A League of Their Own (Lupine Sisters!!)

On her back, like this pose wasn't familiar. Except this time it was because she was working on Serpentine, her bike. She was in the garage that housed most of her friend's bike. They even sometimes shared it with some of the people that weren't on their "crew". She pushed the skateboard like thing around as she adjusted random things on the bottom of the bike. She could hold her own in some adjustments but really Rupi was the one who rocked the mechanics end of it. Makani was more into the racing part of the whole thing. She liked to know how it worked, but honestly just wanted it to go fast and rip up the road and the people against her.

Makani lived above the garage and her room was very bare. Mattress, computer, floor, and lots of Jack Beam bottles lining the walls. She lived a somewhat bare existence, not very much into material things besides Serpentine, and clothes. That was about the only thing she really splurged on that wasn't consumable. The kitchen was probably the best looking room in the building however. One thing she did like to do was cook, she was good at that. Had to be to grow up on her own. The cabinets were normally pretty stocked because she always cooked for her crew.

She looked up at the wheels on her bike and sighed as she sat up and started tightening random bolts and things. She knew those hover bikers would eventually bite her in the ass. She could already be to that level, she had the skill for it. She had even ridden on those bikes a few times. She was pretty much a natural when it came to fast things. She just couldn't afford it right now with her share of the garage, the apartment, and the other vices she played with. She had started a little cardboard box fund for it but...it never really worked out. She loved the old style of Serpentine. It made it more real to her. Those hover bikes were so damn fancy though.

She pushed some of the stray hairs that fell into her face out of the braid she had done sort of sloppily to keep it out of her face while she worked. Her green bandanna had disappeared somewhere. She wiped her hands on her light green t-shirt. It looked very faded some of the letters on it completely gone. It looked like it probably read Lupine Sisters at one point. Grease streaked across it as she moved her hands across her stomach. Her jeans had several holes and stains all over them. She flipped the switch for the lights on the bike a green and blue glow falling over her.

Laying down on her back again she looked up at her bike. She stretched her hands into the air yawning as she did so. Her jaw unhinging then readjusting itself. She tucked her hands behind her head. She looked very serene and quiet as she stared at Serpentine. Not many people besides The Lupine Sisters ever saw her like this. Maybe a couple guys, but that was very rare. Working on the bike always kept her calm, distracted her from her other habits and hobbies. She was able to steady that constant static in her and just relax.

Though it was common knowledge she enjoyed being on the track more. Where she seemed like a sleek dangerous...monster . The adrenaline always seemed to run her heart like if she went too long without it she might die. The loud people, the cheering, the feel of the engine beneath you. It made her shiver to think about it sometimes. She always seemed like a Queen on the track, she loved it. She'd been around this group of people for awhile. Despite trash-talking and competition she loved to be around most of them. She even loved the trash-talk and fist fights that normally happened at some point. Excitement was her drug. Plus the money that she normally won, that was a nice bonus to the adrenaline.

“…shit…” came the groan from the pile of limbs sprawled on a bare mattress. As Rupi slowly dragged herself into a sitting position and opened her eyes the world seemed to wobble. Blinking, she vaguely recalled pouring large quantities of alcohol down her throat the night before. The real question was, why didn’t her head hurt?

After a minute or so of stupidly swaying and pondering the thought, Rupi decided that she was not hung over because she was still drunk. She glanced around the room. Hmm, not hers, how peculiar.

Oh wait, it was Makani’s place. That thought brought back increasingly blurred memories of her getting completely sloshed right her in this little room. And she’d been hoping it was because she’d gone out, slept with some random hot person who had left her in their apartment alone where she could steal their computer before leaving. No such luck apparently.

Attempting to stand had her falling back to the floor, not once but twice, until she remembered how to use her legs properly. She swaggered over to the fridge, leaning on I for support and shaking her head. That only made it worse.

When in doubt, drink more, that’s what she always said. With that in mind her hand groped around until it found a half drunk bottle of vodka, the ice clinging to it stinging her hand.

Unscrewing the cap she took a swig of the burning liquid and wiped her mouth. A long burp followed, bringing with it the taste and smell of her last meal, which was rather unpleasant. She hiked up her dark blue hip huggers, which had begun falling down and giving her butt crack some unneeded air. She vaguely remembered having a belt when she arrived, but a look around the apartment revealed no belt. Her white ‘Flaming Stones’ t-shirt was exactly as it always was, awesome in its shitness.

In an effort to escape the smell she’d made, Rupi stumbled her way down the stairs, hopping into the garage below. Hopping because she was trying not to fall down or drop her bottle.

“Mornin Maki!” she shouted, a little more loudly than she was expecting. “Mornin Maki,” she repeated, more quietly. Ambling over to the bike suspended above Makani and draping herself over it she said lovingly, “Morning gorgeous.” That was to Serpentine, not to Makani. Taking another swill of cheap vodka she looked down at her friend. “What chu workin on?”

Makani put her elbows up and leaned on them looking over at the stairs as Rupi stumbled down them. The poor girl was awake. Her head must be killing her. Unless of course she was still drunk. As the girl made her way over an evil grin spread across Makani's face. She couldn't help but give Rupi a hell of a hard time.

"The drunkard awakens!" She announced dramatically. "and graces us with her presence. How's your head dear?" She then let her eyes drift down and had her question answered. The half gone bottle of vodka clutched by Rupi, she was still drunk then.  "The boys left earlier this morning. Apparently you're continuing the party by yourself though." Makani chuckled. "If you even remember them."

Makani stood up and stretched her arms out a few of the bones making noises as she did so. She got so stiff down underneath the bike like that sometimes.

"I'm working on random parts, wasting time mostly." She snagged the bottle from Rupi's hand by the base hoping to scare her into thinking she dropped it. She may know the joke too well by now though. She swallowed down a gulp.

"So what else is on your schedule today besides not being sober?"

Her eyes were half closed underneath her thick bangs, looking at nothing in particular as she walked through the underground streets with little enthusiasm. She always felt like she was surrounded by stagnant air down here, unless she was on her bike, riding at speeds that no sane person would possibly consider. Good for her, then, that there was a sport, or at least a hobby, that others enjoyed and it involved high speed racing. Good for her that she wasn't the only one. Not so good that she could easily become another statistic, one more casualty as a result of Motorail. Not that she minded, she might as well die of something she loved than just fading away from old age or illness.

Her body felt energy-less and heavy today, the result of drinking far too much the previous evening, she really didn't drink that often and so it had taken it's toll on her nervous system. Making Sumi feel as if her head was full of nothing but white noise and cotton balls. She had started to wonder who had talked her into drinking so much, and how they had achieved it, but then she decided that not thinking at all was far easier on her brain at this point in time. Thank god she didn't suffer from hangovers, unless a slight fuzzy brain was considered a hangover, she had never suffered with splitting headaches or nausea after drinking, she supposed she was lucky.

With a short yawn she kicked a can out of her path with her steel covered toes and grabbed a drainpipe lining the side of the building, swinging around on one foot until she was facing the entry to the garage. She felt more boyish than usual today, usually she was the super girly girl, she loved to dress in cute shirts, shorts or skirts - even dresses - but today she was wearing drainpipe jeans tucked into thick knee high boots, the steel toed kind that any rocker would be jealous of, and a simple black baby-t with the words 'Zombie Doll' scrawled across the breast in pink lettering.

It took her a while to register the others, but when she did she lifted a hand and gave a short "Hey." before flopping down on some crates in the corner. She was fully intending on working on Sleipnir today... just as soon as she had shaken the fuzzy noise hazing her brain.

She grumbled a little as she forced her eyes to open when her body told her it was time to wake up. Obviously she was not too excited at the idea of having to get up and stumble around in a headache induced haze. Now the headache was not from a hangover. In fact she was probably the only one of the group that didn't get herself trashed on alcohol god knows how many times a week. It wasn't that she didn't like it but with her headaches sacrifices had to be made. Alcohol, she had experimented, proved to increase her already painful headaches and since they were alcohol induced, mostly, her medication wouldn't help out in the least.

Rolling off of her mattress, Fi got herself to her feet and snatched her bottle of medication from a stack of books that proved as a makeshift stand at the end of her mattress. She opened the bottle and stared down into it, sighing quietly. 'Only enough left to last a few days.' Well she knew what she was buying the next time she went out. She dumped a couple of white colored pills into her free hand and shut the bottle back up before tossing it onto her bed.

Since her only source of drink to help the pills down would probably be alcohol, she just stuck them in her mouth and swallowed them without any liquid assistance. Of course it caused her to cough a little since it was no an easy task to do but oh well. Fi lightly rubbed her eyes, trying to get them used to the lighting as she left her room. She hadn't bothered to get changed out of her pajamas just yet which were mostly like her normal clothing. Revealing. It was a wonder why she stayed warm in such clothing. They were a light red color and made out of silk. The top was like a tank top, exposing her arms, and the collar of the shirt went down below her collar bone. It wasn't even long enough to cover up her stomach. The pants actually covered up her legs, which was rather surprising since sometimes her pants usually had holes in them or something.

Fi ran a hand through her hair, straightening out the pieces that were sticking up in a fashion that was called "bed head". After getting herself in order (fixing her hair a little as stated and pulling her clothes over necessary parts that needed covered) she headed down to the garage where everyone should be at.

As she got there she found that she was right and it seemed two of the members of the group were either drunk or hungover. Typical. Ah but Makani and Rupi were still drinking. It made Fi wrinkle up her nose a little. How could they stand to do that right after waking up? Maybe if they did it later on then it would be fine but she couldn't understand it. "I thought the party stopped hours ago." she said. She would know, she was up cursing at all of the noise and the people making it since it caused one of her headaches.

“Shaddup!” she mumbled, hips swaying behind her like a wiggling tail as she leant on the bike. Her free hand ran in long strokes down Serpentine’s slick body, tracing the lines the air would follow.

“There were boys…?” Rupi couldn’t remember any boys being there, but then again she couldn’t remember much at all.

She let out a yelp as the bottle tumbled from her hand, mind already envisioning not only the mess she’d have to clean up, but the wasted vodka. A good twenty credits worth was left, too.

Upon realising what Makani had done, what she had done again, Rupi balled up a fist and swung at the girl. Or tried to, at least. Her fist made it back to the wind up for the punch, but as soon as it began to move forward Rupi lost her balance and was forced to cling to the bike in a desperate attempt not to end up sprawled on the floor.

“I’m planning to beat some manners into you…bitch,” she grunted, not really meaning it but still feeling a bit pouty.

“Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee,” she hiccupped, “eeeeeeeeeeeey Sumi.” That was all the attention Sumi god though, because Fluffs was here.

Fi was, in all probability, her favourite person in the world. Not because she was that great to talk to, or was particularly attractive or witty, but because she had a funny name, and Rupinder gave her no end of shit about it.

“Fluffi!” she squealed as the girl walked in, rushing over to her with a little difficulty, arms outstretched. She hopped over to her, yanking her pants up as she did. Catching her friend in a bear hug she said with glee, “The party never ends when I’m here Fluffs.”

Makani gave a slight irritated hissing at Rupi taking the other woman's chin in her hand after she regained her balance. Poor girl always seemed to bite off more than she could chew, with partying, drinking, and Makani. It it had been anyone else talking to her like that she probably would have lain them out right there. However, she liked Rupi.

"Good luck with that Rupi." Her attention was drawn away from the sassy one and Serpentine as Sumi walked in. Makani dropped her hand from Rupi's chin and took another swig from the bottle then set it on the ground. As Sumi collapsed on the boxes it appeared yet again that Rupi and herself were the only ones who coudl survive a good party.

"Heya Sumi. How are you feeling?" She sneered it a little at the other girl a smirk on her face, already knowing the answer.

Shortly after Fi walked in drawing Rupi's attention completely. Makani gave a wide smile to the girl walking down the stairs. Her housemate, they complimented each other well by being such opposites, then that also set them up for lots of fights over nothing. They always seemed to get over it though.

"Oh Fluff, the best cure for a hangover is to keep drinking!" She shook her long finger at the party pooper but then her eyebrows drew together on her forehead her eyes narrowing slightly as though she could smell something was wrong with Fi.

"How's your head?"

Fi visibly twitched upon hearing her actual name coming from Rupi's mouth. How she wished she could just throw something at the girl to shut her up so she would say no more of her nicknames or her real name but that wouldn't be good. Most of the things within reach would harm the girl too much and that just couldn't happen.

She sighed and rubbed her ears a little after the squeal since it only proved to make her headache worse. Damn she wished the pills would kick in a lot faster. When she was pulled into a bear hug, her expression went blank for a second before showing clear irritation. "I wish the party would end. Let me go." she mumbled, trying to detach Rupi.

The lynx girl twitch again when Makani was the next one to say one of the names she so loathed. "Fi....Fi Fi Fi Fi! How many times do I have to tell you two? It's Fi. Nothing but Fi." she grumbled, still attempting to detach Rupi. It wasn't going so well. Bear hugs were not the easiest thing to get out of after all. "My head? It would honestly be better if Rupi wasn't squealing and if my pills would fucking kick in already." Ah it was now completely obvious...Fi was not a morning person.
