do all the work, unzipping his pants and sighing with relief when they were loosened.
He slipped out of them, grateful he didn't bother with the underwear that morning. Or whatever passed for morning on a space station.
He leaned up on his elbows and kissed her fiercely, hands still eager to explore and tease her until neither could resis much longer.

She gave her own small sound of relief when they were both free of clothing, the heat building her her core demanding to be sated. She moaned into the kiss and gave small shifts of her hips until they were pressed together in that deliciously torturous way that didn't quite slake the fire but rather fed it.
Annabelle's hands wandered over his back and shoulders as she kissed him deeply. She gave a few small rocks of her hips that elicited another groan from her and paused, panting.
"Want you," she mumbled as her kisses traveled to his neck. "Cal. Help me forget?" She just wanted to pretend, just for a moment, that their world was different.

Once in touch with her, there was no going back. There, she'd found a place on his body that made Calixt still with tension. He groaned deeply, rocking his hips up into hers once they were connected, and each touch he made gripped her to him as if she were a second skin.
He moan against her lips, closing his eyes and rolling them forward so that he was atop. He just needed a little push, a little encouragement. Wasn't that all anyone wanted? "Help me escape," he panted against her lips rolling his hips hard and deep.

Annabelle gasped and arched her back as she was pushed down, Cal's body covering hers. "Gods, Cal- fuck!"
She clung to him tightly, blunted nails digging into his skin as she whimpered and bucked up under him. They both needed this escape, and she was more than willing to give it everything she had.

He poised both arms firmly on either side of her, knees stabilized to the ground. He rocked deep and hard into her, already feeling like he was out of breath. "Fuck harder? Is that what you said...that's what I heard," he said.
Another kiss, biting just at the edge of her lip, he ground his hips deep, rolling his back into her until each thrust had him balls deep. He pressed hard, wanting that feel of another, that connection that stemmed from more than just physical. As they moved in unison, he could feel small tingles of electricity passing between them.

A small gasp slipped passed her lips before being swallowed into the kiss. She moaned against his mouth, encouraging every movement of his hips with soft sounds or tightening her grip of him.
It was electric, literally, and she couldn't get enough. Panting softly, Annabelle rocked her hips up for a deeper angle and reached into herself, tugging at her magic until blue sparks were jumping and dancing across her skin with every breath.
A particular thrust had her biting down on his shoulder to muffle a moan, hooking her legs up around his waist in an effort to keep him close. "Oh gods, r-right there," she gasped out, little shivers now rippling through her frame.

Between them, Cal allowed himself to rest on her just slightly. She was warm and the sweat between them tingled with dancing arms of electricity. He moaned against her lips, hiking up her thighs and working the angle she begged him to take. "This one?' he panted, keeping their foreheads together, thrusting deep and slow until his body ached with ecstasy.
He didn't know how much more he could take without releasing here and now, but he didn't want to go it alone. This was a team effort now. Shoot, if he wanted to go at it alone, he would have when she was in her session.

Annabelle cried out, though she quickly muffled the sound with a kiss. "Y-yes," she gasped out. "Like that. Oh gods, Cal!"
She could feel herself toeing the edge, a delicious sort of torture that had her arching her spine up into him and dragging her nails down his back, at least as much as she could. Small whimpers and moans slipped passed her lips and she let her head fall back with another cry that she didn't even try to stifle this time.

It didn't take much more to make him hold his breath, his head pounding from ear to ear, but he was unable to hold back much longer. He gave a sharp cry, feeling himself burst from within and spreading warmth deep within her body.
He held her close to him, clutching body to body, breath to breath, chest to chest. Despite his panting, he planted kisses all over her neck and shoulder, soft kisses that nibbled along her body.

Small ripples of pleasure shivered along her body in waves of dancing sparks and she went a little boneless in his arms. The soft little kisses made her smile and tilt her head to give him better access to her neck.
"Cal..." His name was a blissful sigh, and Annabelle twisted slightly so she could pepper a few soft kisses of her own along the slope of his shoulder. She kept her legs wrapped around him, unwilling to lose the closeness they'd fostered between them.

Slowly he rolled them both over until she was comfortably over him. He sighed and eased into the flooring underneath him. Sure it wasn't ideal and the beds were right beside them, however, he made due with the plan before him.
With a sigh he looked up at her, brushing disheveled hair from her face. "So when do you think is a good time to get out of here?"

She hummed softly and tilted her head into his hand as he brushed the hair out of her face, eyes half closed. His words made them fly open though and she blinked at him in silence.
"Out of- and how exactly do you plan to do that?" she asked with wide eyes. "You can't possibly be serious."

"I couldn't be more serious," he said, looking up at her with clear eyes. Maybe he was still mulling over the pleasure from their rutting. Nevertheless, his gaze was still serious.
"I don't plan on dying here, Anna. And neither should you. We're special, you and I. We're not supposed to be caged up. I have a life. Out there. Had a life, I guess. But I plan on getting back to it. Don't you have a life outside this floating bubble?"

"I-" Annabelle but her lip and flicked her eyes away. With a sharp exhale, she murmured, "I s'pose I must've. I just...don't remember."
It was rather difficult for her to work up the courage she knew a risk like an attempt to escape would take without any real memory of what life outside of TRIM was like. Just what exactly would she be throwing herself into?
She made a small sound in the back of her throat and hid her face in the curve of Cal's shoulder. "I'm scared, Cal. What...what if they catch us?"

There was always that nagging questions of what might happen. They could just as easily be discarded the next day and replaced with new stock, ripe for the prodding. They were assets as long as they were alive, but there was no guarantee that they would be the next day or the one after that.
Cal didn't have any positive answer for her, but he tried to smile. Reaching a hand up to tuck beneath her chin, he grinned and kissed her cheek. "I'm scared too," he said. "But there's something in the rush of a thrill, isn't there? I'm not gonna force you, but I plan on getting out of here. This place ain't no life."

"I know." She sighed and pressed her forehead to his for a moment. "I know..."
She couldn't exactly avoid his gaze, not with him holding her chin up like that, so she forced a small smile and dipped her head to kiss his palm.
"Alright. If you go, I go." Anything had to be better than wasting away here, right?

The tingle that came from that contact made Cal look even more intrigued with her. He'd never met anyone else with a gift similar to his. Maybe they weren't quite the same and he was a shadow of his former self now. It left him sad to remember he could take out powergrids of entire city blocks with a single touch, but now he could barely get electricity to arc between his index fingers.
It wasn't like him to dwell on the negative. He just wanted to get out, and if he had Annabelle's help, it might be more than a half-drugged dream.
"Thank you," he said genuinely. "It means a lot that you would say that. Really." He leaned up to peck her cheek. She'd probably regret it later, so might he. But it was better than waiting to be thrown away.
Cal gestured for her to get up, and he moved to the cot above them, and strew his form across it.

Annabelle rolled off him and just sort of stared at the cot for a moment, lost in thought. "Do you have any sort of plan?" she asked eventually, softly, moving so she could perch on the edge of the small cot beside him.
Almost unconsciously, she reached out to run her fingers through his hair. It was as much a gesture to comfort herself as it was to comfort him, if she was being honest.

He shifted, gesturing her to recline with him on the cot. Even after their furious activity of before, he was still warmed by her presence.
"Not at the moment. But the idea and dedication to it is the start," he said gently. He was falling asleep from the hair brushing, closing his eyes. "But I'll think of something. I always do."

A small smile twitched at her lips and she settled down beside him. "Yeah. I guess you do."
Seeing that he was starting to drift off, she reached down for the thin blanket at the foot of the cot and drew it up over them, still teasing her fingers through his hair absently.

Cal fell easily into a comfortable sleep. But it wasn't without its restlessness. He didn't dream of anything specific, but the fact that he was caged up for so long made him disturbed. He awoke after a few hours, sweating despite the cool conditions in the room... and feeling more alone than ever.

Annabelle tried to give Cal some room as she fell asleep herself- she knew he didn't like feeling boxed in- but there was really only so much she could do.
Then there were the dreams. Perhaps it had something to do with her visit to the doctor, but her dream was suddenly darker than normal, harsher. Mother was angry.
I told you not to let him in.
She shook her head. I didn't want to, I-
No excuse! You are stronger than this!
But the doctor-
Not just him! Mother's voice took on an edge to it she'd never heard before. Don't let anyone in. Anyone, girl. You cannot have attachments.
An image of Cal flickered behind her eyes and she whimpered in her sleep, curling closer to him. But before she could protest, Mother snapped out a strident, Obey me.
As before, pain jolted through her and a quick- albeit less severe- flash of sparks ran over her body. She bolted upright with a sharp cry, shivering and whimpering lightly from the aftershocks of the pain.

Cal saw the sparks in the pitch black of the room and he immediately turned to Annabelle. "HEY!" he hissed. "Anna! Are you okay?"
He looked at her in the darkness, reaching up to grip her shoulder.

With a quiet wail she collapsed back against him, arms wrapping around his shoulders as she shivered violently. "Oh gods, she won't leave me alone," she gasped as she hid her face against his chest. "She won't stop, she won't stop..."

"Damn," Cal whispered holding her close. "Then it's set in steel. We're getting out of here Annabelle. I thought this place was making me squirmy. But I believe you."

Annabelle sobbed into his chest, hating how vulnerable it made her feel but unable to stop it. She nodded shakily.
"We- we had to leave. It was never this bad before, before he was in my head... she's so angry, Cal, gods so angry. It hurts."
She clung tightly, needing the reassurance of another body against hers.

He hated feeling like the only source of comfort for this poor creature in his arms, but he wasn't going to push her away. There wasn't even any alcohol in the nearby vicinity. Never the less, he just tightened his arms around her.
"Hurts like how?" he asked, feeling a little breathless from the pressure which she held him. "Show...me."

She squeaked and shook her head quickly, staring up at him with wide eyes. "No, I- I don't want to hurt you." He was quite literally her only friend in the known universe, how could she ever hurt him?
Don't let them in. A flash of Cal's face behind her eyes. She whimpered and clenched her eyes shut.
"I c-can't really explain. It's like- I've done something that makes her angry, so she's...punishing me. But I don't know what I did wrong!" Her grip on him relaxed slightly, enough that she could let her head rest on his shoulder without straining her arms around his waist.

"Like...needles in the brain?" he asked, slowly looking over to her with glistening eyes.
"You don't have to tell me any more. Just breathe. If only we had some whiskey in here. Might make the both of us feel better."

Annabelle nodded slowly. "More like...needles everywhere," she murmured after a moment.
She glanced up at him and forced a shaky smile. "Is alcohol your solution to everything?"

His brows quirked up at her statement. Maybe it wasn't a solution but it sure made you think of one.
"It could be. But I haven't had a drink since I've been here. Not unless I'm a really good boy. And I'm rarely that," he said with a shrug.

"I'm well aware," she chuckled quietly. At least he was keepin her mind in other things.
She sighed and relaxed her grip around him slightly. "We need a plan, Cal. We have to get out of here."

"That we do," he said. "But I have to admit, I'm next to useless in this moment. I'm half-asleep, naked, and slightly aroused." The admission actually left him flushing a bit. However, he did his best to leave it at that and scooted up further in the cot.
"Don't you think I've tried to look for holes in their security? In any place here? It's completely flawless. Or that's how it feels. I'm not an idiot, I know nothing is completely infallible. But this is one tough nut to crack."

Annabelle found herself nodding along with him as he described his state- at least tired and naked. Then she paused, his flush bringing a soft blush to her own cheeks.
"Um, right. Tough nut," she repeated, a little distracted now. She huffed out a breath and shifted so she could lay her head cautiously against his chest. "I haven't been here as long as you," she murmured. "I don't know what you've tried."
Quite unconsciously, she curled a little closer to him, one leg curving over his hip.

He could relish in the closeness of another body, even without being intimate. Given that they had just been, but for now, he just relaxed against her, parting her hair and letting his thumb play into the soft skin of her ear.
"I haven't been the same since I've got here," he said. "They did something to me... They put something in my brain that doesn't let me use my powers like I used to be able to. It..sucks. I could take out whole power grids.... I had purpose. Now, I feel like a husk."

"Cal..." She tilted her head into his touch and looked up at him, concern swimming in her eyes. She sighed softly and leaned in to press a feathery kiss to his neck before snuggling closer.
"I'm sorry." Another quiet sigh and she closed her eyes. "I...we could find a way to...fix it."

"Its okay, Anna. They have to find the right leash for each dog don't they," he said. He looked over to her... "But you...you shocked the doc.... And they didn't throw you in solitary? Do you think you know why?"

She shook her head slowly. "I have no idea. Maybe he panicked?" She shrugged and sighed, rubbing at her eyes with the heels of her palms.
"I keep expecting them to come take me away."

"I expect I would have expected just about the same," Cal admitted. "Or a very thorough beating senseless. Hurting staff isn't acceptable and could get you canned for that... I guess that's one way of getting out.... Getting your brain drained, and you're just a shell..."

Annabelle's eyes slowly widened and she felt the blood drain from her face. "Oh gods." She whimpered and covered her face with her hands. Shuddering, she curled tighter against Cal. "Th-they're gonna kill me, Cal. I- I can't..."
Her voice choked off in her throat and she swallowed harshly.

"Hey! Hey! They won't kill you. You're too interesting to kill. They only get rid of the boring ones they can't prod or get anything out of anymore," Cal said. Maybe they weren't the most reassuring words in the world, but it was true never the less.
There was no end to TRIM pragmatism - in a waste not, want not, sort of way. "Anna, listen. We're gonna get out of here. I don't make promises lightly. So when I make them, I intend to keep them, okay?"

She tried to take a few deep breaths to calm herself and nodded slowly. "O-okay." Her arms wrapped tight around her middle and she swallowed.
"We have to go soon, Cal. We need a plan."

"I know. I know. It's not something I don't think about every second of every day I'm in here. But panicking about it won't make any such plan come any faster. But...I think something is lingering on my mind," he admitted and rubbed his face hard.

"Something?" She lifted her head to search his face. "What's something?"
She leaned in a little closer, pressing against him as she unconsciously sought warmth while waiting for an answer.

"Well, you're really good with electricity right? And I used to be really good.... I bet things could get pretty nasty if this place lots is power. But, it's just a thought, and maybe it's something they've looked into."

"Maybe..."
Annabelle suddenly pulled away from him a little and tilted her head. Her brow furrowed in thought. "Electricity." She seemed to be looking through him almost. "Brainwaves. If something's blocking the circuits..."
She snapped her eyes to his. "What if- what if I could....fix you?"

"Fix me? I think that's what TRIM was trying to do and they weren't very good at it," Cal joked. He was trying to make light of a heavy situation to little avail. Then his smile faded. "Fix me how? I....I don't even know how they managed to put those things in my head... The only thing I want screaming through my brain is a bullet. And even that's far gone."

Her brow furrowed, eyes soft and sympathetic. "Oh, Cal." She cupped his face in her hands for a moment and let her brow rest against his with a small sigh.
"I'm sorry," she murmured. "I'm sorry. I wish I could do something."

After a few hours, it was time for shower, and moving through the bland white halls with those white-clad guards and their faceless faces wasn't exactly comforting. The giant steam room where the other patients and subjects were coralled into reminded Calixte of a meat packing factory. It would be so easy to change the water out for acid or poison gas. See how long they would last, see how their skin would boil off.
He unconsciously held his breath until he felt the coldness of water falling onto his skin and he gasped, looking up, seeing the artificial lights, and the water falling from the spigots above.

Annabelle was confined to the room as Calixte was led away to the showers. Apparently, she'd been dubbed too unpredictable.
Alone in the room, she pulled her legs up to her chest and rested her chin against her knees, closing her eyes.
Fine. If she was stuck here, she could at least try to think.
