Description:
The Iron Claw is The Union's prototype Void enabled starship. It's construction differs from many of the Union's previous designs in that it has a somewhat sleeker appearance possessing an aerodynamic hull shape that makes little difference in space, but within atmosphere makes it a formidable vessel. As a prototype vessel it has been relatively untested and possess a variety of features never before seen on a Union star ship but hold great promise for future vessels.

During the Iron Claw's early voyages the crew discovered a side-effect of using the Void Drive technology that they had gained from the Alien visitor Cy Una Rem, it effectively harnesses Void matter which when compressed long enough within the Void Drive suddenly becomes sentient and 'learns' from it's crew. For the Iron Claw they have gained an entity know as Esise, which for reason known only to itself appears to be female and quite powerful with a form of magic similar to the Wolvian Spirit Magic.

Extra note:
The Ortica Mark 18s are a new model designed to match the capabilities of the Wolf-Star and intended for mass production. A more efficient power supply allow for a 2-seater cabin with 1 pilot and 1 extra multi-functional seat.

The Pilot is capable of performing all critical functions, however the 2nd seat can be used to take control of comms, navigation and weapon systems.

The Ortica's engine is not capable of Void travel, however if near enough to it's "parent" Wolf-Star it can accompany that star-ship whilst outside of the hangar bay.

It has 2 forward pulse cannons and a single low-emission beam cannon and thus is not designed for taking on large ships on it's own.

However the Ortica is still highly maneuverable and thus whilst it cannot do a great deal of damage it is also remarkably difficult to hit. This is made even more possible with a modified form the Spirit-Meld Alloy which is only capable of FleetFoot, but does not require an individual with Wolvian Spirit Mastery to activate due to being specialised. The ability to access this Wolvian magic allows an Ortica to have sufficient speed to exit a planet's gravity, coupled with it's shape and shielding this short-range patrol vessel is now capable of entry and exit from planetary orbit and surface landings.

Key Crew members:

Struatha Eross'a - Captain - Struatha is a veteran ship captain of the Union, he's no-nonsense, but also a bit of a rogue who doesn't like to stick to Union rules which is why Argroww picked him.  He is a Felthriir (cat-person) and the oldest member of the crew who is aging naturally, strong and athletic in build with more than a few battle scars.

Jinny Hamson - Comms Officer - Jinny is a young human, in fact the youngest on board and was technically a stow-away on The Iron Claw's first mission.  For some reason Argroww took a shine to her and rather than being punish she got trained up as crew and is now an accomplished officer and the first voice most will hear when contacting The Iron Claw.  She is also very pretty which would work in her favour, if it wasn't for the fact that she is known to be favoured by Argroww and most men do not want to risk seeking his approval before dating her, let alone anything else.

Celtira Mel'akra - Helmsman - Celtira is a natural pilot and possesses a natural instinct that has always served her well when piloting Orticas, fortunately the control pod for the Iron Claw was designed around the much smaller Orticas.  Also a Felthriir but much younger than Struatha she also has a sense of fun and irreverence born of her regular solo flights, she can however still be relied upon to pilot The Iron Claw to the best of her ability.

Zan - Human (to his annoyance) - Zan is technically a Golden Dragon and older even than Argroww, they have known of each-other and been friends for much of Argroww's life.  However something about the new dimension they find themselves in has stripped Zan's abiltiy to return to his natural form, fortunately he still retains both his dragonic magic and long life, the former makes him a very powerful mage.

Esise - Void entity - Esise is an energy based life form that lives within The Iron Claw's Void Drive, she acts like a ships computer and has a similar level of access that allows her to have limited control over the ships functions, however she often talks and acts like a child.

(more may be added in time, but the above are key NPCs and are unlikely to be killed off)

Races present:

Humans - just like us!

Felthriir - humanoid cats, their faces are somewhat tiger-like.  A point of reference might be the Kilrathi from Wing Commander (old computer based space shooter)

Wolvians - humanoid wolves, similar to werewolves just without the changing form.  Some Wolvians possess a unique magic, but only ever one power, Fleetfoot (super-speed), Stoneskin (near-invicible skin), GhostWalker (true invisibility) and SpiritMaster (See Argroww's powers).

Lamians - Lizard people who love technology they typically make good engineers due to this love.

Elves - pointy eared humans, roughly half the ships Marines are elves not for their brute force, but their agility and abilit to master multiple combat disciplines.

Dwarves - short and stocky and surprisingly good cooks, the entire mess hall staff are Dwarves.
