Something seemed to make a sound in the dim cavern, and Arisec's head shot around fast enough to crack his neck and slap himself with his jaw fins. He almost called out to ask what it was, but remembered in time that doing so would only bring anything nasty in the area down on him. He settled deeper into the corner he had found and tried to figure out what to do.
He had no idea where he was. He had no clue how to navigate underground, and at this point he didn't even know which of the many corridors that opened into this larger space he had entered by. He'd have to choose one eventually, though, or else just sit here until he dried out and died as nothing more than a husk of loose, crumbling scales. He swallowed and scratched the side of his neck with a blunted nail. He was already starting to feel itchy, but his scales still felt normal. Which exit, which exit, which exit?
Squeezing his eyes shut, Arisec let his tail tip drift in a few circles, and then held it still while he opened his eyes. That one. Better than none, he supposed, and crept out from his corner, hunched low to the ground as he warily started his way over to his chosen exit. He'd heard so many distant, strange sounds, and on his abrupt arrival, he had definitely been warned about the dangerous creatures that roamed the unguarded areas near the city. He really didn't want to meet any of them.
